- After colliding at Centre Point and blocking Oxford Street, Tottenham Court Road and New Oxford Street, the bus drivers needed to move their buses as the West End easily became gridlocked. But the not-in-service route 25 bus had an engine failure. Happy Tube Strike days..

The 'London Transport' bus driver training school, at Chiswick was at one time the best training centre in the world for training bus drivers.
This particular driver has not received, the intensive and thorough programme of driver and skid training.
It is in one way not his fault. The blame and fault rests with the company who trained him, and then passed him out as competent. He clearly is not. However many bus drivers today are expected to work longer shifts on duty, because their companies are thinking more about their profits and less about their employees.
Should you take a ride on a bus in London, you will find many drivers are driving at excessive speeds because they are trying to make up time.
I do feel very sorry for this man and his colleagues. They are trying to do the impossible. In the end more accidents are going to happen, so please spare a thought for the driver behind the wheel. All the best.👍

Most of the central london buses are the Borismasters - thankfully I like them
The New Routemaster has a longer wheelbase than most buses! You need more room to turn them after driving regular Enviro and Wright/Eviseto buses!

The driver is an idiot. There was plenty of room. He should try using g his mirrors, there was no excuse for that at all. If that driver worked for me he would be out of the door!
It wasn't engine failure, there's a sensor on the bonnet which if it thinks it's open, it prevents the bus from being started.
That makes sense.

More reasons why those buses were a mistake to this network. This video single-handedly brings me constant joy. Having to see those eyesores everywhere in London is beyond depressing, especially over some of my favourite routes

Shouldn't have shut the Chiswick training centre where I learned to drive. Saying that, the old Routemasters were much better because you had the wheels up front instead of behind you. Poke them round the corner and the rest of the bus follows. Fantastic buses and a pleasure to drive.
Isnt that the case with every bus, you poke them out the front and rest of the bus follows or does it stay behind with new buses
@@thug2772 No Tayyib, you have to allow for the overhang at the front if the wheels are behind you. Wheels up front you don't have an overhang there.
390 (if I'm not mistaken) was the last new bus route to be allocated RMs, it having arisen from splitting the old 10.
Extended Bodies for Most of the Buses
Much as I am not comfortable to ask the depot why they stopped running the London Suburban Loud 4-Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Automatic Gearbox Gardner 6LX and Gardner 6LXC Diesel Engine Olympian ECW’s on routes N26, 30, 121, 230, 271, 349, N279 And 158 why can’t we make the same make of the Loud 4-Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Automatic Gearbox Gardner 6LX and Gardner 6LXC Diesel Engine Olympian ECW Buses but Modernise the insides of these Buses. Also make it low floor up and down and also extend the middle body part of these vehicles a little bit more so there will be more space for the wheelchair users. By the way, if you could remake and Modernise these vehicles could they also make it into a Loud 4-Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Automatic Gearbox Gardner 6LX and Gardner 6LXC Diesel Engine Olympian ECW Version’s that if it will be possible and to Modernise the insides of these Loud 4-Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Automatic Gearbox Gardner 6LX and Gardner 6LXC Diesel Engine Olympian ECW’s make it low floor up and down and also extend the middle body part of these vehicles a Little bit more so there will be more space and even a London Suburban Scania N230UD Enviro 400 MMC and also extend the middle body part of these vehicles a little bit more. Why couldn’t we have those London Suburban Buses Pale red on the top roof Pale red again on the top middle Milk Chocolate brown on the middle Creamy white on the Bottom Middle and Milk Chocolate Brown again on the Bottom on most of those kind of those Particular Double Decker Vehicles. Could you put the Loud 4-Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Automatic Gearbox in the Scania N230UD Enviro 400 MMC and also put the Loud 3-Speed Voith Diwa Gearbox in the Volvo TD102KF Engine East Lancs Olympus and also extend the middle body part of these vehicles a little bit more and also turn most of them to a London Suburban Buses. In such situations. Do they have to stand on the same spot for minute after minute? Or could they fix details later, move the buses and allow traffic to pass?
SSEnrich if the busses are still driveable, then we must exchange details, and then continue with the route. When we’re back at the garage we must log all the details into the designated accident site within 48 hours

The answer is very simple! The Metroline Driver needed re-training in the other bus had it's hand brake on!

I'm sorry but The Metroline (Hocks and spits) bus driver should have been more professional! If you can't get through use code Blue! Maybe M'line should consider instigating a Safety Training School. This is so Sad as My M'line Instructor was Dave Arnsby - what a great bus instructor - he would be disgusted by this - as am I who am now an A.D.I Qualified PCV Instructor! 3 times I tried to offer you my skills to prevent this M'Line and 3 times you turned me down because I'm OVER QUALIFIED! I watch this and rest my case!
I applied with National Express - Sipson Depot! Their depot Manager also turned me down for the same reason! (Over qualified) - he saw me as a threat to his job! It's a shame he didn't look closer to home as Sipson Depot no longer exists! It moved to Reading and he lost his job! National Express did that! I might have been able to save his depot with my experience but he chose not to employ me! Again - I rest my case!

Well ever since the 10 was scrapped the 390 has been very useful in taking me from Hyde Park Corner to Kings Cross, and from Victoria to Oxford Circus after the 73 got cut back
