Not every project can be merged with some kind of economic benefit sufficient to provide a return, since the benefits aren’t in the value form that can be integrated into the financial system. Ocean conferences in the middle of this past year have explored some very interesting carbon projects and carbon trading formats to maximise SDG benefits. Article 6 needs to be operational ASAP as that uncertainty is a big source of financing risk.

While indeed it can have negative impact on the environment, there is also huge potential for regeneration and carbon sequestration if done well.
