How to pair Huawei watch GT2 with Samsung Galaxy S20

- Here's how to pair a Huawei Watch GT, Watch GT 2, Watch GT2e, Watch fit, watch gt pro, with a Samsung galaxy, or any Android smartphone. My Huawei Watch GT 2 was previously paired to a Huawei Mate 20 pro but I recently bought the galaxy S20 FE. Fortunately, Huawei’s watches are compatible with both iPhones and Android phones. So, there’s no need to buy a galaxy watch for fitness tracking.

The first thing is to un-pair the watch from your previous device. To do this, swipe down from the top of the Huawei Watch GT and click the settings icon. Scroll down and click system, then disconnect. That will un-pair your watch without erasing the data stored on it. However, if you want to clear all the data on the smartwatch, you can use the reset option instead. After this step, the watch would turn on its pairing mode. If the watch is brand new, then the pairing mode is enabled automatically on the first boot.

I had no trouble with the pairing on my last phone so I thought the new phone must be no good as it just came up with "device not supported" when I tried to pair them. I need help. I have followed your instructions to the letter. I am still having problems. For example, I did not get the prompt to sign in to the health app using the username and pw I just created for the gallery. I have downloaded it from the play store and from Huawei's site. Hi by using the following steps, does this mean all the features and benefits on my samsung phone will be same as a huawei phone? Besides that, can this watch make and whatsapp calls ? That is very important for me. Lastly, how many workout modes does this watch have? Cuz some review says that there are only 12 workout modes, whike others say that there are 100++ workout modes. Amazing clear and precise video. Do you own a Huawei watch? I plan to get the gt2 pro and worried how well it works with Android after their ruffle ! I've heard it's more of a glorified fitness band and not so much of a smart watch since it doesn't let you interact with notifications. Thanks & cheers
The watch receives notifications eg text messages, emails etc. You can open and read them on the watch. But you can't do a quick reply from the watch.

Yes actully I also use the freebuds pro with my S20Fe through the AI life app. If you have the Huawei app gallery installed you can download the AI life app from it.

I've been able to pair my GT2e watch with my galaxy A54 phone but i cant get my phone alarm clock to show on my watch as well.
I used to use it perfectly on my old Honor phone, it was handy as it woke me up better 😂

Thanks for this video! I was able to connect my Huawei watch gt2 on my Samsung S20 but the GPS is not working on my watch. If I try with another phone (e.g: Iphone) it works. Can you help?
Try enabling the huawei health app location permission. Apps>Huawei health>Permissions>location

Hi all. After pairing the devices most things worked notmally but I noticed one function that does not, which is the ability to stop or postpone the phone alarms through the watch. This used to work with my previous smartphone (Honor play) but with the Samsung it does not. Has anyone encountered the same and do you know if there is any setting that I may have missed that could allow this? thanks again.

Yes all the features work on a Samsung phone.

All of its features work with a Samsung smartphone exactly as they would work with a Huawei smartphone.

I use the Huawei’s watches because my priority is battery life. But Samsung’s watches have more features. I believe the galaxy watch 3 has an Electrocardiogram which is something you may be interested in. But it’s battery life is about 3 days as opposed the Watch GTs 7 to 10day battery life. So you should buy according to your priorities. That would be my recommendation.

Yes you can see all your notifications from WhatsApp, messenger, sms etc as long as you enable them in the app notifications settings inside the Huawei health app

Yes just follow the same steps. They all connect through the Huawei health App.

The main difference between both is that GT 2e doesn't have a speaker and microphone while GT 2 has. Appart from that, they are pretty much the same.
What happen if the clock loses the signal? Does't reconnet by itself?
It will reconnect anytime it's with Bluetooth signal range .

Hello my phone said if I download a Huawei app in my Samsung s21 it will harm my device.. Is it OK to continue downloading the app I'm a Lil bit confused 😖
I don't think that message specifically refers to a Huawei app. It's a general android heads up which is displayed when you are downloading an app from outside the playstore.
I think it reads something like this "for security, your phone is set to block installation of apps obtained from unknown sources".
This message is meant to warn people especially those who are not sure about what apps they are installing.
That said I don't think the Huawei app gallery is harmful. It's just another Android App store. And I've been using it on my S20Fe for almost a year now.
And that's the only way you can get the watch to work. So if you don't feel comfortable installing the app you shouldn't proceed. But the watch won't pair with your phone too.

If you can install the most recent versions of the Huawei app gallery and the Huawei health app then there's no reason why it shouldn't work. It's supposed to work on all android phones. I think from Android 5.0 and later.
I have follow these syeps to the point when need to download Huawei health app and I stuck here. I can not get oryginsl app only these stupid third party apps containing adds are avaliable to download and they don't work. What do do please?
Download the app from the Huawei store. Use the link in the description to download and install the store directly from Huawei's website.
Good tutorial, but whatever I do I cannot see Contacts in the Health App, then contacts can call me but only the red reject button shows, no answer icon. I've a Samsung S21, so frustrating!
