@@Wykes For Braver you're more than welcome to go Full Dex Mag. If you have noticed, in the Bravers Skill Tree there is a Skill you can learn that will convert 100% of the Dex Stats you get into both Melee AND Ranged damage. And to increase Dex is simply feeding it Photon Disc which is MUCH easier to do and easier to get. The only downfall is, since you can only have 1 Free Mag to begin with, if you do this that mag will only be viable for Bouncer and Braver. If you planned play Hunter, Fighter, etc etc that uses Melee attack, they'll get zero damage from this so this is really the only downfall. Not sure how Dex works with ranged jobs.

@@happyhealsgaming7614 The good thing about the dex is the characters that has the skill in the skill tree that converts the stats, like, I am playing braver in the moment too, but if i want to play ranger, i can make the braver a sub class and have the stats for ranger damage, and if i want to play force, I can make bouncer a subclass. The same will go when phantom comes out, it will be really good to have him for subclass in every class. This is because i am a free player, but making another 2 characters and having it the class u want with the proper subclass and mag is good too.

Even though I See alot of youtube videos, I still see people use the base weapons the Main Class uses, and along with that I wasn't sure if EVERYTHING from teh subclass applied to your main class. I found Summoner the easiest to level up a TEC mag as candy increase TEC stat and completely wipes the dex progress (even the low 3 star gummy) that you get from feeding it TEC weapons, and those candies only drop if you play summoner.
Saved my life. Accidentally fed my melee mag a ranged weapon and it was already at lv.160. It is now a 197 MEL / 3 RNG mag... Yeah. Was gonna' live with it, but I see you can fix it with a level down device.

I remember when i was trying out the game in JP i saw the Mag for the first time, I don't know what it reminded me of. But i grabbed my phone and googled how Mags work because i didn't see a reset button and i got scared. And that's how i started to look far and wide for all the discs in the world.
Dang I already messed up lmao. I ended up using atk and dex. I was going for attack but thought I should use dex aswell because of the power mag skill on braver
Summoner is underrated in terms of how potent it can be. I’m a ranger Techer and my buddy is a summoner and loves it. He wrecks though . Most enemies even are hardcore just basically fall to our feet.
im pretty new to the game but i noticed there is somewhat of a shortcut for tech. if you feed your mag sweets it only raises tech, but mine is still below 100 so i don't know whether it would change at a higher level if that is a thing.
To Expand on devices. You can also buy them from player shops for usually around 20k-25K Meseta per device ~1M Meseta for 50. The Arks Mission you need to complete for the Mag Raising Set is "Reach Level 30" This mission will unlock after you complete the Sub Class client order from Coffi.
Huge question Azel, or anyone: I have 2 in dex and like 20 in RNG attack and I'm only going to be putting points in RNG attack. Does this mean my mag is completely useless and I need to scrap it? :C Have I already ruined everything?
You can get an item that reduces the level of your Mag stats. They are expensive for a lot of them but for only fixing a couple stats it's not bad at all. Look into it.
as a summoner main the best and easiet way to get teck is to feed the meg candy sticks you cna also feed it weapons and one candy stick to remove the dex from the weapons and it still gives you teck while clensing the dex so you can feed it 2 weapons and one stick for easy leveling
So only certain stats matter to each class, thus your characters can only reap full benefits if you boost those stats. And the way you break down the stats, they make sense for their given class. Well done.
A nice addition would be that you can feed a TECH mag shifta/deband items from the shop (200cc) and save some money instead of buying trimate or furniture.

This and your beginneers guide have saved me from SO many mistakes for sure! I only have one question so far but what is the purpose of a Dex mag? I get that the other 3 boost my primary damage stat depending on my class, but why would I use a dex mag? Keep up the good work!
Dex mags are for the hybrid classes like Braver, bouncer and phantom. They have a passive ability that adds a portion of the user's Dex to both melee and ranged( for braver), melee and tec (for bouncer) and all three for phantom. This can be useful if you're going for a hybrid build but generally you'll choose one main stat instead depending on your chosen weapon. For example, a katana braver would use a melee mag and a bow braver would use a ranged mag. If you wanted to hybrid and use both, you'd use dex.
Your examples compare having a PURE MAG against having NO MAG at all. As the stats go if you are not worried about 100% maximizing your damage, going nuts over 20-40 lost points becomes less of a concern. Unless I am mistaken and this affects more than your stat stick?
well started pso2 couple of days ago, used to play pso on og xbox and so what i got from this is i already messed up my mag so ether make a new character and decide if its gonna be meele range or tech or spend a lot of time and resources leveling it down or fork over some money and buy a new one from the shop witch is the scummiest of moves
I started on NA and my character storage is like 90% discs. I cant wait for it to hit 200 dex so my inventory gets freed up. I know I don't need to hoard so many, but I feel better that I do, so when my mag is yelling that it wants food I can feed it.
Very minor, but there is merchant in the shopping plaza who sell disc for 500 meseta (So, 1500 to fully feed mag) if youre worried about never having discs when you need them. 1500 meseta is pretty simple to come by and you can just pass by the plaza in between quest to get the discs rather than using up all of your storage space if thats troubling you.
@@freeme123go8 I know, but I always end up short on Meseta regardless of how much I save up. I feel the meseta is more valuable than storage space at this point oddly enough.

What about if you eventually play another class? Surely that means the mag you've built for melee (for example) will be useless for a range class. What options are there then?
I cri 125 s+atk and 75 dex. What a confused soul I was. No matter what guide I went on I was told different answers for different reasons. BUT HEY grinding Ex cubes will be fun!
Don't know if it was changed, but my secondary character is level 15 and went through the beginner mag stuff, yet I don't have a second mag training kit. I also haven't done anything outside of the main early turn in stuff for Afin, lol
Hello, a JP player here based on what i know, the Dexterity in pso2 increases the minimum damage of your attacks. Or to make it simple, it decreases the gap between your minimum attack and maximum attack damage. As pure stats, the dex doesn't really matter that much since most weapons (the non extended / crafted ones) have a normal range of 95% min and 100% max attack power (or was it between 90% and 100%, i forgot. But it should be around those values). While crafted ones are between 10% and 100%. Dex is usually converted into attack stats via class mag skills. The classes that utilizes this are Bouncer, Braver, and Phantom
Would a DEX mag be useful for every class and weapon-type? I mean... DEX increases the minimum amount of damage you can deal on every weapon iirc. Correct me if im wrong pls.
DEX raising your minimum damage is extremely minimal, almost even negligent, you're better off building for the specific attack(s) that your weapon utilizes rather than try a "one size fits all approach". DEX Mags are most useful for classes that have a skill where they allocate the points from your DEX Mag to the class's attack stats. Currently this is only for Braver and Bouncer, but when Phantom arrives it has this too. (To explain how it works, a Braver with 200 DEX Mag gets both 200 S-Atk AND 200 R-Atk).
I think it's a little dishonest to show mate items reducing less DEX than room goods. The reduction rate is the same. Also, while it might not be important for NA currently, for the DEX mag, feeding it a custom disc increases the DEX FAR more than a regular disc. Another thing I noticed (which is more important than increasing your damage), is that weapons have stat requirements so, using your Fi/Hu as an example, if a weapon required 950 S-ATK to be equipped, you wouldn't be able to equip it without at least 150 S-ATK in your mag. Outside those few things, I think you did a great job explaining how mags work for new players.
I think I have like 20 something dex in my tech mag is that a big deal I don’t think I’ll be doing the endgame of endgame stuff, at least not for now so is it fine for me to just throw tech weapons at my mag and be ok?

go rewatch around the 5:55 mark. you need to keep your 5 star furnishings to get range stat boosted but also reduce the lvl in dex.

At this point I'll just accept that my mag has some dex in it since I like to use my gunslash/gunblade from time to time.

At the very least it's fixable to an extent, long term you'll be fine! Excubes are a lot more common than you think 😊

i think Shifta drink at Ep3 NA still at 20% as in Jp it took ep6 to get it up to 50% shifta drink

DEX raising your minimum damage is extremely minimal, almost even negligent, you're better off building for the specific attack(s) that your weapon utilizes rather than try a "one size fits all approach".
DEX Mags are most useful for classes that have a skill where they allocate the points from your DEX Mag to the class's attack stats. Currently this is only for Braver and Bouncer, but when Phantom arrives it has this too.
(To explain how it works, a Braver with 200 DEX Mag gets both 200 S-Atk AND 200 R-Atk).
I think it's a little dishonest to show mate items reducing less DEX than room goods. The reduction rate is the same. Also, while it might not be important for NA currently, for the DEX mag, feeding it a custom disc increases the DEX FAR more than a regular disc. Another thing I noticed (which is more important than increasing your damage), is that weapons have stat requirements so, using your Fi/Hu as an example, if a weapon required 950 S-ATK to be equipped, you wouldn't be able to equip it without at least 150 S-ATK in your mag. Outside those few things, I think you did a great job explaining how mags work for new players.
Wait I'm confused. If you have stats in striking defense wont that take away from striking attack? So why would I use anything that raises the defense
ahh question still a bit new is it better i put dex type of mag on BR rather than an Satk type of mag?

I think I have like 20 something dex in my tech mag is that a big deal I don’t think I’ll be doing the endgame of endgame stuff, at least not for now so is it fine for me to just throw tech weapons at my mag and be ok?
Mag abilities and photon arts would make for another good video...
