She most certainly didnt come prepared. Great weapon master requires that you use a two handed weapon, but a rapier is one handed and dueling doesnt work with two handed heavy weapons.

It is even official statement by Jeremy crawford himself, so not really much to discuss there :D And yes, it is not specifically stated in the episode of the same or different are meant. So Sarah's build doesn't make any sense. 1) She is a Halfling, which is Small sized, and can't wield a Heavy weapon without incurring Disadvantage. Great Weapon Master requires a Heavy weapon. 2) Rapiers aren't Versatile, so you can't two-handed it to get Fighting Style: Great Weapon Fighting and/or Great Weapon Master. She also can't get Great Weapon Master because a Rapier isn't a Heavy weapon. 3) If she was using a Longsword, which has Versatile, she could get Fighting Style: Great Weapon Fighting by two-handed it, but then she wouldn't get the bonus damage from Fighting Style: Dueling since she isn't wielding it in one hand. She also can't get Great Weapon Master because a Longsword isn't a Heavy weapon. 4) 6:40 How is she attacking three times when Wailen only attacked twice with Extra Attack. If she used Action Surge, she would attack four times. As far as I could tell from her build, she isn't using anything that gives her a Bonus action attack. Unless she got a crit and assumed she reduced Justin to 0 and then pre-emptively attacked using Great Weapon Master's feature, which again she can't use anyways.

Anyone else confused how Sarah's getting a -5 to hit +10 to damage on a rapier when the great weapon master feat specifies heavy weapons and not even small size will add that to a rapier? EDIT: To anyone who didn't get it... I forgot to imply the sarcasm, this is all in good fun lol
We should also discuss how she got a 24 to attack with a negative 5. Dueling is a 1 handed style only so that fighting style doesn't work. So she had a 29 meaning even with a natural 20+5 for dex and that would be a prof of 4. Someone's cheating lol

Shouldn't he have had AT LEAST 14 even if he had standard point array, but as goliath, more likely he had 16? So the lowest he could've got should've been a 4.

Given how things started out for Lance, I'm a little disappointed Sara steamrolled over him so easily. I was expecting it to be because Sara actually made an effort, things magically started going against her. I mean, they kind of did, but I was hoping because Lance was so not into it, he would've found the fun in the math because of how things just kept rolling in his favor instead. Plus, getting to see Sara get super angry at losing a duel to Lance seems like a missed opportunity.

It did resemble a less-disciplined version of some of your "editions" though, and it did get me thru a too-easy calculus class with a teacher out to get me... I was almost expecting "tis just a flesh wound" (or "I'm getting better!") after "not dead yet", but "just full of holes" got the job done too 😁👍

Monk edition needs an astral monk, a sun soul monk, and a way of the fist monk. Lance needs to make these monks.
Why be surprised that Sarah would take it seriously with the first truly damage focused class in the order they're going.

If the DM bothers to give out an NPCs name unprompted it's a sure sign that he's gonna be a challenge.

I assume I would have gotten more of the jokes had I done more d+d than our (cringe at name) "ghetto dnd" back in high school, which mostly involved stating some crazy action and rolling D20 to see if we succeed, as well as inventing items and their magic effect on stats (+5 awesome!). It did resemble a less-disciplined version of some of your "editions" though, and it did get me thru a too-easy calculus class with a teacher out to get me...
I was almost expecting "tis just a flesh wound" (or "I'm getting better!") after "not dead yet", but "just full of holes" got the job done too 😁👍
