@@damienboy1 Hey Damien, Yes I have opened a TFSA account with Wealthsimple trade. They sometimes have certain stocks glitch out. I was hoping to buy another 1000 shares of VZLA earlier this week when it dipped but they said that there was a corporation decision being made even though there wasn't and it was being traded on the TSX. I am disappointed because I would have gotten the shares at a discount relative to the current price. Still up 35% on that position though. Hopefully that stock comes back up again.

I believe his video was when Trade didn't have TFSA option

most brokers questrade ect. it costs extra monthly account add ons to have realtime, the best solution is when you're ready to buy on wealthsimple go to webull which is a free realtime trading app, find the exact price then set a limit order at that price on wealthsimple. its definely not the best option if you want to day trade, but if you're just starting out you don't want to day trade, i find the best is buying a stock and either holding it for several years to collect dividends and growth, or simply buy a stock and when it hits like 10-15-30% growth sell it again as a limit order. and as someone who used questrade the 5 dollar buy and 5 dollar sells on any stock add up FAST so wealthsimple free on canadian stocks is a huge bonus in both the short term and long term savings.

Don't do it. People only show you their profits but not losses. It'll take years before you're consistently profitable. You can make money, but you're also going to lose a lot of money. Just save. Trust me, its a much better method
Wealthsimple or Questrade are brokers... You buy company/stocks,ETF or Mutual Funds through them. They are secured/insured by CPIF. No you don't loose your money
Great video, well explained as always! What are your thoughts on QTrade Investor compared to QuestTrade? Would Qtrade Investor be more beneficial for young investors with no account minimums and no admin fees?
hm.. WS ask additional 0.5% interest. at the beginning, not much money get out of your account but later, lack of info, maybe 30years later, it will take a lot. $1m for mer% + $4000 extra get out of your account every year.
Amary Nicolau banks rip you off. Especially if you use their advisors who push their “amazing” mutual funds. Do a bit of homework and you’ll save a lot of rip off fees from banks by doing it yourself. A starting book I recommend is “Millionaire Teacher” by Andrew Hallam. Hope that helps!
Hi Brandon, thanks for making these lovely and informative videos. I wonder if you can recommend a low-cost online brokerage for expats (non-resident Canadian citizens). I would like to do my own investments thus happy to use an online brokerage, but am not keen to get caught in a weird tax situation or jeopardize my non-resident status. I know that pickings are slim but if you know of anything, or have any advise for someone in this position, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
I tried Wealthsimple and their platform is not user friendly and very difficult to link your certain bank accounts to. Wealthsimple trade is even more difficult to use. I had a terrible experience trying to get help with their site. There was no way to deposit any TFSA money or RRSP money. Forget it. Weathsimple is too difficult to use and their customer service is severely lacking. Last bad thing is that it takes up to 5 weeks for your money to be transferred from your bank to Wealthsimple. So if you are wanting to move cash into an investment account...you may end up buying in at the wrong time. That's brutal!!
That's just not true, I think it's the most intuitive platform out there, took me 10 mins to set up and my funds were transferred in 2 business days. Also I can switch my risk tolerance from a scale of 1 to 10 any time I want
Great. That's good you had no issues but I sure did and gave up on them and their complete lack of response to my concerns I sent through emails. Buying stocks through Questrade was much easier and I have much better support plus it costs much less in fees.

Would you be able to point me in a direction where I can chose a broker that has a minimum investment to start up and also one that I can use copy trade to conduct trade initial and learn as I go.
Knowing that you are extremely busy with other issue, however I do hope you or one of your subscriber will be able to assist or point me in the right direction to allow myself and my family to begin our trading journey.
Thank you in advance.
Don't do it. People only show you their profits but not losses. It'll take years before you're consistently profitable. You can make money, but you're also going to lose a lot of money. Just save. Trust me, its a much better method
if the company (wealthsimple or questrade) goes down, do i lose all my money? Thats just what confuses me...
Wealthsimple or Questrade are brokers... You buy company/stocks,ETF or Mutual Funds through them. They are secured/insured by CPIF. No you don't loose your money
Daughter tried to get her free stocks for new Trade account following a referral, but she was denied. This is a scam.
Could someone tell me the best platform for active option trader? I know Thinkorswim is the best but I can't open TD Direct Investing Account!
thanks
Nail Khismatullin Thinkorswim is the best if you have $5,000 min to open an account
Great vid! Very clear and professional. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍
Thank you for the time and effort. Excellent video
Hi, a quick question: Are these two platforms only for Canadians?
Wealthsimple is for sure. Not sure about quest trade.
TfSA is avliable for wealthsimple trade
sorry I'm confused, do you pay a commission when you sell your stock as well?
Great video, well explained as always! What are your thoughts on QTrade Investor compared to QuestTrade? Would Qtrade Investor be more beneficial for young investors with no account minimums and no admin fees?
To be honest with you John... I’d have to take a oook into QTrade. I haven’t every actually seen the platform LOL 😂
Thanks
Is wealthsimple trade safe and your money is insured ?
Will Questrade ever introduce the DRIP function to its platform? Is that in the pipes or off the table?
questrade-support.secure.force.com/mylearning/view/h/Investing/DRIP-Dividend+Reinvestment+plan. 👍🏻👍🏻
Please make an update video to this
thank you :)
Considering Questrade but their reviews online are absolutely horrific and its giving me cold feet. Can you speak to this at all?
Wish I knew his net worth because some people just give all this advice but we really don’t know how successful they really are
Thanks for the video. Very informative.
Hey man quick question ! Is the fee per month? or per year?
Abhiraj Wealth Simple is per year
hm.. WS ask additional 0.5% interest. at the beginning, not much money get out of your account but later, lack of info, maybe 30years later, it will take a lot. $1m for mer% + $4000 extra get out of your account every year.
Thanks, that was really helpful!
What is the main difference between these brokers and traditional banks?
Amary Nicolau banks rip you off. Especially if you use their advisors who push their “amazing” mutual funds. Do a bit of homework and you’ll save a lot of rip off fees from banks by doing it yourself. A starting book I recommend is “Millionaire Teacher” by Andrew Hallam. Hope that helps!
thanks for sharing!!!
Anyone who can share a referral link?
Thanks!
Great Video man!!! Keep up the hard work
totally off topic but what’s your background?
Hi Brandon, thanks for making these lovely and informative videos. I wonder if you can recommend a low-cost online brokerage for expats (non-resident Canadian citizens). I would like to do my own investments thus happy to use an online brokerage, but am not keen to get caught in a weird tax situation or jeopardize my non-resident status. I know that pickings are slim but if you know of anything, or have any advise for someone in this position, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
Can I have both? I like the benefits of each and would like to open one of each and use them for different things
So basically, if you do multiple trades per month, you would be better off with Wealthsimple.
Your videos is old . Now you can do TFSA ,etc in wealth simple trade.
Always look forward to the vids, great info!
Thanks man!
How safe is your money in wealthsimple?
100% safe, it started 2014, has more than 175,000 clients and over $5 billion in assets under management.
