    This saddle bag has been amazing and would be the perfect compliment to any bikepacking set-up. Who else has used one and got anything they would like to add? Or perhaps any questions I didn't answer in the video?

    Nice review, and loving the other videos too, very inspirational. Looking to get back into my cycling, don't want to spend my life being a Kyle. Keep up the good work!

    Hi mate, I have the full set of these bags including the fork bags, I got the set you mentioned on a deal about 2 years ago for 39.99 and the fork bags again on a deal for 20.00 the pair, I get all my kit including tent and cook gear easily into them.
    I was lucky that I got the set after they had changed them to a mat black finish from that really black gloss finish, I'm over the moon with them and they've took some abuse and so far are still going strong with no damage. I find it less fiddly to attach the saddle bag if you loosen the 2 under seat straps right out then feed them through and tighten 😉 I'd 100% recommend if your not a name snob lol, they're cheap but good quality and do exactly what they're meant too. Think I have a few vids on my channel showing them.
    Great review and well made 👏 👍

      Hi Mick, thanks for feedback on the rest of the bags. Good to hear you are having a solid experience with them.
      The guy on the ride had the older style that wasn't matt finish, and they look better in the current design that's for sure.
      Great channel and videos you've got, subscribed now to keep in the loop.
      How did the fork bags handle? I'm reluctant to get some as I worry they would make steering a little tougher. Be interest to know your thoughts.
      Happy riding mate 👍

      @mammothjourneys I had exactly the same concern but honestly I forget they there most the time, mine are on suspension forks so had to attach with the jubilee clip supplied, they've never moved, but you have the brazzed mounting holes on your forks so would be even better 👍 yep I was so relieved when they turned up in mat that gloss black makes them look cheap in my opinion, thanks for the sub, again really appreciated 😉

      @@Mickoutdoors that's good to hear. I may give them a go in the future as I will probably need some space eventually. Yeah agreed the gloss finish does look cheap, better now. Cheers Mick and keep an eye out for some more videos in the future

    How does the bag perform with water and mud etc coming off the back wheel?

    • @mammothjourneys
      @mammothjourneys  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alastair, it got pretty covered on the King Alfred's Way with mud and wiped clean easy enough. Water was no issues at all, it's been in downpours and keeps things nice and dry. Any other questions let us know and hope you have a decent trip planned coming up.

      Thanx for the response, just recently got into road cycling although suffering with long covid😭 but love reviews like this. Reminds me of my motorcycling pillion bag kreiga which is absolutely brilliant to. Hope to do a tour one day and have already looked up deals on Planet X website so may go for the deal despite not going to tour as yet!

      @@alastairmarshall7040 oh no, sorry to hear about the long Covid, wishing you a speedy recovery.
      Good to hear you starting your cycling journey, you will love it I'm sure. One of the reasons I love this bag, and the whole series of them, is that they are so reasonable for those just starting out. Kriega are a solid brand and I'd like to think the PODSACs could hold their own.
      Please let us know how you get on and what adventure you find yourself on, love it!

    What sleeping bag is that you’re using?

    • @mammothjourneys
      @mammothjourneys  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ha ha this was an unwanted item from a random traveller in a hostel in Argentina from when I was there in 2006! I think it's called a Wigwam, but I can check in a few days. It's good for summer riding only. A compact sleeping bag is on my list of kit to buy.

      @markjohnchaneybaxter100 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@mammothjourneys thanks, well at least it has a good story! Looks ideal for summer. I’m also on the hunt for a good summer bag, think my current one will be a bit bulky (rab ascent 500)

    • @mammothjourneys
      @mammothjourneys  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @markjohnchaneybaxter100 to be fair I always found I took some sort of jacket with me, so if I sleep in that I'm not cold, which is why my money gets spent elsewhere on other kit. I have a thicker North Face bag but it just takes up so much space, and I'll still need a jacket of sorts most likely @@markjohnchaneybaxter100

    HOW MANY SADDLE BAGS HAVE YOU OWNED AND USED BEFORE THIS TO COMPARE WITH

    • @mammothjourneys
      @mammothjourneys  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Bikepacking, this was the third one of this size I have used but the first I have owned - and had to buy! The others I had borrowed off a mate. One was a Topeak but unsure of the other one. I decided against referencing against the Topeak one specifically in function and features, and rather highlighted what the Planet X bag had. I presume from your TH-cam name you have trialled quite a few bags - any makes and models which take your pick?

      @@mammothjourneys every bag i use is custom made by small cottage companies better quality compared to factory bags for sure ..and their the ones that really started it Bike Bsg. Dude …Jpaks ….thread works etc I had about 20 bags over the years 70% where sent to me for testing from factories but they where no match to cottage companies .. the best bag ie have had for 9 years and never failed is Gearjammer™ Seat Bag. Frame bags by merit gear and top tube bags by bike bag dude and stem bags by meritgear and for bags by dorm for front forks …..roll bags i only use sea to summit event large bags as all Bikepacking bag companies make there front roll bag to narrow

      @@Bikepacking Some great companies there I haven't even heard of. Love the bulky zips on those merit gear frame bags. What's the company you use for front forks? Can't seem to find them. Just subscribed to your channel - some great videos on there. Of the factory companies that sent you stuff that was good, were these the more expensive products or did it not really follow that rule?

    You can afford to buy the 14l at those prices.
