One of the cutest games I have ever played but never finished because I didn't know how to use the objects you pick up...
Never knew what to do in this game. I just used to wander around, checking stuff out. Reminds me of Sunday afternoons in the late eighties.
The ZX Spectrum had such a unique style to the graphics.
Always loved the different items having their own musical jingle when you picked them up!

This was one of the best games just for exploring, I remember it all, the 2 rollercoasters were the best bit...
This second part of Jack the Nipper was a GREAT leap ahead in all terms. JTN2 has excellent graphics, a huge map to explore and a sense of freedom that, back in its time, was something highly appreciated! Beyond all this, Gremlin did find an intelligent "workaround" to avoid color clashes and even "played" with that workaround to create perspective effects, such as the ones where we can see Jack walk behind and/or in front of pillars!!
JTN2 is one of the best platform/adventure games on the Spectrum and by far the best version of all systems - C64 and CPC. It delivered hours and hours of entertainment, fun and exploration. 9.5 / 10!!

I love how clumsy the baddies are, and how they all just aimlessly wander off platforms and plunge (I’ve always assumed) to their deaths!

This may be the most underrated Spectrum game.
One of the best things about the Spectrum is how many games it had. Even after all this time I'm still discovering well-loved games that I've never seen before. A far cry from modern games consoles which have a dozen stand-out titles if they're lucky! :) I really like how this game looks, though to be honest, I find the jumping noise really irritating.
I finished all Dizzy games, never had a clue what to do in this game though. No clues and some weird item usage. Still it was very fun to just fool around in the game, spent a lot of time with this.
I find compleely insane that anyone was able to finish this back at the day. The solution for this game is cryptical as hell, and you have to backtrack like crazy to use the right items at the right spots. Back at the day I never did mora than 2 goals in the same game.
It wasn't much different with the first one, but at least the first one had a map that made sense and the items weren't so scattered. I actually managed to figure out all the "naughties" you had to do, just never managed to do all of them in the same game (And you still need to do some extra stuff like break EVERY item after you use it to reach 100% and actually beat the game - I never figured out this back at the day)

Very primitive now but classic I played this in the 1990s
So a friend of mine made a map of this game drawn by hand to try to figure it out. We still never finished it. That was in the late 80s. Today he works for Bethesda!

This game has a feature / bug. The order you did the goals is important. You should make all others goals before use the honey. Use the honey (49:51) should be the last goal (some goals are disabled after you use the honey). Then, if you exchange this order, is impossible to finish. (In the code there is a JP NZ after you use the honey and the other goals are not evaluated. If you change this to CALL NZ, then after you use the honey the others goals are still evaluated and the order is not important anymore). (Edit: This text had some errors).

@@r-lyeh9049 Hi! It was 30 years ago for MSX but I've searched it again and looked for Speccy equivalent. After you make the honey prank 0x8823 is set. Then this sequence says "If 0x8823 is set then don't test all pranks". "3A 23 88 B7 C2 BB 8B". So the last prank must be to use the honey. If you change JP NZ to CALL NZ then you can make pranks in any order. Just change 0xC2 to 0xC4. Tested in MSX but can't find the address in Speccy. But I think now you can find the sequence and change that byte easily. (In MSX the sequence is "3A 11 88 B7 C2 A9 8B"). That's why only a few players finished this game.

Had this on my 48 k spectrum and got the map out of comp magazine the roller coaster was good

From the video, at 47:50 minutes it seems easy to kill the wolf ... but I can't ... It doesn't seem like you have to do it like using other objects (cursor down + fire). How you do it?
