香港海關一直肩負保護知識產權的重任。根據香港法例第528章《版權條例》，海關人員全力偵查及檢控有關電影、戲劇、文學、音樂和其他出版物品的侵權活動。根據香港法例第362章《商品說明條例》，海關人員亦負責打擊偽冒商標和虛假商品說明的違法行為。海關的版權及商標調查科主力打擊本地的盜版侵權活動。
The Customs and Excise Department is responsible for protecting intellectual property
rights in Hong Kong. Under the Copyright Ordinance, Cap. 528, customs officers strive to investigate and prosecute infringement cases like movies, drama, literature, music, and other published works. Under the Trade Descriptions Ordinance, Cap. 362, customs officers constantly fight against illegal activities on trademark infringement and false trade descriptions. The Intellectual Property Investigation Bureau of the Department takes a leading role to fight against intellectual property infringement in Hong Kong.
