Thank you for such an amazing lesson from Dr. Allred. Every week I think it can't get any better and then it does. I have been "troubled" by a promise in my Patriarchal Blessing for many years and today I have received insight into how that promise may be fulfilled after listening to your podcast, based on Dr. Allred's words "this life is a time of Preparation, not a time of Realization". Truly the podcasts are getting more and more relative to our day and understanding of the gospel. President Nelson's admonition to THINK CELESTIAL is evident every week in these lessons. Thank you for helping me understand the gospel better each week and implement the teachings into my life, mind and spirit. I was out of the Church for many, many years and returned 4 years ago, so learning things I really never knew and reacquainting myself with things long forgotten thru these amazing podcasts have taught me so much and increased my testimony of the goodness of God and the redeeming love of my Savior thru his words and life. Thank you!!!
WOW!!! Brother Allred was absolutely AMAZING!!! His insights really touched my heart and you could feel of his sincere love and devotion to our Savior. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
Bless and thank you for your wonderful podcasts. I look forward every week to your "Come Follow Me" lessons and the inspired guests you bring to your listeners who share their enlightened knowledge and testimony as well as your own.
I have attended many an institute class and many religion class but I have never understood the book ok Hebrews in this manner before. The types and shadows are so beautiful explained I am surprised that I haven’t seen it before. The Savior is incredible and your love for Him comes through reach pod casts. Thank you for your goodness.
I loved the thought that the Church has its own Dr. Phil. Dr. Allred provided wonderful, touching, authentic insights from his own experiences, such as praying for his father and receiving validation from the Lord. Sharing his less than stellar track experience reminded me a bit of how Joseph Smith was open about his own challenges, such as letting Martin Harris take the 116 pages despite the Lord telling him not to. Being transparent about their failings is helpful for others who struggle as well. As Dr. Phil said, I too want to love the Savior more and see Him better. Christ is the most powerful, righteous, merciful and kind, etc. etc. etc. being who ever lived on earth and He is in the express image and example of our magnificent, all-knowing and all-loving Heavenly Father, who is often given a bad rap by way too many people. Everything They both do is always for our best good. Thanks John, Hank, and Phil. I so love and appreciate your podcast and your wonderful guests.
I cannot thank you enough Hank and John for your great efforts to put this podcast together. I especially what to thank your guests. Every week they are so knowledgeable and great about sharing that knowledge with us. Thank you also to the Sorenson family for all they do and all the people that make this possible.❤️🩹👍🏼🌻
I would be amiss if i did not express my sincere & deepest gratitude for this blessing-of-a-podcast ~ our own Dr. Phil was amazing! Thank you all so very much for helping me come closer to our Savior and strengthening my testimony🙏🏻💫💛
I absolutely love Hebrews and the way you guys have a way of delivering the messages that are in the scriptures. Thank you so much for your time and talents to help us learn more about the Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ!❤
Brother Allred did an incredible job of explaining Hebrews 7-13. I was afraid that the second half of Hebrews wouldn't be equal to the first half. Bro. Allred did a wonderful job of giving insights into the book of Hebrews. Please invite him to return as a guest.
Thank you so much for your podcasts, watch them all the time, sometimes delayed and enjoy learning! I am from Russia, been living in SLC for 30 years, thinking all the time how fortunate I am to know English and how I wish members in Russian speaking countries can hear you! writing for the first time. But the topic about "God inflicting...." is very important to me, I am grateful for the quote of d elder Holland I can relate to proof my point. Feel impressed to share with you an experience I had about this concept of the Gospel. Years ago my son played football for high and was very good, was attacked and tackled a lot. Being from Russia I did not fully understand the game. One time at the game I saw particularly big group of huge Tongan kids in a pile where my son was on the bottom. I was not sure if he was going to stand up or not. I was terrified. He did stand up and was ok. I thought I cannot believe I as a loving mother signed him and even paid to be on the team. I made a quick decision that I am not going to him play anymore and shared my decision with another parent next to me. I remember him saying , marina I know how you feel, but our boys need it to grow and it is worth the risk. But most important thing happened in the next few min. I heard clear words from the Lord, very unexpectedly : this experience will help you understand how I, God feel. I send you to earth because you need it to grow, and you and Me both knew there will be great challenges which I did not send but they are just part of game of life. I am not going to take them away from you but I will be constantly watching the game ready to support you, cry with you ( or take to emergency room). I love you as you love your son." This experience changed my life and helped me so much to go through many challenges without loosing faith. Sorry it is so long and maybe not appropriate but I know you teach youth, maybe this analogy with football can speak to them. Thanks again!
To continue with the track metaphor.... The first leg of this two man relay was an amazing start with Dr Grey. The anchor leg was no less amazing. Dr Allred held his end up with quite the effort! We as listeners appreciate the efforts of all!
Wow! So much to ponder! This quote from Elder Maxwell came to mind, which I first heard on Bro. Smith’s talk mentioned by Bro. Bytheway: “The future duties given to some of us in the world to come by an omniscient God will require of us, and earned sense of esteem, as well as proof of our competency…. Thus the tests given to us here are not given, because God is in doubt as to the outcome, but because we need to grow in order to be able to serve with full effectiveness, not just in this life, but in the eternities to come.” Maybe we could also call the Plan of Salvation “God’s Plan of Eternal Development”. Thanks to Dr Allred for explaining Hebrews, and much thanks to Bro Bytheway & Bro Smith for past talks that have seen me through some tough “developing circumstances”! 💜
Thank you John, for the reference to the talk at RSC. It was so what I needed to hear. Another wonderful and amazing time I’ve spent with you all this week. You bless my life.
Thank you so much! Your careful preparation and attention to spiritual promptings have made this a sweet experience. I will be studying this book more carefully. I have been brought a little closer to the Lord. Thank you
Thank You from the depth of my hearth. your discussion caused me to realize yesterday I didnt "just do work for the dead". I actually conversed /stood in the presence of The Father and the Son- not just a veil worker- I enter into His Kingdom - my temple experience will forever be changed with ever deepening gratitude .
We were ecstatic when we saw your guest would be Dr. Philip Allred. My husband and I had the opportunity of working with him as he served as Stake President in a young married stake at BYU I. Surely enjoyed his discussion and hope he will be a guest of yours in the future.❤
Now I have a new question: Did Sarah consent to her son Isaac being sacrificed? Given the time and culture she, the one to give him birth, likely was not considered in the decision. Sometimes difficult for this woman to read scriptures.
Abraham knew human sacrifice was wrong. He came from a history were people were being sacrificed to pagan gods and in his own history where his father offered him up to be sacrificed. Now the Lord is asking him to offer his beloved son??? He did know that the Lord could stop it like He did for him but this would be a deep wound in his heart.

While studying these words I felt a strong Impression that there is no one more invested in us and our success than our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Loved this!! This podcast is such a blessing in my life. Thank you.

These Chapters Were Amazing!! Thank you so much To Dr. Allred and of course you two!! Such a spiritual blessing!!
I knew Dr. Philip Allred when he lived in Idaho Falls. His love of the scriptures, the gospel, and our Savior has always been a great example to us.
Discussion on having confidence in the Lord was great. Excellent reminder God isn’t looking to give us bad gifts when we are choosing the right.

I’ve loved attending the temple for 33 years. Today, after this episode, I realize I still know nothing about it. Thank you! ❤

What a great lesson thanks ❤
Thank you 😊
Wonderful ❤❤❤

I think most people don't quite understand the process of going through the veil on our first go.
Sarah means Princess.
Now I have a new question: Did Sarah consent to her son Isaac being sacrificed?
Given the time and culture she, the one to give him birth, likely was not considered in the decision.
Sometimes difficult for this woman to read scriptures.
Please give address to talks again.
