@@muzungujames5073 We welcomed Rwanda as part of the contingent, Mozambique president delayed signing SADC protocol to deploy troops while signing a deal with France & Rwanda, it has come to light this week that France is the one funding the Rwanda and Mozambique joint military operations there, perhaps motivated by interest of Total there with gas extraction. Nevertheless good job so far but you dont win insurgency in a matter of weeks, look how the taliban is doing in Afghanistan yet America had been fighting them there for 20 years, this guys simply retreated because they knew everyone was coming for them but give them time they will strike back and use guerilla tactics lets just hope they wont be as effective as they had been before
@@Ntwali-Z my point is you were rushed to the front against SADC agreements due to the deal with France not that SADC was not willing to help thats why he south African Minister said Rwandan troops were not suppose to be there before SADC troops, wer're not paid mecernaries the suecurity of our region is in our best interest and it owuld not be the first time, we were in mozambique in 1993 fighting Frelimo and went to Lesotho in 1998 during operation Boleas when we restored order there. So Rwanda can do what it likes and leave we will always be there for our region not for money or world powers but our own brotherhood security

@@fishdawn1804 Equally suprised looking at the fact that Botswana or specifically Seretse is the one who came up with idea of SADC and its Headquaters are in Botswana, we are part of SACU, we are active member of the AU, some of our citizens even hold Top Posts in this institutions, the WHO Africa Chair is a Motswana, we have transnational projects with almost all our neighbors from Kazungula Bridge with Zambia, Transkalahari Highway & rail with Namibia & SA etc I think he has mistaken the fact that Botswana is rarely on news because there is never "typical stereotypical african news" coming out of Botswana that he thinks somehow we are isolated
Then why is the Mozambique government the one asking Botswana to send troops if they know the war is over. Do you know how insurgency wars works or you are just working on assumptions. This guy's have been doing sporadic attacks since inception of the insurgency. They just now simply retreated to their hiding places, there has been no battle whatsoever ever and Rwandan & Mozambique Army has simply just reocuppied the areas the Islamists were in without even a fight. Don't you know why Nigeria hasn't defeated Boko Haram, Kenya and Somalia Alsbaab or why America despite saying repeatedly that it was end of Taliban that we have a Taliban government after 20 years. You're either ignorant or naive to think you win Islamist insurgency by simply occupying the area.
