How to Refurbish Rocker / Cam Covers! (TVR Rover V8 resto overhaul)

- Often overlooked, Cam or Rocker covers can make or break an engine bay. Why have scabby, worn and dirty covers when you can spend 5 days (!) overhauling them? No brainer really!!

I had exactly the same bother with that crinkle paint as you. Which is strange as I did a red rocker cover in the same stuff and it was awesome.

I have to admit that I couldn't just sit through all of the sanding so I did skip forward a little. However great vid' as ever loving the TVR stuff again.
Another enjoyable watch. Couple of things. The pipe from the inlet manifold doesn't connect to the brake master cylinder, it goes to the brake servo. A wee bit pedantic but... and if you haven't already changed the fuel lines, keep a close watch on them as they deteriorate quickly thanks to E5 fuel and poor rubber compounds used nowadays. A number of Chims have caught fire recently for that very reason.
Anyway, if you remove the 'orrible orange plastic from the oil filler cap (easiest way is to burn it off), you'll find a nice alloy cap underneath that you can polish so its nice and shiny! The plastic was only there to stop you burning your mitts but you're tough....!
Good to hear the swear squeaker as always but no pish whistling? Oh, and don't overdo it on the silicone or it ends up in the sump blocking your oil pick up filter (see many vids of the result on the tube that is You!)
