Yamaha recently revamped its motorcycle portfolio in India by launching the 2023 iteration of multiple offerings including the highly popular FZ S FI. The Japanese bike maker introduced the new V4 Deluxe trim of the motorcycle which incorporates a host of updates over the standard variant. Now, for those who want a detailed overview of these updates, here’s a quick lowdown.
The older vertically-stacked LED headlamp of the FZ S FI has made way for a quirkier-looking unit with a small main LED at the centre flanked by sleek DRL strips on either side. This is accompanied by a redesigned fly screen sandwiched between the headlamp and the new LCD console. As for the rest of the bodywork, Yamaha has left it untouched and retained the chunky fuel tank with faux air intakes along with a stubby tail section. The new FZ S Fi V4 Deluxe is available in three colour variants - Metallic Grey, Majesty Red, and Metallic Black.
The most notable feature in the FZ S FI V4 is the new traction control system which is quite unusual for a motorcycle in this class. It prevents the rear wheel spin under aggressive acceleration on low traction surfaces. Moreover, Yamaha has bestowed the bike with a new larger and more data-loaded LCD console which, as is the norm these days, offers Bluetooth connectivity.
The aforementioned updates have resulted in a price hike of Rs 3,000. While the older FZ S Fi Deluxe was priced at Rs 1,24,400, the new V4 iteration will set you back by Rs 1,27,400 (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). For those who want a more affordable version of the bike, Yamaha also retails the standard FZ Fi with a price tag of Rs 1,13,700 (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
All the aspects of the FZ S Fi V4 Deluxe are the same as the rest of the variants of the motorcycle. It is powered by a 149cc, air-cooled engine that produces 12.2bhp and 13.3Nm and comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. Weighing 136kg (kerb), it incorporates a fuel tank of 13 litres. Riding on 17-inch alloy wheels, the FZ sports telescopic forks and a monoshock while braking is handled by a single disc at both ends.

But I'm one of the happy customers of Fzs v1.
Below are the main things that got upgraded in Fzs V4 in my point of view:
* Better brakes (ABS & larger disc in front & a rear disc) + TCS
* Better Engine = Fi, E20 petrol compatible, better mileage, very less pollution than v1
* Comfortable rear seats + 5 mm extra Ground Clearance of 165 mm
* better instrument cluster with Eco light + Bluetooth connectivity & secured E lock system
OTHER THAN THAT: V1 still has some advantages in my personal experience
* One of "THE MOST RELIABLE BIKE IN THE SEGMENT"
* No major issues in past 11 years (80000 km) still running smoothly without performance drop (upto 75 / 80 kmph)
* Still Running in stock condition = no accesories other than crash guard
* Really Good performance
* Stress free ride upto 80 kmph.
* Mostly maintained 80/85 kmph as my top speed even in open smooth well known highways (even with very least traffic) = never stressed the engine much - that's the only thing I cared about.
* Had very long rides in highways & bad roads too.
* till now Never ever let me stranded & made me fear in any kind of situation. And I really never cared about bike.
* I treated it like: buy it and forget it. (
* I did nothing special = Just filled petrol & general service = but it gave me unforgettable memories (lots of trips)
* Comfortable
* The in gear acceleration will be awesome
* No tank issues
* No quality issues: more metal parts
* No need / not necessary to give any kind of extra care in service and maintenance = just regular service is enough
* Carburettor (no fi) = never worried about empty fuel tank
* Never ever cared / scared about Petrol quality (like adultery, mixing of kerosene or water or anything else) thanks for abuse friendly build quality
* Never thought about filling petrol in a good fuel station = always filled in random station wherever necessary
* Still getting 38 - 40 kmpl Max mileage in city (if driven

எம்மிடம் யமகா Fz v1 2015 model இருக்கிறது. அதிக எடை காரணமாக அதை நான் பயன்படுத்தாமல் வைத்து இருக்கிறேன். இதுவரை 3500 மட்டுமே அப்பா ஓட்டினார். வண்டி இருக்கிறது ஆனால் ஓட்டுவதற்குதான் ஆளில்லை.
