Top 1 thing(s) you SHOULD do in Terraria. 1. Enter the dungeon without defeating Skeletron It's actually a strat to defeat Skeletron early by going below 0' depth to summon him any time, as well as better loot. He is easier, as he has no arms. Thanks for reading! I hope that if you agree, you (never) take my advice again!
Thanks, I defeated the dungeon guardian with a copper shortsword and now has a cool pet. But it seems that there's more skeletron heads everytime I kill one?
the first thing you say: "don't use hotbar space for things you have a hotkey for like potions, use the hotbar for other hotkey items like torches" *facepalm*
using shift can be a problem if you fall to a place with no light, because if you are hovering over blocks it takes out a mining tool instead of the light source.
MrBoomy37 Easily avoided, just move your cursor few pixels up and you can place a torch again (or if it's going to be a problem, never happened to me though, you can throw a glowstick)
Or.. you can just let people play however they want. I mean, I keep health potions *and* torches in my hotbar and I don't feel greatly inconvenienced by it.
+PengoZ I just create a 2-wide hole and throw in bombs to destroy their biomes permanently lol, I LOVE bombs. Keep one you've got easy access to for emergency silk though
I only recommend restricting yourself to a class as a beginner if you're planning on dedicating some time to the game. If you restrict yourself through damage types then you'll familiarize yourself with items you may normally overlook if you simply do whatever you want. Damage type - or "Class" restricting potentially adds more replayability as well as a more likely chance to discover something you may not of seen before. But that's my opinion.
Speaking of light, don't forget about the mining helmet. I buy it as early as possible in the game, and find it useful all through easy mode. I only switch out for a defense helmet when I know a major battle is coming up. I would also say unless you are playing a class challenge, don't forget the usefulness of minions. Even if you aren't playing a summoner class you can make use of a summoning staff like the hornet staff or the imp staff for at least one minion to fight for you. (Two with a bewitching table.) You can still wear any armor and use any weapons you like. It's very helpful especially when you want to focus on work/building and not have to personally fight every slime that comes along.
Hallow is a good biome. It takes over the Crimson/Corruption, NPCs will live there, it's pretty, and the dryad doesn't care if the world is 100% hallow.
Saxton Hale the dryad does care about what % hollow ur world is plus there are dangerous monsters that live there early hardmode and it's counted as an evil biome so yea...
Another tip for PC, Only put your hammer in your hotbar. If you hold shift over a block, it will automatically bring out the tool to mine the block you're hovering over. The only reason you need a hammer in your hotbar is background walls, which cannot be mined by holding shift.
Spelling error on one of the titles, I spent a few hours working on the video, and thought everything was covered. Today has been exhausting, and I slipped a little
I have 450+ hours on terraria and I’d have to say that most of these tips can be useful for new players but even now I don’t like to have a safe and piggy bank on me I prefer to just have a money trough or however you spell the second word
I usually go classless pre hardmode, then after the first hardmode boss (Most likely twins, I find it easiest) I most likely get a class (ranged or summon FTW)
christian mcgregor ranged is VERY fun. PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW BANG BANG PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW BANG BANG BANG PEW BBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM I feel I have proven my point.
1.make another map so when you are out of wood you can go to the other map and get your wood 2.make sure to use buff potions against bosses and learn how to craft at least the simplest and most important swiftness, regeneration and iron skin potions these potions will help you a lot in pre hardmode and in hardmode 3.always mine the lead/iron when you see it like really lead/iron is the most important ore in the game it is used all game from just starting out to using it to make hardmode bosses so the more the better 4.try to get 15 diamonds for the second best hook, the diamond hook, it has the second longest reach out of all the hooks and you can get it with luck at the start of the map,if you can't find enough diamonds underground go get fossil from the desert and process it through the extractinator it is totally worth it because you don't really need another hook until the end game when the steampunk is gonna sell you a better one 5.try to go fishing before you fight wall of flesh so you can save over 30 crates so when you start hardmode you can open them and get lots of hardmode ores which will grant a massive boost right at the start of hardmode
"most of the armours' set bonus dont take any effect on one specific type of weapon" Excuse me, but that isn't the point. The armors themselves have specific bonuses for certain classes of weapons. You should try to specialize yourself so you can have more damage, while having more variety *in that weapon class.*
Theres a hot key for torches/anything light related as well, just hold shift and move your cursor to a surface or off in the distance if you have flares.
Tip 1: even if you are console I would highly recommend setting desired potions to slots on the D-Pad, or just press the auto buff button. You can save 4 items (one I like to keep as the magic mirror) and it will also automatically drink potions when the button is pressed
I'm not sure if you were aware but you don't need to keep your torches In the hot bar either. when they are in the inventory you can press shift and move the mouse arrow out a little further them mining distance and you can place them, if you move it further and you have the flare gun you can fire it. :)
3:09, if you are a more advance player I would recommend you choose what class you are aiming for before beating the wall of flesh, so upon killing the wall of flesh you can try and get the right emblem/weapon, but it’s up to your preference.
i liked how you mentioned the class challange, i do that very often with my friends cause it makes u fight less over who should get what weapon. also, very nice that u mention constuctive critisism is allowed, some people cant take critisism even though your just tryna help.. very noice video overall :p
"If a House is located near Corruption or Crimson, it may become uninhabitable. If these spread near an occupied House, the NPC living there may move out and wander the area until a new House becomes available." From the wiki.
Thank you for the wonderful feedback! I'm not the best myself, so to criticize anyone it would clearly make me a bad hypocrite. Same goes to other aspects as well, everyone has their own opinions and that's fine I just agree to disagree.
No need to leave the pickaxe/axe, torches and glowing sticks on the hotbar, if you hold shift when close to a block and with the mouse on it, you'll switch to the pickaxe, same thing with the axe but pointing at trees instead. If you're not pointing at any blocks (doesn't matter if there's walls or not), holding shift switches to the torches when the mouse is close enough to the character, when it's further away or you're underwater, it switches to the glowing sticks. Plus, toggling ctrl is also very useful, helps a lot when digging/mining, using the hammer to smash walls or cutting trees, and when placing tree saps and walls.
also use keep torches and tools (axes pickaxes etc.) out of your hotbar because you can press shift and your game will pull up the appropriate item (axe if the cursor is over a tree, pickaxe if the cursor is over a block, torch if the cursor is within placement range for a torch but not over a minable block, glowstick if the cursor is out of mining/building range.)
0:40 use your hot bar for things like torches *doesn’t realize there a hot key for them* but don’t put potions in there because there’s a hot key for that.
Not being restricted to a class really helps, I suggest getting a nights edge early, use a gun as well against the wof. Once I hit hard mode, since I got a clockwork assault rifle and rangers emblem, uses that and frost Armor right up until Plantera.
Oh well I can still get loads with 193 platinum coins 😂😂 I accidentally found out how to get unlimited truffle worms with a bug net and I made over 1000 plat. coins, but my file save corrupted 😭😭
I found the weapons tip to be very helpful in the sense that I now know that I need to create a class instead of just using any weapon that I find. Thank you for the informational video.
About first point, torches also have their own hotkey :D (which is also smart) just press shift on a wall or some terrain, it will pick torch or glowstick if underwater
It's really telling that your's is the most broadly informative (tutorial-like?) and helpful video on the subject of Terraria. For example, I had nowhere near this much trouble learning how to play Minecraft from TH-cam. Thanks for a great video.
I dunno about light pets - I just buy the miner's helment from merchant, that gives more light than some of those light pets you can get and you don't have to worry about light source's position - light pets move specificly to be behind you, which means they light up what's infront of you less. And yes, you have to sacrifice the helmet armor slot for it - but is it that big of a deal?
3:15 Actually, me and my 2 friends are doing a private multiplayer world where all of us get the main classes. One is Mage who gets Magic and Summoner weapons, I am the ranger and I can get Bows, Guns, and throwing items, and my other friend gets all things with melee damage. We are currently on the Skeletron Prime fight (Already beat Twins and Destroyer) It's actually really hard. Not only are we confined to our classes, We are also playing on Expert mode. Not to mention with 3 people the monsters do more damage and there spawn rate is increased by quite a lot. It's fun though, good to go through terraria with a challenge.
I usually put a stack of gel in the ammo slot, and bring a stack of wood. That way I can save 1 inventory slot, but also have blocks/torches available in no time. (p.s. I mean in early game)
To add on to the food part, if you place your merchant in a snow biome, you can buy a marshmallow from him and craft a marshmallow on a stick that you can roast over a fireplace.
Personally, I recommend categorizing your items and making specific chests for them (for example, have seperate chests for minerals, weapons, potions etc.) as soon as possible. Just putting all your stuff in the same chest will make finding specific items very tedious later in the game.
The number one thing to remember is "always play on the PC version, not any of the others". PC version has hotkeys, the updates are released way earlier than in other versions, does console or mobile even have 1.3 yet? There's also the mods.
0:23 i disagree if you have them in ur hot bar high light it and drop an item in your inventory u use the poition and then you can do it without having to wait on the cool down
On #4 one of the best tips i highly recommend is to make a snow house for the merchant to move in so he sells you marshmallows. With a marshmallow and a piece of wood you can roast it over a campfire. It will help you
I have a tip for people from personal experience: Don't underestimate any class. I've played all of them and, while I will gladly say range is my favorite, they are all powerful and have their own ups and downs. I will gladly list them here now. Melee: The most basic of classes, it has about what you'd expect. Fast attack rate, high damage, short range, and a few blades may make a projectile. Effects come from imbuement (witch doctor) Great for new or casual players. Range: While weaker than melee, it has (what else) long range, as well as various effects based on the bullet used. Can have vast reserves that last for a long while, but gets greatly weakened if reduced the the endless ammo items. Magic: Like range, this is generally weaker than melee and has a limited reserve of ammo. The difference here is that the ammo reserves are consistently small but do regenerate and can be refilled with a potion. Effects come from item. Summon: Not going to lie, I underestimated this one my self for a good while. However, summon class also has its ups and downs. While an individual summon is weaker than any of the classes mentioned earlier, you get several, adding up to a powerful entity that attacks independent of player input. Effects come from summons. Best used with at least one sub-class.
Tip for number 3: during a blood moon, drippers and blood zombies have a 0.5 chance (1/200) to drop a money trough. This spawns a portable piggy bank where you can store your items without having to bring a piggy bank, or anything for it to stand on. Edit: Drippers spawned by statues only have a 0.025 (0.05 for expert) to drop a Money Trough. It can also be obtained pre-hardmode but can not be put in a pet slot.
Another thing you shouldn't do is forget you can put gel & stars in your ammo bar, especially if you don't ranger. Also, don't forget to create a 3-wide hellevator on the edge of your jungle, to fill with non-corruptible materials (like wood or glass). Jungle, saved. However, extend this up a few to keep the vines from infecting above the quarantine zone. Also, if you meet an NPC underground & have a lot of vendor trash, don't neglect selling it. You can get a little more gold & some more inventory space for exploring. Also, you could maybe buy some stuff you'd need. BTW, H helped me survive some.
Several items especially on higher levels Like Level 3 of Celestial shell You need level 2 accresories that is Celestial stone + Moon shell And from level 1 sun and moon stone and Moon charm and neptune shell And some effects can create unique mechanic For example magic cuffs turns damage into mana (full damage before defense reduces this damage) its rather useful when you have healing armors like palladium, spectre
Honestly, not a lot of people know about the magic lamp light pet even though it provides a great effect. It provides the spelunker effect around you it doesn't go as far as a spelunker potion but it is defiantly still very helpful, even though it does not produce a lot of light I still find it helpful for mining ores.
Also, unlike elementalfact0r said, you should NOT put torches in your hotbar, if you press shift while your cursor is on anyting besides a solid block, it will show a light, weather glowstick or torch. Also if the cursor is too far away from the player when you hit shift, it will always pull out a light, starting with the glowsticks, and then the torches.
what about the fact that you can favorite items, that's useful and holding shift for torches to save on hotbar space also speaking of saving space on the hotbar is why have your magic mirror on there 1. you can accidentally use it if it's on your hotbar so then you'd be out of a boss fight or you'd teleport away from a nice cave system 2. you can have more weapons/tools on your hotbar if you don't have the magic mirror on there like the hammer or the rod of discord
0:20 secs (for pc users dont have potions in your hotbar) on console too idk about mobile but on xbox terraria you just press ''x'' to activate all potions but the healing potions
A lot of these are for new players since most people have realized these after a day of playing, also I find the Suspicious Looking Tentacle to be the most useful because of the amount of buffs you get from it.
About the food: after you defeat the first boss and you get the dryad, cultivate pumpkins until EXPLODE because the pumpkin pie is the longest-lasting food in Terraria with it's 45 PUMPKINING MINUTES (and the pumpkin seeds are pretty cheap so you can last without food for literary 2 DAYS and it's pre-hardmode, i don''t want to imagino how much a food would last if were hardmode or Post-Plantera O_O)
To get more light(this is just a opinion) get a Suspicious looking mushroom from the Truffle npc,the Baby Truffle is not a Light pet but give light, you can it on the pet slot and equip a light pet
Just saying I put my healing potions on my hot bar because when I press the thing that stacks all items in you inventory in nearby chests all my healing potions get tossed into chests so I don’t notice but, if you have it in hot bar they don’t stack
I have bound mouse wheel click to smart cursor, f to buff, mouse button 4 to heal and mb5 to mana. Q to hook and e to inventory. I find it more comfortable having all of my keys close.
elementalfact0r, you can't make someone live in a corruption or crimson biome, it will always notify 'this housing is corrupted' like when you're missing something for the house, like: 'this house is missing a chair/table.
you can also transfer items from world to world with a piggy bank and safe but only for one character. useful if u have to transfer alotta stuff from one world to another
1. No potions on hot bar 0:24 2. Don't ignore hot keys 0:49 3. Don't forget space from piggy bank & safe (He forgot defender's forge) 1:23 4. Don't neglect food 2:08 5. Don't be restricted to one class early 2:59 6. Don't just throw npc's anywhere 4:00 7. Always get light pets 4:50 8. Don't forget to reforge 5:42 9. Remember to stock up on torches 6:30 10. Don't forget the Tinkerer's Workbench 7:15 I think you should rephrase your title. Since you can't say that you "shouldn't do" #7 and #9 with this title. Only feel like 1, 3 and 4 are acceptable. You should laready know the others. Even if you are a beginner. Basic knowledge for a gamer.
to the newbie warriors out there (if you choose to be) range isn't a bad thing it may be Kinda uncommon (not rare though) to have a melee weapon that doubles as a ranged weapon (the Enchanted Sword for example) but later on range over closeness can help you depending on the weapon. if the sword or melee weapon does both range and melee damage, then ranged attacks may help you in the long run, especially to endgame for the Moon Lord battle. If you do happen to need to put closeness over range, then consider the changes of receiving damage and dying to be higher than it would with a melee weapon with the ability to work from a distance.
elementalfact0r And also, when I go into hard mode, am I ready? I'm also scared of corruption crimson or hallow spreading too much. My set is: Unpleasant nights edge, Molten pick, Molten hamaxe, Waterbolt, (mythical) Demonic aquastaff, Imp staff, Full molten armour, Mini shark, Superior musket, Meteor bullets, My accessories are Warding cloud in a balloon, Warding spectral boots I think, Warding climbing claws, And warding magic carpet, Also warding magic cobalt shield.
You're not restricted to a class **period**, though. Mage armor still lets you use a sword for backup. Summoners can use mage gear/melee as backups. etc.
I never actually use torches outside of my base and stuff, I almost immediately get the mining helmet and easily have more shine potions than I can use by the time I'd better have a complete set of armor. I do like to spam torches around demon altars if I'm not in hardmode yet, maybe there's a more distinct map pixel I could use though
>use hotkeys >puts torches into toolbar you know you can pull out torch/glowstick/flare gun(depending on distance from character and if you are in water) by pressing shift
A good tip is to dye your light pet (such as the shadow orb) yellow. This seems to brighten the light given and make the early game light pets more useful!
Top 1 thing(s) you SHOULD do in Terraria.
1. Enter the dungeon without defeating Skeletron
It's actually a strat to defeat Skeletron early by going below 0' depth to summon him any time, as well as better loot. He is easier, as he has no arms.
Thanks for reading! I hope that if you agree, you (never) take my advice again!
597 he's " easier " but can 1 hit u
Thanks, I defeated the dungeon guardian with a copper shortsword and now has a cool pet. But it seems that there's more skeletron heads everytime I kill one?
HJMobileGamer its a bug. hopefully it will get fixed
Amazing advice for a person who's played for 2 years :-< 0========|===========>
Thank for telling me!!!ii! Trying now
the first thing you say:
"don't use hotbar space for things you have a hotkey for like potions, use the hotbar for other hotkey items like torches"
*facepalm*
XD
Mulakulu what? I don't understand
Skyler Rasmussen if you hold down shift and hold your mouse next to a block, you'll place down a torch
I still prefer to keep my torches in the hotbar though, just so I can place them manually
Mulakulu
Lol
11. for all minecraft players, DONT use an axe to cut wood
(note that I said WOOD not TREES)
oh, I remember when I found my first living tree and the axe didn't cut it, I was confused for a minute then I switched to my pickaxe
I figured that out minutes after I got the game... I was like, My game is broken mom! Then I tried hammers then picks.
That got me too when I started. And even a few people I introduced the game to I believe.
Ahahaha
That used to work. The thing that got me is that I couldn't figure out how to make wooden planks.
Tip 1.5: don't use torches & glowsticks on your hotbar, use shift.
using shift can be a problem if you fall to a place with no light, because if you are hovering over blocks it takes out a mining tool instead of the light source.
MrBoomy37 Easily avoided, just move your cursor few pixels up and you can place a torch again (or if it's going to be a problem, never happened to me though, you can throw a glowstick)
Just move your cursor towards the sides of your screen, so that's it's no longer inside your mining range.
not to mention, with shift, you also don't need you axe or pickaxe on your hotbar, freeing up even MORE hotbar slots.
Or.. you can just let people play however they want.
I mean, I keep health potions *and* torches in my hotbar and I don't feel greatly inconvenienced by it.
About the steampunker, you can only get crimson/corruption solution if there's a blood moon or solar eclipse
This is true, I got my info mixed up. Since I can't put annotations up on this vid, you get pinned!
It's the first time i get pinned, i can die happy now :)
;)
The Nope Engie I am a Mage only
marcia brown-bryan STOP SPAMMING THAT YOU AND YOUR LITTLE FRIENDS!!!!!
The greatest tip of all: Enjoy the game. Yes, the game can be a mix of emotions at times, but do try to enjoy the experience.
Arrow Slayer Yeah.
yeah
WOW FAKE THEY PATCHED THIS ONE OUT SERIOUSLY
Arrow Slayer as long as i dont run into spooders im gud
+PengoZ I just create a 2-wide hole and throw in bombs to destroy their biomes permanently lol, I LOVE bombs. Keep one you've got easy access to for emergency silk though
"More simpler", "more easier", etc is not a valid phase the "more" is excessive.
Black Heart On the other hand "Much simpler" and "Much easier" is correct.
Ocram Well, yes, it is. Though "much" and "more" don't mean the same thing so there is no point in comparing them.
more simpler was used as a meme on 4chan once i think
Garridan You don't choose the grammar nazi life, the grammar nazi life chooses you.
Black Heart "Phase"
First should be: DO NOT DROP COMPANION CUBE IN LAVA!!1!1!!!1!
This is the most accurate comment I've seen so far
yes
No. It should be “Do not throw your wood away”
Homppo *moon lord death scream*
*screams in moonlord*
#11: Always carry a wire
Happy, I'm talking about you
Alpha Gaming lol I get it
xXGame ConquerXx get what
SKREAR always carry a wire because you can check for traps and stuff. Because HappyDays always dies to them.
Seriously, I have never seen anyone die to traps as much as he does xD
Christian Jarquin oh yeah it's like his weakness
I don't have a class. I use all types of weapons, melee, summoner, ranged and magic.
There's is a class that use any weapon. It's called Spellsword
***** It's a class
Icy Heart Actually I think you can't use ranged or throwing items as a spellsword since those aren't really included in the name.
Bao Pham Ya can. name doesn't matter
Icy Heart Welp. You learn something new every day.
I put the safe in my piggy bank
Shit, I never thought about that
Rose Warrior
That must be a BIG piggy bank
Put my defender forge in the piggy bank in the safe in the flying piggy bank
Thomas Vanzeebroeck the regular and flying bank is the same inventory
Rose Warrior I put my defender forge in my safe that's in my piggy bank
Most of the things were actually about stuff you SHOULD do.
"Don't forget to....", "Don't forget to...."
No one else has commented this. I noticed this too and came to the comments to see🤦♀️🤦♀️
I only recommend restricting yourself to a class as a beginner if you're planning on dedicating some time to the game. Damage type - or "Class" restricting potentially adds more replayability as well as a more likely chance to discover something you may not of seen before. But that's my opinion.
"Wisp in a bottle is the best light pet"
The suspicious looking tentacle's floating eye would like to have a word with you about that.
Can't you just have the mining helmet in the vanity slot, or does that not work?
XxSHADOWMODSxX it doesn't work in vanity.
the thing with minions is they sometimes stop other types of damage from doing anything
My inventory is always full, I have over 20 chests full of items and I can't find any more iron!
My piggy bank and safe are also always full.
Same for me
I have to problem too sometimes, I forget to clean out my extra space lol
Why dont you get iron from another world?
break cave chests or throw away junk or just give it to a player like a portable storage •
make a big organized storage
4:36 she sells evil solutions on blood moons, npc cannot live in evil biomes
IM A GECKO
but hallow is EVIL biome
Hallow is a good biome. It takes over the Crimson/Corruption, NPCs will live there, it's pretty, and the dryad doesn't care if the world is 100% hallow.
Saxton Hale the dryad does care about what % hollow ur world is plus there are dangerous monsters that live there early hardmode and it's counted as an evil biome so yea...
The Adventure Guy Umm, no she doesn't
Bluerious She does on mobile, she even has a percent for it, and she whines about it
Another tip for PC, Only put your hammer in your hotbar. If you hold shift over a block, it will automatically bring out the tool to mine the block you're hovering over. The only reason you need a hammer in your hotbar is background walls, which cannot be mined by holding shift.
Had to take the original video down due to a small problem, it's back though. Sorry for the inconvenience.
elementalfact0r happy early Christmas
Spelling error on one of the titles, I spent a few hours working on the video, and thought everything was covered. Today has been exhausting, and I slipped a little
Protected Gaming Yea, that's a big source of stress in itself
elementalfact0r hi
elementalfact0r you say we need torches, I say I have to many torches. I have an entire chest full of torches
i have never heard tortches and cheap in the same sentence
-.- they sell form the merchant for literally ONE copper coin.
10.
You literally just chop down 1 or 2 trees and you're good. The slime gels aren't that hard to get.
I slapped yo mama, oh yeah yeah, she voted for Obama, oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
1 gold coin = 1000 torches though
This video should have been called 10 Things You Should Not Forget to do in Terraria.
People are literally hating on this video because he's trying to help you. Why does everyone have to be so triggered over a top 10 video?
Totally not a killer Because today nobody can get satisfaction out of anything.
People get triggered too easily.
I have 450+ hours on terraria and I’d have to say that most of these tips can be useful for new players but even now I don’t like to have a safe and piggy bank on me I prefer to just have a money trough or however you spell the second word
SuuGaming I reached 1480 hours yesterday and then it suddenly reset to 1402 :(
I usually go classless pre hardmode, then after the first hardmode boss (Most likely twins, I find it easiest) I most likely get a class (ranged or summon FTW)
Summon ftw :D
all about that melee and magic life boi.
christian mcgregor idk m8, honestly i'll take any class and i'm able to do it pretty well...
David Dionne yh, they arent that hard. i just choose whatever's fun.
christian mcgregor ranged is VERY fun.
PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW BANG BANG PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW
BANG BANG BANG PEW
BBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM
I feel I have proven my point.
Top 10 things you shouldn't get, always get light pets.
Oh right i won't get them anymore ;)
Lol
Lol
Lol
Lol
Lol
Lol
1.make another map so when you are out of wood you can go to the other map and get your wood
2.make sure to use buff potions against bosses and learn how to craft at least the simplest and most important swiftness, regeneration and iron skin potions these potions will help you a lot in pre hardmode and in hardmode
3.always mine the lead/iron when you see it like really lead/iron is the most important ore in the game it is used all game from just starting out to using it to make hardmode bosses so the more the better
4.try to get 15 diamonds for the second best hook, the diamond hook, it has the second longest reach out of all the hooks and you can get it with luck at the start of the map,if you can't find enough diamonds underground go get fossil from the desert and process it through the extractinator it is totally worth it because you don't really need another hook until the end game when the steampunk is gonna sell you a better one
5.try to go fishing before you fight wall of flesh so you can save over 30 crates so when you start hardmode you can open them and get lots of hardmode ores which will grant a massive boost right at the start of hardmode
Wisp in a bottle and eye of chutulu both give the most light
TimHu101 you got the best profile
eye of cthulhu is a boss or a hardmode yoyo
Jan Luus he means the True eoc
I think he means the pet that drops from the moon lord
The item he is refering to is Suspicious Looking Tentacles. The light pet you can get by the Moon Lord.
2:58 you shouldn't say that. people can do that if they want to. even brand new players
"most of the armours' set bonus dont take any effect on one specific type of weapon"
Excuse me, but that isn't the point. The armors themselves have specific bonuses for certain classes of weapons. You should try to specialize yourself so you can have more damage, while having more variety *in that weapon class.*
subnautica_guy 1573 he said you probably shouldnt not you cant
I think u should have added the money trouph
The money trough is technically a piggybank, so thats why he didn't talk about it
Oh ok
Money trough and piggy bank are the same storage
Theres a hot key for torches/anything light related as well, just hold shift and move your cursor to a surface or off in the distance if you have flares.
i use the lantern light pet so no treasure will escape and all mimics will die :D
Tip 1: even if you are console I would highly recommend setting desired potions to slots on the D-Pad, or just press the auto buff button. You can save 4 items (one I like to keep as the magic mirror) and it will also automatically drink potions when the button is pressed
he sounds like mayor Quimby out of the Simpsons or donald trump
Dr. Evil and kinda like Austin Powers
2b2t's Demon's Justice
one millliiiooon dollars
Donald thumbnail
Cuz hes an itiot and hes literally stupid
I'm not sure if you were aware but you don't need to keep your torches In the hot bar either. when they are in the inventory you can press shift and move the mouse arrow out a little further them mining distance and you can place them, if you move it further and you have the flare gun you can fire it. :)
That akward moment when you still didn't realise there are classes in the game
And you're playing for 1 year
*TFW you've played since 2012 and you just use whatever*
3:09, if you are a more advance player I would recommend you choose what class you are aiming for before beating the wall of flesh, so upon killing the wall of flesh you can try and get the right emblem/weapon, but it’s up to your preference.
Hey I know im late but try and find a star cloak to add to your holy cross necklace
Edit: thanks for the heart dude I hope I helped
i liked how you mentioned the class challange, i do that very often with my friends cause it makes u fight less over who should get what weapon.
also, very nice that u mention constuctive critisism is allowed, some people cant take critisism even though your just tryna help..
very noice video overall :p
The steampunker sells red and purple solution on blood moons, not in evil biomes! (Where NPCs can't even live)
Alex Ander actually they CAN live in Corruption/crimson
"If a House is located near Corruption or Crimson, it may become uninhabitable. If these spread near an occupied House, the NPC living there may move out and wander the area until a new House becomes available." From the wiki.
They're still in the biome, and they can sell things.
Alex Ander then How was i able to get the steampunker into hallowed without the clentaminator??
Desert Eagle hallow is not evil, so why do you think she can live there, aye?
3:21 Well you can dual class by using vanity good for times you need the stealth of vortex, the dr of solar or the nebular armours buffs.
Wait, why did you said you shouldn't instead of you should do
roger wbecause you shouldn't do these things
You can easily turn this video of things you should do. That's what he's saying. Not actually sure why every tip is in a double negative.
Vijay Senapathi lmao right?! I was triggered during the whole video.
roger You’re a dipthong
Good tips! At least you didn’t actually criticize those who don’t follow the rules given. You remained passive, and I can appreciate that. Well done.
Thank you for the wonderful feedback! I'm not the best myself, so to criticize anyone it would clearly make me a bad hypocrite. Same goes to other aspects as well, everyone has their own opinions and that's fine I just agree to disagree.
Heyy Grazz, nice Video!
Thanks Topsy!
I get warding on all my accessories :P
kirby if you are a offensive melee character you get menacing instead
well
I have arcane
cuz... ya know
I get lucky (I think that’s the one +4% chance of crit hit) cos I use fast paced weapons, like mega shark, or razor pine.
also use keep torches and tools (axes pickaxes etc.) out of your hotbar because you can press shift and your game will pull up the appropriate item (axe if the cursor is over a tree, pickaxe if the cursor is over a block, torch if the cursor is within placement range for a torch but not over a minable block, glowstick if the cursor is out of mining/building range.)
I'd like Sjin to watch this
painful to watch isnt it? i think i will start to watch them when they are going to be after plantera
ThePcGamer. they will, its just that they are going to do it slowly. kinda like stampy
AFunnyMeme they beat the golem now lmao
imagine sijn killing moon lord...
0:40 use your hot bar for things like torches *doesn’t realize there a hot key for them* but don’t put potions in there because there’s a hot key for that.
This list is stupid, you just used double negatives on half of them
Not being restricted to a class really helps, I suggest getting a nights edge early, use a gun as well against the wof. Once I hit hard mode, since I got a clockwork assault rifle and rangers emblem, uses that and frost Armor right up until Plantera.
the safe cost 50 gold not 20
Archi Chanley it's 20
Oh well I can still get loads with 193 platinum coins 😂😂 I accidentally found out how to get unlimited truffle worms with a bug net and I made over 1000 plat. coins, but my file save corrupted 😭😭
how did u do it
I found the weapons tip to be very helpful in the sense that I now know that I need to create a class instead of just using any weapon that I find. Thank you for the informational video.
my type is magic and i use spectre armor i can heal my self without healing potion
silva rangga it's too bad that got nerfed to the ground. Spectre armor 1.2 was godlike
I still use spectre as mobile is still 1.2 lmao
Wes Lee I just put my old spectre mask in my vanity dyed black to look badass xD
I’m not a new player, but kind of a new player on the pc. thank you for making this!
Thanks helpet a lot... way am i playng terraria at 4:16am 😑
Thanks for watching!
Bloody Gamer nice namer
Crap I mean nice name
About first point, torches also have their own hotkey :D (which is also smart) just press shift on a wall or some terrain, it will pick torch or glowstick if underwater
There's a hot key for torches lmao
It's really telling that your's is the most broadly informative (tutorial-like?) and helpful video on the subject of Terraria. For example, I had nowhere near this much trouble learning how to play Minecraft from TH-cam. Thanks for a great video.
Glad the videos help!
When you like your own comment cause none else will 😭👍

I dunno about light pets - I just buy the miner's helment from merchant, that gives more light than some of those light pets you can get and you don't have to worry about light source's position - light pets move specificly to be behind you, which means they light up what's infront of you less. And yes, you have to sacrifice the helmet armor slot for it - but is it that big of a deal?
No effence but we can do whatever we want
Badir Khalaf tips isn't restrictions. If you want to get better at the games use tips
Offence*
Badrulz77 your pretty dumb no effence
Offense?
For the light source, I usually use a tonbogiri because if you swing it around it emits light and has quite a good amount of damage
"Don't put potions on your hot bar"
*Recommends having torches instead*
Bruh.
SamuFinland I don't have a computer.
SamuFinland Please be considerate of others without computers. I play console and it works just fine. Dongshit
yes 1.3 is on console
@@supremetacogames im cool with console, but if you expect mobile to really be the terraria experience, your flat out stupid.
Cvoss 2342 I never said they were supposed to get the full experience on mobile, idiot. Don’t stuff words in my mouth.
I know I’m late but good vid. Also you’re lucky for getting the megaphone. I’ve been grinding for that and haven’t gotten one yet....
Several items especially on higher levels
Like Level 3 of Celestial shell
You need level 2 accresories that is Celestial stone + Moon shell
And from level 1 sun and moon stone and Moon charm and neptune shell
And some effects can create unique mechanic
For example magic cuffs turns damage into mana (full damage before defense reduces this damage) its rather useful when you have healing armors like palladium, spectre
Also if the cursor is too far away from the player when you hit shift, it will always pull out a light, starting with the glowsticks, and then the torches.
keep it up, does my heart good to see youtubers make videos about this phenomenal game
what about the fact that you can favorite items, that's useful and holding shift for torches to save on hotbar space also speaking of saving space on the hotbar is why have your magic mirror on there 1. you can accidentally use it if it's on your hotbar so then you'd be out of a boss fight or you'd teleport away from a nice cave system 2. you can have more weapons/tools on your hotbar if you don't have the magic mirror on there like the hammer or the rod of discord
0:20 secs (for pc users dont have potions in your hotbar) on console too idk about mobile but on xbox terraria you just press ''x'' to activate all potions but the healing potions
Also certain equipables are usable in casual inventory
(Gps, stopwatch, lifeform analyser etc)
A lot of these are for new players since most people have realized these after a day of playing, also I find the Suspicious Looking Tentacle to be the most useful because of the amount of buffs you get from it.
1) Torches can be left in the inventory too, shift will allow you to hold a torch or glow stick
I find it more comfortable having all of my keys close.
elementalfact0r, you can't make someone live in a corruption or crimson biome, it will always notify 'this housing is corrupted' like when you're missing something for the house, like: 'this house is missing a chair/table.
love this video though, I'll show it to all my nooby friends XF
you can also transfer items from world to world with a piggy bank and safe
but only for one character.
useful if u have to transfer alotta stuff from one world to another
I did not know about the potions hotkey being useable off the bar!!! Thank you, you made my life so much easier!!!
1. No potions on hot bar 0:24
2. Don't ignore hot keys 0:49
3. Don't forget space from piggy bank & safe (He forgot defender's forge) 1:23
4. Don't neglect food 2:08
5. Don't be restricted to one class early 2:59
6. Don't just throw npc's anywhere 4:00
7. Always get light pets 4:50
8. Don't forget to reforge 5:42
9. Remember to stock up on torches 6:30
10. Don't forget the Tinkerer's Workbench 7:15
I think you should rephrase your title. Since you can't say that you "shouldn't do" #7 and #9 with this title.
Only feel like 1, 3 and 4 are acceptable. You should laready know the others. Even if you are a beginner. Basic knowledge for a gamer.
to the newbie warriors out there (if you choose to be) range isn't a bad thing
it may be Kinda uncommon (not rare though) to have a melee weapon that doubles as a ranged weapon (the Enchanted Sword for example) but later on range over closeness can help you depending on the weapon. if the sword or melee weapon does both range and melee damage, then ranged attacks may help you in the long run, especially to endgame for the Moon Lord battle. If you do happen to need to put closeness over range, then consider the changes of receiving damage and dying to be higher than it would with a melee weapon with the ability to work from a distance.
Your Vault Piggy bank Has made me a even more skilled player then what i was before.
Hats off to you, You deserve more subs then you have.
+Seems Legit thank you!
elementalfact0r
No problem! I decided to add a chest to the vault and switch the piggy bank into the chest.
elementalfact0r
And also, when I go into hard mode, am I ready?
I'm also scared of corruption crimson or hallow spreading too much.
My set is:
Unpleasant nights edge,
Molten pick,
Molten hamaxe,
Waterbolt, (mythical)
Demonic aquastaff,
Imp staff,
Full molten armour,
Mini shark,
Superior musket,
Meteor bullets,
My accessories are
Warding cloud in a balloon,
Warding spectral boots I think,
Warding climbing claws,
And warding magic carpet,
Also warding magic cobalt shield.
This guide sucks. Go watch chippy or someone who actually knows how to play
Torch tip=When you're uderground, hold the torch. You will still get light source and use a block to mark where you are with a block that isn't stone.
I do like to spam torches around demon altars if I'm not in hardmode yet, maybe there's a more distinct map pixel I could use though
>use hotkeys
>puts torches into toolbar
you know you can pull out torch/glowstick/flare gun(depending on distance from character and if you are in water) by pressing shift
Actually the shift key will allow for you to use your torch's so putting torch's in your hot bar is also a waste of space
A good tip is to dye your light pet (such as the shadow orb) yellow. This seems to brighten the light given and make the early game light pets more useful!
