- Graphene - the material that you find at the end of your pencil - has been hailed as a wonder material of the 21st century. Researchers from the Centre for Graphene Science at the University of Exeter explain how it is capable of revolutionising the way our technology works, making it stronger, better and faster. Monica Craciun is Professor in the Engineering Department at the University of Exeter and a leading expert in nanomaterials. She has been awarded a prestigious Engineering Fellowship for Growth, aimed at maintaining UK’s leadership in Advanced Materials (which is one of the eight Great Technologies identified as crucial for the future prosperity of the UK).
Dimitar, who is currently a Research Consultant at Cast, was Monica’s PhD student at the University of Exeter. He came up with the idea of using graphene to make concrete stronger, which ultimately leads to 50% reduction of carbon emissions in the construction industry. His invention attracted a lot of media attention and got shortlisted for the UK TechFest 2018 awards. Many years ago they said by the year 2000 (Tomorrows World program) humans would not need to work as robots would be doing all the work. 2023 and we have people living on the streets in UK and pensioners dying of cold. Luckily, due to tech advances, we have mobile phones to talk to people in Australia free....about these problems.

En mi carrera que es la medicina me puede ayudar el grafeno de una manera muy importante , el grafeno por ejemplo está presente en las herramientas para medir los signos vitales y eso permite un monitoreo de las 24 horas y al darse cuenta antes se pueden detectar enfermedades mucho antes , aparte se pueden crear relojes médicos para medir signos.
Aparte los tatuajes electrónicos a mi como doctora me puede ayudar mucho y están hechos co. Grafenos están hechos para estar en contacto con nuestra piel y así mandan a los doctores la información necesaria y se puede tratar más fácil sin necesidad de hacer tantas pruebas y que sea más fácil, porque para medir la temperatura todo el tiempo, o la glucosa es complicado en cambio con este tatuaje lo tiene todo el tiempo y hace la tarea del medico más simple

para mi carrera de medicina la implementacion del grafeno seria muy útil, y en lo que yo pienso que podría infringir la mayor notoriedad y cambio es en el aspecto de los tatuajes para saber los signos vitales, lo cual facilitaría la labor de un medico casi en un 50%, sabiendo mucho mas rápido y mucho mas preciso el estado de un paciente, así como para un ingeniero biomedico, la utilización del grafenio es casi indispensable al ser un material tan fuerte y flexible.

Las enfermerades crónicas aumentan cada vez más y poder monitorear nuestros signos vitales le daría un gran apoyo a los médicos a realizar en el caso tal de detectar un deterioro clínico una intervenciones a menor tiempo y así salvar más vidas el grafeno está liderando el cambio hacia un nuevo tipo de dispositivos médicos portátiles.

Healthcare: cuando las enfermedades crónicas crecen hay que poder Monitoriar los signos vitales, el grafeno puede ayudar a detectar clinical deterioration en buen momento, si somos capaces de detectar ciertas señales monitoriando nuestros signos vitales podríamos evitar muchas cosas, como intervención temprana de los doctores y esto se podría conseguir con equipos médicos que puedan ser utilizados en la piel como tatuajes electrónicos hechos de grafeno entre otras cosas, también puede ayudar a manejar síntomas en personas diabéticas o como va el proceso de personas con Cáncer, estos tatuajes se han usado en ensayos clínicos para medir niveles de glucosa pero es difícil como rastrearlos y mantenerlos monitoreados, en un futuro el grafeno podría ayudar a medir los niveles de glucosa midiendo el azúcar por medio del sudor y así inyectamos la cantidad exacta de lo que el paciente con diabetes necesite, también podría ayudar con lentes de contacto inteligente
Esto podría ayudar en mi carrera como médica en un futuro.
