I used to make jungle 30 years ago on my Amiga. Did it to death Now I make melodic tunes and old school style video game music. Keeps me off the streets.
Started raving religiously in 92 / 93 and fell in to the jungle thing really hard. Always respect when today's producers take it on and even more when they get it right like this. I subbed to this channel to learn about drill and trap. It's reassuring to see that people who love bass music have love for the old stuff and the new.
Here’s a timeless d&b trick: take the breakbeat from Funky Drummer (James Brown), and play it 4x tempo before the first bass/pad drop. Do some serious chopping; extend the hihat segments and move snares to up beats
As a Jungle producter I have to say you done a really good job. What I would like to know if you don't mind sharing is what is the plugin your using for you 808 bass? Papa Gee
@mrribz.........junglism4031 yes I do and to ask what preset of a plugin someone using is some what wrong?? as I was taught if you want to know something it's good to ask.
I have a feeling you will get addicted to making jungle as it always has such a nice feeling. I have made dnb and jungle for many years and can't ever stop
When I heard the 2nd one on your ig stories I knew it was gonna be mint 🔥🔥 ngl I prefer you doing the electronic music stuff now you’re great at it 🌊🌊🌊
Good stuff man. When I began learning music production I used to play around with Jungle. Always loved the fast drums and complimentary basslines. My love for it has now evolved towards dark drum & bass.
I love your videos going more and more into electronic music!!! Maybe one day you could make a video about you making some hardgroove or trance techno?
Dam. You're fire at making jungle! I've been following your stuff for a while and I think your time programming 808s really works with jungle. All the vibes too.
i first chopped up breaks as separate audio regions but now i always put it in quick sampler in slice mode, it's a lot easier to chop up and it makes it much easier to make really fast stuff for glitchier sounds
I thought you had Will and Saul on your channel when I saw the thumbnail. That would have been a big coo even though they aren't 90s Jungle. Your beat is banging and has a modern take on the Jungle sound. All the best with your first single 👊
This is actually very close to how jungle would of been made back then too, if you substitute the DAW for a sampler when you are cutting the breaks. The methodology was very similar though, just a different tool. A lot of trial and error, just playing about to see what sounded good and trying to make new sounds. That pad was dope AF as well, very reminiscent of early-mid 90's "intelligent" jungle pads (as some called it back then). The bass (voice+fx) and vocals gave it more of a modern twist, but it went real good with the rest of the track and gave a 21st century feel to it, but it still was true to jungle with the simple but effective sub bass line.
Bel lavoro 🌞🔊
@Ocean you can flow in the Jungle , hope you do some more and you clearly enjoy it. One question you said you used Ai in second track is that to separate the stems or you said something about changing the voice, what exactly did you use and how ? Am often doing mashups
As a 90's child I must say I really enjoyed your take on this genre - both beats really cool and kinda nostalgic to me! 😎 I would also like to see you try a liquid dnb or maybe a completely different genre such as Future Garage which has been one of my favorites in recent years. Keep it up and good luck with your first single and EP, Ocean!
Ocean you said in your video about trying new genre... I think you should have a try of a genre called "Soca" it has different styles such as groove, jab jab and more. Theres a style called afosoca... which is a fusion of afrobeats and soca. The genre is widely know and is mainly in the caribbean and at carnival such as the Notting Hill Carnival... Have a check
Korg M1, 01/w, wavestation, Roland D50, JV and XP series (most available as vsts) all very very fertile ground for authentic 90s jungle pads / synths and FX. Obvious really as they are from the era, if you want those ambient sounds with glassy, crytalline tops. Different sound to analogs. If you know you know (YOU KNOW?)
As it goes there were some good points in the music, some I would have held back on. But in all it was decent. It has that underground style playing out of a car driving down the road with windows down and police thinking of chasing you in case you were up to no good. Was never into jungle but knew of it though. Was more into post punk more than jungle or D&B style. Some other genres you could look into are the techo gothic side like Coldwave, Darkwave. Drab Majesty has a retro 80's synth style that when playing is how 1980's music should have been. Their songs are moody but the music is where synths should have gone to.

If this brings Jungle back to the mainstream, in my ripe old age, I'm here for it.
Amen

This is a great track but check out Future Retro and scientific Wax they're doing great things.

Noted, im gonna try this
4x the tempo? Lol no that's way too fast.
@@atetraxx I possibly meant 2x tempo, also depends on which layer I’m comparing it to. Wish I still had the files to refresh my memory
Killing the jungle beats🔥 can’t wait to bump the first single too!!
As a Jungle producter I have to say you done a really good job. What I would like to know if you don't mind sharing is what is the plugin your using for you 808 bass? Papa Gee
I was using sublab and serum 👌🏿
Thanks I've now got Sublet, would mine letting me know the particular preset you used in the Drake bootleg?@@prodbyocean
@mrribz.........junglism4031 yes I do and to ask what preset of a plugin someone using is some what wrong?? as I was taught if you want to know something it's good to ask.

That second tune is insane man, reminds me very much of old Hospital artists - sounds very London Elektricity-esque!
drake sample
that second track is my favourite one you've ever made huge banger.
Love tuning into your quick understanding of the layers. It is weird that I remember jungle slower. 😂
I have a feeling you will get addicted to making jungle as it always has such a nice feeling. I have made dnb and jungle for many years and can't ever stop
Wicked! Wicked! Jungelist massiv!

Im in my 60,s and making dance music. When do you think you will stop?
Keep up the good work.
Love this one, you have come so far since cooking on a laptop and mini keyboard.
The moment you did the lead melody i knew its gonna be fire as hell
When I heard the 2nd one on your ig stories I knew it was gonna be mint 🔥🔥 ngl I prefer you doing the electronic music stuff now you’re great at it 🌊🌊🌊
Sounds of 93 Ram and Moving Shadow coming through on that first tune. That second one.. man.. yeah.. def Hospital vibes due to the vocals.
Big up junglist massive! Been into jungle for longer than I'd like to admit. Nice job on your tracks
Good stuff man. When I began learning music production I used to play around with Jungle. Always loved the fast drums and complimentary basslines. My love for it has now evolved towards dark drum & bass.
Nah.. this is just fire my dude!
I love your videos going more and more into electronic music!!!

Second track was straight up fire my bro would love that has a full track!!
The only part you need to change is the 808 into a saw synth like dnb bass and then the whole track is complete bro! 🔥🔥
🔥🔥🔥 I’ve always wanted to see you make jungle man it’s one of my favourite genres
Tarzan would love hanging in trees while this plays in background of some deep jungles
ocean you are a inspiration and an idol for me as a producer
i first chopped up breaks as separate audio regions but now i always put it in quick sampler in slice mode, it's a lot easier to chop up and it makes it much easier to make really fast stuff for glitchier sounds
ah you did something similar in the second track
I love me some good ol' classic dub samplin' jungle, man.
I thought you had Will and Saul on your channel when I saw the thumbnail. That would have been a big coo even though they aren't 90s Jungle. Your beat is banging and has a modern take on the Jungle sound. All the best with your first single 👊
it's so nice seeing another logic user!!! just watched ur brazilian funk one, ima subscribe youre really skilled at whatever you do
hard video I like seeing man producing more of these types of uk genres 🔥
That second one bangs
I need to try this. I love remixes to songs like this, you killed that Drake remix!
Swap the vocals for some 90s Dancehall/Lovers Rock vocal samples and take it from a 9 to a 100.
Both beats are amazing, I love that u sampled Over My Dead Body by Drake. That's one of my favorite songs by him. I also pre-saved ur new single
Man you're doing some 🔥🔥🔥 when experimenting with genres
