The way I see it, Fern has been traveling for years with Frieren, who would sleep in late every day if allowed. Frieren would waste a whole bunch of Ferns time if Fern would let her. She kind of has to be a hard ass about not sleeping in or they wouldn't ever get anything done. She understands why Frieren is the way she is so there's not much point in bringing it up all the time, but that would still be frustrating to constantly have to wake your traveling companion up every day so her frustration builds up until she explodes. I think she sees Stark as "normal" like her so she gets frustrated with him when he acts like Frieren. She could communicate better, but I think you need to remember the morning scenes from the 3rd episode and imagine Fern doing that every day for years on end.
Fern is a young teenage girl who has always (at least after she lived with Heiter) lived with adults and has not had friends her age. It's tough enough being a teenager, and not having anyone to talk to her and help her through it isn't helping. Then there's her growing relationship with Stark when both of them have no clue how to handle it, or even understand that it is happening. Frieren has had many decades to slowly sort out how she feels and learn to have personal relationships while poor Fern, in normal human fashion, has to figure it out in a few years. Both of them are on a similar journey.
13:15 Sense is pronounced as "Zenze" both in this show and in German. Most of the names of towns and characters in this show is in German (sometimes with Japanese pronunciation, but most are kept close to German as the VA could).

In the flashback with Himmel, that was actually the little girl who grew up to be the herbalist in episode 2.

Fern's passive aggressive knock tells a whole story on its own. It deserves a spin off series. And for those who say Frieren does not develop as a character. Remember the earlier episode, how she looked. Now she almost cried when Fern was mad at her. Show don't tell! Also don't forger - Ferm is a teenager struggling with her feelings. The fact she is easily annoying is a consequence of this. Also it providers more layers to her character - stoic and collective in fight mode, and real life teen orphan girl while she is on day to day tasks. She is annoying teen.
The old lady basically paid Richter in candy....
The flashback is just one of the many monsters or demons they defeated on their journey.
we're definitely curious to see more of these flashbacks in s2!

Hopefully we see more of Fern's past, but I get the feeling it was very orderly & precise. Heiter & Frieren aren't very structured, so she could mother hen the two of them.

I see that you struggle with the pronunciation of Serie. If you pronounce in spanish, it will sound pretty close to the japanese pronunciation.
It's German, like all other character names and place names in this show. Serie ｢ゼーリエ Zērie｣ both in German and Japanese in this show pronounces it as Zee-ri-ye.
