I had this issue a few days ago. After the update, many apps were missing, not just the sideloaded ones. I went to the App store and clicked the installed on this option it partially worked, but the icons were blank. I then removed all external devices and did a hard reboot. That solved the problem. I immediately turned off the offload option in settings and reinstalled the external drives. After another quick restart everything seems to be working properly (so far)..lol😊😊..I am using the 4k running OS 6 BTW...
Don't know how the firestick battalion put up with forced updates and the controlling of use. Especially with people now receiving popups prompting people to buy the newer version of a fire device... It's a shame especially when your channel is based around helping people tweak and find out new things. Always good to see the new content Tanya. Keep up the good work.
I also found a workeround to the firestick update that get stuck on the fire TV loop, just use a ethernet adapter and the update will finish and the firestick will boot up and work again
Thank you for the heads up. I do have version 7664 installed on my firestick and my sideloaded apps are still showing on my apps screen. If this changes, now I know how it fix it. I enjoy your channel.
Also there is a recent update as well called Auto-Offload in Applications that removes unused apps that have not been used for a longtime for when you are running out of space. I have it on my FireStick 4K Max. It may roll out to other version I am not sure but it is on mines. You should have it with your 4K Max as well.

Can they (Amazon ) just let us do with our paid products as we wish?? If they block all sideloaded apps I go with my onn Walmart Google TV box (I have 2 and they work great and you can extend the storage which is very easy to do) they cost $20 USD but thnkzx for the info Tanya
I'm sorry... I didn't realize we were renting these devices and not actually buying them... 🤔 Upsetting that you buy a device and you can't use it as you please. I had a routine of doning a quick install of the launcher manager whenever I turn on my TV for the day, due to Amazon removing it every other day.. Was an easy task.. I kept the isntall file stored in downloader, so it only took a couple of seconds to do this.. Well as of the last two days they have blocked the install. Looks like it installs successfully but it never opens. Making it a point to finish up testing on my Onn Box this weekend!! Definitely won't be buying into the new firestick that was just released!!!

I'm sure it's only a software glitch because if they were to actually uninstall them then there would be a problem there install base would be a reimagining of the titanic disaster
Most of my side loaded apps are on an external USB and this doesn't fix them. It just says side loaded usb apps not connected to your Amazon tv. When they are still connected as they have been for years.
You can try and fix this issue by one of 2 ways: 1) Power down and unplug everything and then plug everything back together BEFORE powering on. Once, everything is connected, plug the power in LAST. 2) Unplug everything and DO NOT plug in your external memory. Plug your Firestick back in and power it up WITHOUT the external memory. Then when everything has loaded back up, plug your external memory in. One of these methods should resolve this for you. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching 😊👍❤️

My fire stick is now not showing any apps, even the originally installed ones. Neither of these fixes work for me. When I click on the AppStore or search icons nothing happens. I suspect a factory reset may be the only option??
Hello Tania. I’m trying to uninstall a few apps from my Firestick. When I press to confirm, I get a window saying uninstalling application but nothing happens. This goes on for about 5 minutes and then returns to the Home Screen without uninstalling the app. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi Tanya I’ve been having this problem on downloader where I highlight the url line where it says EX:AFTVnews and every time I tap on it it doesn’t open. I drops down to the “Go” line and does nothing. It does the same thing on the IPTV Smarters app. Every line I tap on does nothing. It just drop down to the next line. The new 16 GB 4 k girestick is fast BUT DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY I use voice view which is slower coming on ,turns off everytime I need to change things in settings,the remote doesn't go to every icon to click on when setting up things like SD maid m good luck trying to add things using usb as it just keeps showing GIRE TV on a black screen. I was excited to get it to get the new features especially LUNA as I was going to subscribe and buy another stick for my son as the games are big names but NO CHANCE. I know it's new but it's the worst one yet to set up, others may find it easy but if like me you need speach I'd either pass or wait till it drops in price as it's cost me £72 from Amazon for a useless streaming device I'm definitely disappointed at the moment. Virus Total only works with a Wi-Fi connection, unfortunately. I assume that as this app is designed to run on mobile devices, it bypasses an ethernet connection. Therefore, if you wish to run a scan with Virus Total, please temporarily connect via Wi-Fi.

I would suggest using a different brand of batteries. If that does not help, contact Amazon as you may have a defective remote.

Mine was different. Firestick didn't recognize my SD card. Unplugged it and plugged back in and everything was back. No issue

Tanya Could you do a fix for root access in the new Firestick 4K Max. I can not get external drives to show up in Xplore in the latest software
Amazon are rolling out an update to fix this issue. Hopefully you'll get it soon.

I added extra storage with a sd card, bloatware is no concern.

Have you used any debloat tool? You may have to try a factory reset.

Try uninstalling Downloader and then reinstalling it.

Simply stop using Amazon launcher and use custom launcher, never had that issue with a custom launcher
