I got a dominican friend here in the Netherlands and she showed me how to use tubi . I love it since that day i use it every night ! Viva los dominicanos
I have never ever ever ever seen anyone wrap their hair like this! This is absolutely GENIUS! No extra pulling or tugging on the hair while wrapping! This will save my edges and put much less stress on my hair! Brilliant!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
The easiest method I’ve ever seen...mind blowing! I’m 🇯🇲 and we wrap our hair. I use a scull cap. But I’m going to get a tubi :-). Thanks for sharing !
My Dominican mom taught me to do it with bobby-pins and it works great, but with the net is soooooo much more quick and easy and mostly more comfortable to sleep with!! Thank you very much for sharing this amazing tip! 💜
Girl, I’m Dominican and I never thought to do a tubi this way! I love tubis but I have a ton of hair and it’s long so I always struggled big time with the pinchos (and they also mark the crap out of my hair). I’m one of the only people in my family that doesn’t know how to do it 🥺 I’m going to try it your way! Thank you for this. Seems like something I can do.
Goodness, my mom use to do the dubi on my hair every week, in Cuba, apparently every common, I never used the hair net, but the dubi definitely works. I never learned how to do it myself. We used clips that left no Bobby pins marks. I think I'm going to try your way. I live in Florida, the humidity kills my hair. I've seen most of your videos, because I'm trying to determine which hair brush dryer I'd like to in vest in. As I get older my hair is thinner, I've decided to go on a grey journey, I'm 57, but, still vain. LOL. Love love my grey hair and can't wait till the journey is over, it will take some time, because us curly hair girls don't do short hair, especially not in Florida. Thank you for all your videos, you are absolutely adorable and I appreciate the honesty. Keep it up girl, you will kick ass on TH-cam.♥️
Tubi is definitely a must have for me when I have my hair straight (I'm Dominican as well)! I use bobby pins/"pinchos" for mine, though (that's just how my mom taught me). I've never seen it done the way you do it, but I'll have to try it out! I use pinchos and then use a bandana and redecilla over it (so it's the other way around). I'm able to preserve my hair even if I do exercise (indoors or outdoors). I've just figured out ways to keep it clean even then. Then again, I'm also not a very sweaty person so I'm not sure if that has something to do with it.
Pinchos give your hair crimps - I noticed a lot of Dominicans would usd that with the tied up tubis… but as for the ones that come in a circular shape theres no need
This is interesting, I came here bc someone linked your video on how to maintain a blowout. I’m Black American and this method is called wrapping as far as I know. My mom called the parting and brushing part “the beehive” and then put a bandanna over it. Although I’ve seen some ppl use plastic wrap? Still, I think it’s pretty cool how we all have similar methods for maintaining blowouts/heat ironed hair
I don’t know how to do rolos so I been doing my tubi ( not perfect) but it have been working for me. I’m loving how nice my hair looks. I have straight wavy hair.
I'm from DR, I usually use pins to do the tubi but I take them off after I put my "net". I'm gonna try this method 'coz i struggle a lot with the pins tbh
haha yes! I've heard "dubi" before as well! On gym days, my hair gets pretty nasty because of the sweat but I'll upload a video with some tricks on how to refresh the blowout :]
You just taught this old lady a new truck! I have never seen the tubi done that way. I don’t do the rubi because I always get a headache and one side of my scalp always gets this weird sensation. But, I’m gonna try this way. Do you do it going one way all the time or do you alternate sides?
I am also from DR & do tubis every night after going to el salon or doing my hair at home, I do it similar to how you do it, but I don’t bring all my hair to the front... Pero si los tubis son salva vidas! Hehe.
Girl, thanks so much for this video. I’ve tried a few different ways of doing it and it never worked for me. I love love love your channel and personality (Dominicana here). I usually don’t follow anyone on TH-cam but I find myself waiting for you to upload new ones all the time!
Julissa Guillen absolutely girl 😘 .. I would love to see a dry shampoo review I’ve tried a few, especially when my hair is blown out but I would love to see what you use!
oh God i LOVE your videos Im a venezuelan girl with curly hair and i go to hair salon every single week to get a blow dry but nooow omg ill get the calista brush and im set. thank you sooooo much. !!! new subscriber btw much love❤️❤️❤️❤️
¡Me super encanta tu canal! He aprendido bastante. BTW tienes un pelo hermoso.
aw! gracias amor! es mucho mas dificil con pinchos y es verdad, duele un poco la cabeza con los pinchos. Muchas gracias por tu comentario! Saludo a mis boris!!
Lol I do it that way too cuz with the bobby pins is just too complicated. Glad im not the only one. My mom is like you're doing it wrong, but im just like. Hey it works! But honestly is cuz i dont know how to do it like saloneras do. Just found your channel and i think is great!
Thank you so much for this video!! I've been wanting to know how to do this on my hair for forever. Friends always say it's easy but my hair is the ultimate escape artist and I personally don't like using bobby pins either. I'm going to try this out tonight! Quick question: what's the difference between which direction you go to tuck in the hair? Absolutely love your channel! Thanks again!!
Curious, how often do you have to repurchase a new net? I’m sure they get stretched out over time. I think I found some quality nets on Etsy. I think doing it this way compared to the way that I’ve tried it in the past, may be less damaging and not pull on my edges as much. Thank you.
I'm Cubana and I wear both the dubi and the nets both to keep my blowout straight and sometimes as a hat in the summer to keep my hair off my back and shoulder to keep my head cool. I don't wear it with a pañurlo though.
I've only tried this with the bobby pins, and it was a disaster! Thanks for showing me this easier way. Do you find that it makes your roots oilier faster?
I notice that with bobby pins my hair becomes a mess as well lol it's too complicated haha but I feel like this actually helps my roots stay more fresh and less oily as compared to leaving it down or in a pony tail. My hair gets so much oilier quicker if I don't do a tubi!
Some of my cousins who live in Barranquilla, Colombia 🇨🇴 do this with their hair. I grew up in the U.S., so I’ve never done it, but I’m thinking about trying it because my hair is wavy and when the humidity is high, it can get frizzy.
I’m puerto rican and hungarian, wearing a dubi wrap rn! 🤣 Are you supposed to use pins bc I just wrap my blowouts with a comb before putting it on and it works just fine 🥰

Thank you for teaching me what a tuby is, better to show me how to make one and that my hair is straight, keep it that way for a longer time ⏳ 😁 thousand likes 👍 because of that.
Yo tengo 62 alos y me hago el dubi desde que tenía mis 15 años. Siempre me lo hago con un pañuelo, no uso pinches. El cabello dura mucho más. Gracias por el video. Soy de Puerto Rico.
Hy julissa. You look so cute. My hair is super straight but i just cut my hair in long layers. And i notice that when i woke up my hair have this curls in the bottom. I’ve been using a net like for as long as I have long hair is the best way to do a Dubi, I’m from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 but I live in Orlando FL and I get mine at a Dominican beauty supply
Nestor Perez haha yes! I got mine at a Dominican beauty salon and I love it! I never lend it to anyone because I’m scared to lose it haha cuz it fits perfectly! 😝
My mom brushed my hair to the side and holds it all with pins until it’s all held down and ready for the dubi. Next, we put it on with my assistance by doing what I like to call “devil horns” meaning putting two fingers on my forehead and pulling it over. We adjust by turning it a bit, freeing the ears etc. And then she takes out the pins!!
When you mentioned the pins I was like 'oh she is talking about la toca or la vuelta', we call it either way in colombia (at least in barranquilla) but I don't like it with pins because 1. I can't do it for the life of me and 2. They always leave marks and I hate it 😩 But maybe i will try it with a net. It looks waaay easier

So simple and I even had a tubi in my drawer! I just used a bonnet on top, to reduce any friction. Thank you for posting this!
BRO TYSM IDK HOW TO DO THE ONE WITH THE BOBBY PINS THIS IS MAD EASY
Girl, today i tried this technique... Gooosh, it was easier and quicker, and every little hair is on place. My tubi is on point. Love you. 💓

In Israel we call it Tabu Agela, we don't use this hat, but we use black hair pins, to hold the hair in the same way. I will try your way, thanks
I need that hair net for my dubi. My aunt taught me using pins. You've simplified the process. Tyfs!
GIRL, AMO ESTO! This is so REAL, and USEFUL and DOWN TO EARTH! En México no tenemos esto, lo voy a empezar a hacer, ¡besos!
Watching this with my tubi lmao
I always tell ppl don’t underestimate that Doobie wrap that circulation and blood flow to your scalp is the 💣
In Puerto Rico it’s a must , the humidity is fierce . Puertorriqueña use the dubi method too .
I am definitely try it this way without having to brush my hair around my head or use hair pins!
In 🇵🇷 we say “Dubi” 😂 i use the metal pins- make the dubi - and i use “paños” (i don’t know how to say that )😂 and then take out the pins.
YES, for a minute I thought have I been saying it wrong for my entire life?! Lmao
haha yes! I've heard "dubi" before!! :P
Yes! 🇵🇷
Before watching, I thought maybe I misunderstood how people pronounce. Dooby has bobby pins. This method doesn't.

haha yes! I've heard "dubi" before as well! On gym days, my hair gets pretty nasty because of the sweat but I'll upload a video with some tricks on how to refresh the blowout :]
We don’t say “Dubi”. At least not if you actually live in DR. I’ve only heard “dubi” after I came to NY
I've lived in DR my whole life and we do not say dubi, we say tubi
Katherina Maldonado exactly! 🤷🏻♀️ like in what part of DR do people say dubi? Cuz again, I never heard that there and I lived there until I was 17.
I do the doobi myself but your way is much better 😮👏👏. Your way is so much faster and effective. Thanks so much for the tip I can't wait to try it👏👏
I did it just like you said and it came out beautifully!!! ❤❤❤❤
I love that, thank you for sharing. I just put my hair up in a pineapple or into pick tails, But it always gets dents.
yes! those dents are annoying! this "tubi" doesn't leave any dents though! That's why I love it so much!
Dear I love your videos!!! Which eyeshadow do you use? They are so fantastic on you!!
In South Africa we call it a “swirlkous”
I’ve never seen it done like that only with the Bobby pins, the way you do it seems so much quicker. I can’t wait to try it.

i’ve been using tubis ever since i was old enough to get a blowout lol, gotta love that dominican childhood

Im going to try this version tonight. I use bobby-pins pins and then take them off after I put the net. But this is easier.
what do you put in the hair before putting iit in the rollers, that the hair is very nice and soft after drying it? What product, please. Thanks
Thank you for showing me how because my mother and I don’t know how to do it with pins!!!
You're welcome !!

Yay!! I was waiting for a video like this ☺️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
haha yay! so glad you enjoyed it!

I'm mostly East Indian, and my mother used to wrap our hair like that to make it straight since she didnt want us using flat irons.
