I think you're are doing an excellent job scrubbing in your Pirellis. I've been riding a long time and had over 30 bikes. Years ago on my sport bikes, we never herad about breakng in tires. I pushed them right off the bat. Lucky I guess. You are correct about throttle application as well. A few kms more and they'll be perfect. Give us a report later of your opinion of these. Ride safe and wear all your protection!
Got em.on my 24 600RR and love em. The first ride was a bit of a suprise cause they want to lean more over the stock tires. But all in all a great tire.
Totally agree! I can feel the grip right off the bat after putting it on. So i just went ahead to BTIC to scrub it without worrying about grip. Anyway the journey from the Gombak toll to BTIC should have already warm it up and by the time i reached BTIC, it is already yummy and good to go =)
You can't judge the "stickiness" of a tire by leaning on it with your body weight. Tires are designed to work in a specific temperature range with the weight of the bike and rider on them as well as the engine torque applied.
If I rode like that I would be dead in a week. Alaska driver's change lanes without a turn signal all the time. You can't split traffic like that here.

Fresh tires have a layer of silica around them for storage purposes, which is why the initial scrub is important.
