We started this day in Ubud with Christian and Katy by having breakfast in the pool of our bamboo house. We finally left to explore some more and drove our scooters to the Goa Gajah Temple and the Campuhan Ridge Walk!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this TH-cam channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before Nate turns 30 (which is March 20, 2019)! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

I've really been enjoying your videos. It definitely brings back a lot of memories. I traveled off and on from 1987 to 2001 and spent a little over half of that time out of the country. The opportunity you have to vlog and make money while traveling didn't exist back then so I would come back to the States occasionally, find whatever job I could and work hard for a few months to save up enough for the next trip. I traveled more slowly and cheaply (usually under $10 a day) than you do but that's mostly because it was 20 to 30 years ago. I made it to over 70 countries and have been to a few of those more than once (India, China, Indonesia, Thailand and Australia) with Asia being my favorite region. Keep those videos coming.

Bali is a heaven... and Ubud is my favorite place... few years ago i went to Ubud almost every weekend cuz its not so far from my stay just took 1.5 hours by motor cycle.

Kara and Nate have you been to Austria? I searched through your vlogs and didnt notice any vlogs in Austria. If you havent gone, I really suggest you do. Lived in Vienna for 4 years, absolutely beautiful. Love what you do, you inspire a lot of people. Keep on travelleing!

Everyone should visit Bali Indonesia once in their lifetime. I was blessed to be able to visit last year in 2017 around March. Despite the extreme heat.. the veiw, the beach, and the atmosphere was amazing. Thank you for this video as it let me reminisce about my time there.

I'd love to explore more of Ubud, but my family's fav hotel in Bali (been going there since childhood,) was in Nusa Dua. It was called 'The Sheraton Laguna,' but is now renamed 'The Laguna Hotel and Spa.' The stretch of hotels and restaurants nearby, along that beach are amazing and the adventure of exploring to find the local market places is just amazing! We always went back to sample more of the local delights (mostly the fruit and the temples performances!) The strain of Hinduism in Bali is really quite unique!

Although, do you think you could answer some general questions about tackling Bali (maybe on the way to your next destination?). Q's like: where did your luggage go when you traveled from Caggu to Ubud, are you using Google Maps to get to each destination on scooter, how you rented your scooter (like just from someone off the side of the street?), and maybe any other tips you'd wish you knew before traveling here that you didn't already find online? Christian uses his vlogs as a business,and does videos/promotions for businesses,hence why his camera,drone work is very important to him,thus him having to see the best shots every time,and also how to edit and grade said shots!

Happy to hear that you can experience the culture all around you there and you don't have to make a big trek out of town to escape all the tourism. We head that way in the fall and I'm worried about adjusting to the heat/humidity! That pool looked perfect though!
Oh! Had to come back to add that we hadn't found good Mexican food in our entire 11 months on the road. I think all 6 of us might have cried, at least on the inside, when we found an amazing place in Split, Croatia!!! It smelled like heaven and tasted even better. Still dreaming about it, lol.
