So interesting that his howls are distinctly different when he sees Grannie and Nook, as compared to Keyush. A real vocabulary.
This is not unusual. Many dogs have different barks and howls depending on the situation. My next door neighbour could tell if she had visitors by the barks and howls my first dog made. I can tell when we are about to get a visit from either my brother, my neighbour (who takes him out sometimes) and the postman (Although that is more an angry "what the hell are you doing in my garden" bark.). So it's not unusual. If you hear it enough you'll learn the sounds.

@@OlagGan Spot on Olag! Dogs' "warning of danger" barks are very different - likely saved many lives. 💞 Dogs' barks & howls of pain+discomfort are immediately recognizable, especially if accompanied by intermittent whimpers...😟😥

When hes stuck somewhere idk in the passage way in our house he yelps like a baby rather than barks and we all know this means “help im stuck”

One of my dogs loved Nanny so much, he knew exactly when to to get up to get off the bus, and when we got to her road(a dead end) he would race down, and jump straight over her wall to get to her! RIP Pooch and Nanny.And all the other dogs.
