Shaving your head for the show is a huge sign of commitment
Killua Zoldyck the only all male groups in the marching activity are the Madison Scouts and Cavaliers
I literally flew to Dayton, waited 13 hours through rain delays and crowds of people just to see this battery tech. The man is a living legend
Joe Pallita search "music city mystique 2010" and look at the thumbnail of the very first video, thats him too haha
Joe Pallita Ben Lupton used to tech at my high school. Page High School. Look us up if you haven't heard of us
I remember seeing them in the lot in Kentucky and we were kinda in their practice area a little bit (and by me I mean 100 plus people.) so the the center, Ben, just walks up and brings his hand up and suddenly 100 people move backwards without him saying a word. Intimidation factor 100.
Gonna be honest. I really wanted BC to win. But these guys had the gold since the beginning.
the center snare gave me his sticks before the finals lot
to sound that fucking clean with a microphone at that angle is insane. clap it up
i have one of those pairs of sticks.... i went to go watch the finals lot and a snare came out to check the tech and see how tuning was going and he had a pair of sticks and he handed them to me as he left
That look into the camera at 19:57 tho
@tigerwoman37086 yo!!! You probably don't remember and that's fine but I either talked to the father of his while in the lot!
Damn. That first spock roll had my jaw dropping lol
congrats to them for getting the gold!
9:03 What the fuck is Coyote Peterson doing there
well deserved gold. from early on I knew they would take it. when I first saw them in uniform, they reminded me of Dr.Satan from House of 1000 Corpses 🤘🤘🤘🤘
My brain literally just melted
Someone please explain this incredible show to me omg
Tortilla Shell there's an explanation by Flow Marching (I think) that explains it.
Basically how man destroys all that he touches and they are fighting over the last resources.
It's describes how humans are destroying this planet (pollution, deforestation, littering, etc) and how we are using up all the resources. The gas masks are to show that the air, when this story is taking place, is so bad that it is dangerous to not wear one, like it already is in some parts of the world like China. The moving marimbas(which was absolutely awesome btw) resembles deforestion. The marimbas act like limbs of a tree falling to the ground.
Basses are clean! Jesus Christ!!!
4:03 is me at every DCI/WGI competition. Such excitement!!
Greatest Look of all time
That fucking spock roll
Big fan my friend
Thank you so much for this video!! :)
I couldn't find the marimba solo in this one. ;(
The concerto for marimba and choir by gene koshinki may be what you're looking for! I'm not sure tho tbh, but the part at 12:12 is totally from that
Where to find this snare opner from?
I didn't know they actually cut their hair but it was worth it
Mad max
those bass hops.
So, were gonna have to all shave our heads for the show...
is this show about mad max?
Alex Holland No, it was not about MM. The show was called Hand of Man. It signified how people are destroying the Earth, and how eventually were going to be waring against one another for the last resources. The masks are supposed to show that the air is so polluted that it is dangerous not to wear one.
ImA NewbieCuber I know :) I'm just trolling since everyone thought the show was just Mad Max. I had a couple friends that marched this year. Nice explanation though!
war boys
Muito bom!
The opening roll can make a straight man go gay
Damn.. they actually had to shave their head.
How a group this dirty won I’ll never understand
Snare line had a lot of dirt, sorry to say. Great line though. Tenors were tight.
Peter Jackson sorry to say Peter but until you get on this line or can actually play this then you can judge. But not until then.
Steven Jeffery That's not a fair statement. I wasn't on 1992 phantom and I know that was one of the dirtiest lines I've ever heard live. However, it is hard to judge clean by video. Only cause the mic picks up closest drums and the ones in back seem late. In person they're better.
Balloon poPPeR your right! I didn't judge fairly because you can hear dirt and say something. I overreacted.
Peter Jackson sorry for being so harsh. Its good that you hear dirt and yeah your right. The tenors do sound great!
Its a good show, but pulse should have won imo
Reason why they could win the Championship is that they have huge passion. This show is not clean but very interesting & passionable.
Gimmicks over chops. 88SCV
I would be embarrassed to where those uniforms
Skittlz Hell no I wouldn’t, they look badass and mean, not to mention they look very uniform
I think the shaved head was stupid. They did not need it. Dick move not to tell the members about until after they made the line. Apparently all the members did it. I wonder how it would have been had one or two refused to go along with it.
Well Of course they didn't "need" it, but it makes the uniform that much more powerful. It's WAY more intimidating, and it ads to the whole premise of their body slowly dying.
It wasn't a dick move, it was calculated. People who are not in the ensemble don't have any business knowing what's going on in the ensemble, simple as that. Also, it would've ruined the element of surprise.
And I'm sure the members didn't have any problem with it. Shane Gwaltney said so himself the members were absolutely for it when he explained the concept. Hell, even 2 ladies in the front ensemble did it! It's just hair...
Fair enough. I wonder, though, if someone decided not to. Would he/she be ostracized from the group? For me I do not think I would have. those notes you played would have been all the hype I needed. This is Mystique's best show since Mantra. Far and away the most interesting and engaging show this year. If only I was twenty five years younger and I had both legs . . . .
That's good to hear that the others respected their feelings. I have my own personal feelings about white guys with shaved heads so that is why I was a little put off by it. I showed this to my daughter, and she was like "no fucking way am I cutting my shit off for anyone."
On finals night in the bass lot I screamed "yeah bass" and bass 4 stared me in the eyes and glared at me. I feel so honored
Nick Hajakian are you the same guy that said yea bass at south regional
That’s cap
Not as bad as the guy that got told to shutup by the staff 😂
