The tuning between specs for the mage tower is crazy. Just came from sweating the God Queens Challenge on my Arcane mage, took like 30 attempts; then both this challenge and the Unholy DK one I did in a single try. Thanks for the video!
Congratulations on the challenge though! Still plenty that can go awry even with favourable tuning. Try Shadow Priest on the twins encounter, speccing for void tendrils if you want to see some tuning anomalies in action!
@@trevplayswow Thats hilarious! Funnily enough I just completed the frost mage tower and got my Spelltome - but you had me curious and i tried it on my priest after. Took 3 tries, the second i got good rng on the tendrils boss just exploded!
Well done on the acquisition of Spelltome! It’s one of the few mounts I feel genuinely pleased with myself for acquiring. I’ve had a lot of fun in Mage Tower. I am looking forward to completing them as I level classes.
LOL what a joke this was. I've been playing a lot of survival in dragonflight so I'm well familiar with the spec, so this "challenge" was a complete pushover. Instant oneshot, absolutely no resistance what so ever. Just walked in with my standard m+ talents, regular set of gear, only using a weapon rune & mainstat food + bl on 2nd phase, and picked up my transmog. Thanks for the video.
I still think there's some challenge to these mage tower scenarios. I wouldn't be so ready to diminish the challenge and be more likely to recognise your skill. Lots of people enter these scenarios and fail.
I agree with you, this one is really easy. I succeeded in 6 attempts without knowing how to play the spec before beginning. Survival playstyle is very straightforward : dump your focalisation with Mongoose Bite then build it up again with Kill Command and Flanking Strike. It took me 3 tries to not die on the Razor Ice : be sure to be at the top of your jump before casting Disengage. Then 2 tries to not get bump by Xylem's copies : wait for them to finish casting Prismatic Shock before harpooning them to be able to kill them quickly. The first time I reached p2 was the winning try. The adds just melted with an Explosive Shot + Fury of the Eagle. Just remember to turn off the Growl of your pet at the beginning of p2 and that you can heal your pet every 10 sec in p1 with the right spell. Winning this even felt a bit underwhelming compared to the others challenges. It was much harder to succeed the Beast Mastery one where you have to pay attention to all the mechanics and manage your conterspells appropriatly.
I actually think I'd rather the Imp Mother or God Queen for Survival. I think they'd be good challenges. I really enjoyed the Beast Mastery and Marksmanship challenges in Dragonflight (although BM got much easier with all the CC spells available in the trees).
this one was the last one i needed for the mount, i tried on my dh and hunter... hunter was easiest where staying alive was concerned because your pet tanks but my dmg just wasn't there for the second phase so i switched to warrior and i got it within 25 attempts, i dont play any of the classes from that challenge so this one was a huge achievement for me :D
Congratulations! I learn just enough of each class specialisation to get these challenges done. I feel quite good when I get them. This is my third go around with Dragonflight and I still enjoy it.
@@trevplayswow i dont think i could mentally put myself through all the classes 🤣 i had nearly 200 attempts with the frost mage in shadowlands and gave up, about 30 attempts with shadow priest in dragonflight got it done! I have come to terms with the fact that my mage wont run it in any specs haha
I don't understand the second phase, am I killing all ads or do I just have to find him in the clones? I'm killing 2/3rds of them and then getting oneshot out of nowhere
Look for the yellow dot (usually on the opposite side of the platform). You need to make your way over to it using the copies until you're in range to use flare. Then you exit the phase once he is uncovered.

About 440 agility, 483 stamina, 22% crit, 11% haste, 18% mastery, and 7% versatility from gear. Don't think I used any flasks or other items save for a potion at the start of phase 2. I think I even forgot to blood lust at the start.
This was honestly very impressive, considering you have a terrible UI, no WAs, click all your spells and have no real knowledge about how the class works. Well done! Maybe this is just really easy? Gonna try it now. Edit: Nvm, this is just really easy. Just oneshot him :( Super disappointed with how easy this was especially after doing the MM and BM challenges.
I think I covered all your points in my video description! Survival is very easy right now. I haven't played Survival recently beside messing about in Torghast once or twice. I went in with a spec I put together and downed it in one go. I did not need WeakAuras, I blatantly don't click all my spells, and I figured enough about the class spec to succeed. I'm sorry you're disappointed though. I am having a blast doing these! If you need more challenge, try turning off your custom UI, WeakAuras, and click a couple of your spells.

what gear u using?
My Dragonflight levelling gear, Hellscream heirloom polearm, WoD heirloom agility trinket. I used a potion of unbridled fury on the last phase.
