  • I was out on the mighty Tenere , blowing the cobwebs off, and reminiscing about 10 years of riding the Xt660z.
    Would I buy the new one ?

    Between ages of 35 to 50 I've had all the big boy toys. Retired at 51 and emigrated to a country of mountains, tracks and trails and 35C sun. I bought this Tenere at the time and have kept it 9 years and 110,000kms, 20 percent off road...It's been an absolute 'Landrover' of a bike and I'll never sell it. I'll die before it does.....

    I love mine.. Ive had it for 4 years and put 30000 klm on it.. The XT660Z is down in power and needs a 6th gear but other than that it feels like an old friend that never lets me down.. really struggling to justify moving it on. Thanks for the video. Hopefully in another 20 years its looked on as a classic.

    Great to see the Tenere out and about! The new Tenere World Raid has a big fuel tank, BUT… your Tenere is a keeper. I wouldn’t part with it if it were mine.

      I’ll have a google for the World Raid.

    I just finished watching your video on the opposite side of the globe in the Netherlands. That was a great relaxing and informative 25 minute video I must say! Although I do feel an irresistible urge now to get an XT660Z and head to Australia, which is quite the endeavor.

      I’m sure there are nice places to take a Tenere in the Netherlands?

      Well, I guess my personal favorites are the Dutch speed bumps and traffic jams.

    Glad to see you’re out enjoying a beautiful day down under. Whether you’re on 2 or 3 wheels, it’s just the best. I will be receiving my Ural Gear Up soon & am looking forward to my first adventure on 3 wheels. Hope to always have 2 wheels also.
    Ride to eat (pie) !!
    How about some more adventures with Buddy ? Thanks.

    Great bike, love mine but it's just too heavy for me to go off and do the exploring i want to do, I can barely pick the damn thing up alone on a good day!

    Now i am convinced i have to by me a Tenere 660. 😊👍🏻 I like the simplicity, the looks and the sound. The newer adventure bikes tends to have to much technology and computer stuff. And seems very hard to service, change plugs and filter etc.

    • @CreakyRider
      @CreakyRider  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Newer bikes tend to have smaller fuel tanks too 🫣

    Good musings, enjoyed listening while servicing DRz carb. Some of my family say "why spend so much on a bigger tank", plans sometimes go astray. Cheers

      Especially with my navigation skills , and trusting the GPS 😆 I end up in some dead ends and locked gates and have to go all the way back.

    I have a 660 it is my 5th tenere, 2 first models,2 1200,s and the 660, I love it, it is such a old tractor,not much power but that’s ok, I also had a ural the wife and I rode it around aus, did 19000 k,s absolutely loved it but it was just to unreliable, but the new model fixed all the problems I had with mine, thanks for the video.

    Interesting view about the tank. For me it is too big, and do t need a range of 500 km and it makes the bike heavy. I often dont top it up. Love everything except the weight and have started stripping if every bit I can to see if it will feels lighter. Great video!

    • @CreakyRider
      @CreakyRider  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah it’s a heavy bike , you can shed a few kilos by charging the exhaust etc , but it’s still a bastard to pick up , it falls flat on its side 🫠
      I need the fuel range for all the wrong turns and dead end roads I end up on 🤣
      It’s a great bike 👍

    Hey mate... I have recently got myself a xt660z Tenere...There is some vibration in the handle bars and foot pegs..is that normal...?

    • @CreakyRider
      @CreakyRider  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah , pretty normal , it's a big single cylinder bike , so there is some thumping going on. Nothing like my KTM 640 adventure I used to ride , that thing vibrated a lot more.

    Hi ! Thanks for the videowith the XTZ 660. I want to buy this bike for my firt bike and to travel a bit 50% road and 50% off road. With all the time you spend with, what modification you think I must have to made ?
    Thanks

    • @CreakyRider
      @CreakyRider  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on how much mud and sand you might see.
      Dunlop d606 tyres
      Centre stand
      Spare tubes and tools etc
      Panniers racks.
      That’s the basics , then any little bits like bar risers etc.

    I have new tenere 700, its not worth the price... Creep suspension, small tank, top havy, slipon mounting and rear frame with susceptibility on bending, hard to repair, no handles on rear. Everything cheap and nothing special. I would no buy it again. Very expensive and everythig you have to upgrade like suspension. Never again yamaha bike, shame on you fake enginers. Give me back money for that fake suspension! What i can do on that offroad bike? Ride to candyshop?
