That was actually closer than I imagined. The grav/mag lev attack of the behemoth did serious damage to the Thunderjaw...I'd like to see thunderjaw vs rockbreaker.
Actually, no fight between an overidden machine and regular machine is fair. Overidden machines are far stronger when they're overidden possessing higher defense and attack then their nonoveridden counterparts. If the Thunderjaw was the one overidden, the fight would have been over in no time. I've tested these out. I once pitted one overidden Thunderjaw against two normal Thunderjaws, Overidden came out on top, and I did a similar test with many other machines, even grazers and striders. Overidden machine gains some seriously op defense and power. So all in all, the fact that the Thunderjaw STILL won in this fight is a testament to how op of a machine it is. It's been fighting with a handicap.

Overridden machines get too powerful. I once turned a sawtooth to my side. He tore through another sawtooth AND a fire bellowback, at the same time. And the aftermath? Overridden sawtooth started walking about its place and I looted the carcasses and left, with him having a bit of health LEFT.
this is the majesty of the game... pc gamer myself but played this in a ps shop.... paid price was worth it.... the game s was like farcry, assassinscreed, tombraider, witcher 3, and many more smashed into one, and the action directed by Michael bay with a NatGeo vibe in it
Except if the action was directed by Michael Bay, the story would be gutted for the sake of not diminishing the action, which would further harm the action because there would be no meaning behind it.

Joseph Simpson I’ve done it just rope down the big bird and override it. Then it follows you around so I went and found a T-Jaw to fight. The Stormbird won eventually by having the air attack advantage.
Hopefully horizon 2 they allow you to take full control of every machine meaning ride and use their weapons as you please ride them everywhere and of course ride fly with a stormbird that would be epic
Don't forget this is with the Behemoth getting the effectiveness boost that all machines get when you override them. If you watch a Thunderjaw vs an overridden Thunderjaw you will see what I mean.

This has got to be my FAVORITE part of this game. Pitting machines against one another through corruption arrows and overrides and just watching chaos taking over. I am entertained, Aloy is entertained, the universe is in perfect harmony just then.

An add-on? Why? It should have been a standard feature of the gameplay, but instead we get what would essentially be a pointless override feature due to dumb AI. Notice how the player here had to lure the Thunderjaw to the overridden machine for it to notice it. You should have been given the option to command the machines once overridden. This game is littered with many other bad design choices, it amazes me how it's so highly regarded, and yes, I've played through it to completion.
When u remember that the human race actually had to fight Machines like Deathbringers and corrupturs instead of ThunderJaws bc GAIA is the on that made all the animalistic machines
How to beat any machine without getting into a fight. Override nearby machines to wesr it down. Plant a million traps. And watch it blow up in the distance. 😂
my biggest gripe about this game was that it’s about highjacking machines yet you can’t give them commands so kinda dumb but very beautiful and love the mechanics and crafting system like crafting fast travel was very original

I think just being able to turn the machine into an ally is more than enough given the fact that the characters in this game, though surrounded by machines, are very primitive themselves.
This is why this game is too awesome. You can do directly the fights or you can INDUCE the fights to happen. I have the game and this is exactly what happens. The smart decision of direct engagement or indirect engagement is an act of micromanagement of resources such as ammo and health. The lore is quite accurate too since these machines are harvesters. They feed on organic life such as plants and other minor minerals. These are energy extractors. The lore and design of the story is deeply complex and enticing in many ways. Tactical negotiation in this game is done by the book. Ghost of Tsushima took notes and of course brought back the old tradition of horse riding and archer into the scene, a classical Japanese and Mongol tradition.
Been a playstation player for along time and never played this game. I had just started to play this now on PC and I am loving it. I'm only about 4 hours or so into it and I had no idea that I will be facing more machine creatures like this.

Watching these machines fight is probably the most spectacular thing I’ve seen a game to date lol I remember one time I override a snapmaw he was fighting two other snapmaws then two of those bird things came to join the fight as well. It was a 4 on 1 slug fest. My override snapmaw held its own. My 5 y/o son was watching and he said “whoa, this is a big fight” lol This game keep those tall necks well protected..,

Beautiful PlayStation exclusive! Love the fact that on one Ps game console gamers can switch between unique exclusives like God of war, bloodborne, uncharted, this one and many more. Meanwhile having the third party ones too! I would never ever exchange that to higher graphics or fps.
Maybe they should make a spin-off game where you can play as machines in combat; imagine being a Rockbreaker fighting a Thunderjaw or a Ravager fighting off incoming waves of Nora, Carja, Shadow Carja etc. And maybe racing with Striders for the fun of it XD

I used a Single Disc Launcher on a Thunderjaw, he lost half his HP before i ran out of Ammo
