Hello everyone! Hope you enjoyed the Fontaine fanmade theme! I know Sumeru is coming but hey why not do a Fontaine theme haha. I had so much fun creating this track since it’s a little bit different than my usual epic versions. I’m currently experimenting a lot with my compositions and play more with the dynamics of the track.
The main inspiration for this cover is taken from film soundtracks that depicts 19th century of France or England (Sherlock Holmes etc.) so I listened to a couple of Sherlock Holmes soundtracks, both the series and films (which Hans Zimmer composed for the film). I wanted to grab the playfulness and/or the cheekiness feeling of my reference tracks and incorporated it to the Fontaine theme.
The original one sounded solemn and dramatic (Genshin’s Travail Trailer), but as we all know Sumeru also sounded epic and intense in the trailer but hearing the final versions of the Sumeru theme, it sounded more majestic and magical so I have an assumption the final version of Fontaine’s theme will be different and I hope it’s more playful (but come on now, every music Hoyomix and Yu Peng Chen release is always a banger so.. we’ll see haha)
Anyways that’s a bit off a behind the scenes explanation for today’s cover and I hope you enjoyed listening and I wish you a fantastic day everyone!
I think it's France because Fontaine's theme sounds like the melody "Aquarium" (to me anyway) by Camille Saint-Saëns who is a French composer. It's also perhaps a mixture of France and England? Also nice work!!

I really hope we get to meet some characters that are really nice, but are actually total scumbags who are great at hiding it. Makes it more fittings since their main issue would be injustice

You were absolutely right! Could never expect the plot twist.
Imagine we failed to free Sumeru from their constant memory wiping thanks to the Akademiya utilizing the Akasha Terminals to do so. Sumeru is on fire and Nahida has sacrificed herself fighting, maybe, Dottore. And the ending of the Sumeru Archon Quest ends up being us getting sent straight to Fontaine not just to look for the Hydro Archon... But to also face justice because of the death count in Sumeru.

its scary how close the vibe of this fan made one is to the official fontaine tracks. also thought something like this would be played for Furina and Arlechinno meeting.....

It is supposed to be the Nation of Justice, but as i remember, their biggest problem is Injustice and their new Archon it could be evil

I think the issue we will face will either be:
•Injustice like you said (perhaps false convictions because of manipulation from the Fatui?)
•Energy Crisis (we have heard of this quite a bit from NPCs who talk about how people have had to scramble for other sources of power)
•Travellers Persecution (i dont think this is as likely because we already kind of had this for Inazuma's story)
Fontaine will have a steampunk vibe, I imagine a huge city with many cars and airships and something like a tower in the center of the city like paris
I imagine venice river town.
Hello I'm from future, The fontaine is release, Even thought it doesn't have anything you said like car and and airship, But it's still worth to check out, the official fontaine place [The steampunk part are actually real, but only the underground part]
The steampunk vibe is great, but I did not expect it to also feel a bit "tense"/"serious" with the clock's ticking (especially when the instruments kick in around 1:03)! It sounds very fitting to what we know about Fontaine for now, and it's a great mix of "playful" and "serious". Honestly I can't find any fitting words so I'll end it off saying: great as always, can't wait for more from you!
Ayy glad you enjoyed it D4M5! It was really tricky on what atmosphere should I go for when it comes to Fontaine, all we know is that there’s a lot of fancy machineries from there haha so I guess steampunk should do it. Thank you for listening as always!

even though the the official one is out this one is actually really good, it even has the unintentional detail of time is running out with the ticking clock, like the archon quest
Thank you! The clock ticking sound was intentional as I imagined Fontaine with a steampunk vibe. So the mechanical ticking of the clock really suits it in my head hahah

I really liked the ticking sound! It definitely gives off a steampunk-clock-gears vibe, just like the latest event (where you arrange the gears). It feels like there's a mystery afoot! Amazing work 👏 👏

Very well done! I feel a hint of mystery, like a 1900s set detective show. Also nice choice having Keqing there, since she hints her clothes come from Fontaine, calling it an "Imported style."

I love it ! Really like the fact that the Fontaine theme is really close to Signora Theme , I image Columbina being the vilain in Fontaine , seeking revenge for the death of Signora.

I like the clock-ticking/metronome/gears sound present in basically the whole theme. It's a nice touch remniscent of the machinery we've seen so far from the Fontaine-related events. Very nice touch. And thank you for mentioning your inspirations; I'm always curious about how these themes are created!
Just some Fontaine ramblings: I predict we'll be seeing Sandrone for sure (machinery), probably Dottore (again, machinery), possibly Pantalone (money, corruption of justice) or Arlecchino (just seems really good at lying), and maybe we'll get a hint of Columbina, though I don't think we'll get another Big One until later. It's a bit early to speculate ofc, lol, but I don't think there's going to be much Abyssal stuff until the later updates (perhaps Focalors fears Celestia's 'justice?' Khaenri'ah-related stuff? Celestial nails?)
edit: Lyney's colors look similar to Columbina and Arlecchino's. Probably doesn't mean anything and is just basic show/performance-related colors, but you never know with Hoyo.

I have a feeling we’ll battle either Dottore or Sandrone in Fontaine, I think we’ll meet Columbina there as well. But I have a strong feeling that Sandrone is like the Tartaglia of Fontaine (heavily involved with the AQ etc.)

Is this inspired by the first Signora boss theme? I sometimes cannot overhear a similarity to it. Nonetheless, this piece of art defenitely is one of the best Fan-Made Soundtracks I have encountered so far. I love the Col Legno on the strings - thats what I think the clock-like sound is made of - in combination of the snare in the backround. Those periodic pushes on the off beat make it feel like you are in the house of a passionate inventor. That would perfectly fit into Fontaines image since it has a steampunk style and is known to be the "most" technically advanced nation of the seven. Also, what I personally value very much, is the high quality of the instruments/synthezisers(?) which is rare for Fan-Made Soundtracks.

This was not inspired by Signora's first boss theme rather I was inspired by France/England in the 19th centuries (like Sherlock Holmes etc.) but I'm curious on what part did you hear the similarities with Signora's theme haha. Also, you almost got it correct with the clock-like sound, it's a Pizzicato Bartok (it does sound similar to Col Legno though).

Can you make OST theme for Natlan (the most mysterious region in the game cause no NPC in game from there) and also a theme for Khaenri'ah too (sometimes I want to commemorate the Black Serpent Knights in the Chasm too, their fates are so dark)

There actually is one NPC from Natlan in the game, that being a man in Inazuma City who runs a bathhouse
@@Nekiplex Nope, he is an Inazuman, just look at his name, he just happened to visit Natlan once in the past and had the luxury to bath in "volcanic hot spring" there

I have an idea that the nation is very primitive/uncivilised (hence the ideal of war). No one leaves because you dont go on a vacation during wartime, do you? Especially if you're one of the ones fighting

I anticipate that the Hydro Archon will be misguided or oblivious to the current affairs in Fontaine, or that the Hydro Archon is deliberately turning a blind eye from the problem and ultimate be forced into a position where she must cast her divine judgment.

Fontaine is based on France in the 19th century. Fontaine is fountain in English. France is renowned for its complex legal system, like in the game. Fontaine is the nation of Justice. I don’t know if you’ve seen the recent logo leak :( SPOIL !!! )
We can see a inverted lily flower, symbol of royal monarchy of France. And two mermaid for representation of hydro element and maybe… duality ???
