    While it's important to get enough hangers to hold up the floor, and have them pretty much evenly spaced, it's more important to _not_ put a hanger where it will interfere with a joist. If a joist or two has to be mounted 2 or 3 inches off, your subfloor guys will be cussing and your drywall guys will be cussing (when they hang the ceiling). You shouldn't wing it when deciding where your 16 or 24 inch O.C. joists start, because sure as shootin, you'll need to put a toilet right where there's a joist. Plus there could be an issue with air ducts.
    Figuring all this out should be the job of the architect. In fact, it'd be insanely great if the architect were to figure out where to put your bracing posts, so they don't interfere with hanger placement.
