GYPSOPHILA | Shot by A7III HLG and cinematic color grading

- Hi guys. it's been a while. It's almost 4 months since I uploaded the last video. and today I'm going to start a new series which is called the "FEATURES". So in this series, I'm going to collaborate and feature other photographers, videographer and portrait models in my video and create something more great content which I can't create by my self.
So the first feat is these two people lily.chihiro1129(model) and nabecam(photographer). I met them on Instagram and they shot a really incredible photography all the time. I put the link below so you guys definitely need to check it out!

In this video, I shot everything in HLG(PP10) with my SONY A7III. and I can tell PP10 is really works. The day I shot this video, I overexposed in many scenes and I thought I messed up... but then I import footage to Davinci and bring down the hilight... I was so surprised! everything is back! my sky! It almost feels like editing raw photo when I color grading HLG format.
So I switch to HLG format from now on and think to make a CINEMATIC HLG LUT in near feature!

it looks so good but i dont understand when you say you thought it would be overexposed for me it is overexposed but you managed to make it so cool to look.
Yeah coz I bring back hilight in post and normally it’s difficult if I shotted in other picture profile!

Do you find that the Batis lenses auto focuses slower than Sony made lenses?
Think you bought a new HDR display device because you use HLG in your video, so could you make a video about processing the HLG material or your work flow ? thanks
You could just film in HLG but some filmmakers use HLG because it captures more color and dynamic range without having to overexpose like Slog, and then they convert the color space to rec709 to make the footage look good on all kinds of screens. The trick is that even though the output is 709 the files you're working with is 2020 so you will have lots of data to play with, like a raw file.
