This is my favorite song in the series. It frustrates how many people seem to miss the point, and say that Husker is victim blaming Angel. That is clearly not what the song is about.
Hopefully I got it right 😅
@@whatitdodave You always do!
Wait what? I have yet to watch hazbin hotel (not pilot ones) but how is it possible to miss interpret song that repeats its messege "you are just like me" and "maybe if we stick together life will be better"
@@ragnaros7889Some people are just... stupid
To be fair, that does seem to be a vocal minority of tone-deaf people that can't see nuance if it runs them over on a race track.
Most of the sentiment I've seen has been picking up the context just fine.
The series does it throughout, but the body language of the animation is great too.
For the first part of the song, Husk always keeps a little distance between himself and Angel, even when they dance. He offers his hand and waits for Angel to take it. Only once Angel starts singing along does Husk lean in.
This is Gallows Humor Sympathy. "Yeah, this shit is effed up. You aren't alone though. I know exactly what you are going through."
This is the first moment that I ever really understood why people shipped Angel and Husk. There's something at least a little romantic about "yeah our lives suck, but together maybe they won't be so bad". Great reaction, great song, great time all around.
Same. I never really got it before, but after this episode I really hope they end up canon.
Also, the way Angel sort of smiles and stares at Husk in the last episode before the final fight. That right there is a lovestruck expression.
It's not just Husk telling it as it is, he is also deliberately riling him up to get him out of the self-pity he was in before, that's why he calls him "whiny bitch". Much easier to get him out of his funk eith anger first and then cheer him up
my fav part of the entire series is that the songs actually occur in-universe, thinking about that makes a lot of the situations more comical, especially any kind of 'fight song 'like "out for love." cuz now you know that those involved in this moment of intense emotional and physical stress are singing and dancing. frickin hilarious.
I do love how it's not the typical "cheer up. things will get better." and instead goes the direction of "you think your life sucks? guess what, you're right. but so does everyone else's here" while also sending a message of "i don't care who you are, just be true to yourself". At least that's how interpret it.
I love that this song is actually super empathetic and supportive, the answer to "is this supposed to make me feel better" is yeah, it's a bit of bitter medicine but it's very effective
It's just amazing how Keith David can sing and have a low voice doing it, i feel like the point of the song truly means to be who you are and know ur not alone and not let anyone put you down for being who you are
God. Keith David has an amazing singing voice.
I really like the way they voiced the loansharks, it's less exaggerated than in Helluva Boss
I really love the little dance number Husk does, especially when Angel and Husk are dancing together. Sometimes you need someone who builds you up by giving you a real reality check, yeah life can suck but it can suck less if you find the right people to surround yourself with.
Say goodbye to the love songs that puts the other person on a pedestal
I love how husk says pretty much be who you are and be proud. Life sucks and we both made mistakes, but you aren't alone.
"You suck, I suck, we can suck together" 🥰
Angel Dust: Kiiinkyyyy!
Val: Well this just got interesting... :D
"Wait-"
Wait-💀
So happy about your honesty/transparency with seeing it before
I try to be as genuine in my reactions as possible!
And people got mad at this song. Good song and a good message.
Oh god, what were thses glass people whinig about?
Really?? What’s there to be mad about??☠️
There's a bunch of people who miss the point entirely and claim that Husker is victim shaming/blaming Angel. It's completely nuts.
What?! This song is a bop. "Power bottom at rock bottom" is my favorite line. *Plays on loop*
Yeah people that get mad at this song must be fragile with no difficulties in life, I'm disabled in a wheelchair and this song always pops into my head when I'm struggling with something to do with my condition!
Its a song that says...Hey, you are messed up. But so am I. You're not alone, so stop blaming yourself and allow some hope for your future.
This song is so good , 10/10. Next you should check out stayed gone
Thanks to this show, well the animation company at least, I've been more open. Dude the lessons hit hard, the music harder, the lessons, idek if they got the scratch test prepped for them cuz ain't nobody scratching that shit. It's beautiful.
And yes, the double Down (auto to doun?) is intentional lol 😊
this song means so much to me & a lot of my loved friends/family :') its really cool to have a song that captures that bond you have with others who have been through hell and still want to try to live better and happier lives together. I think of it now whenever I make a new connection where we can share our own corner of the shit-pile with each other and feel a bit less alone. We may not understand the exact struggle of each other, but you understand struggling in that thick muck and its really really helpful to healing when you have people to relate to in those darker things that truthfully MOST people don't want to talk about or acknowledge is real.
When you grow up in family drugs or abuse or grow into those things too, its common to stop telling people stories as you realize they make people uncomfortable or your "funny" story is just sad to them. So having these kinds of bonds is just really special and i LOVE that we have a song so clearly for that now
Husk knows The Secret: You can't get someone to listen to you if you don't validate them first. Angel's life SUCKS, and any attempt to skip past acknowledging "Yeah, you're right" is going to be met with "Nothing you said is relevant because you're ignorant to my circumstances".
So first, "Yeah, you're right".
Second, "... Me, too. I have fucked up pretty bad"
Third, "I'm not judging you for this."
Fourth, "SOLIDARITY, MY MAN!"
Fifth and final, "If we stand together, we have a road for hope and self forgiveness; this doesn't have to be permanent".
This song is an entire counseling session.
Found you through Hazbin Hotel, and im definitely staying. Love your calm vibe you give off and you actually analyze what your watching whilst enjoying it, good stuff mate!
Love this so much. Loser baby is ny fave song in Hazbin and Angel and Husk's friendship is so amazing.
I think that one of the best songs, if anything, the best song of that whole show maybe
An incredibly wholesome song. I listen to it once a day.
Wow I just finished binge-watching this show yesterday! Funny to see you do a reaction for it right now hah! And also glad you did, coz wow was I just astonished by how good this whole show is! This song for sure being in my top 3!
Voiceplay just released their new video.... Sleeping In The Cold.
It is literally out of this world fantastic.
"there he is! and they're Fuckin Singin!?"
Can't believe that was actually Keith David. I knew him as Goliath from Disney's Gargoyles and then HBO series Spawn
Absolutely love this song! You just cant lose with it! Lol and hey awesome job here, dude
I can't wait to see your reaction to Colms version of this it's nutz
If no one’s said it the reason all these songs are bangers is cuz The Living Tombstone helped make them or they’re all made by them😂
6:23 bros like they're fuckin singin 😂😂😂😂😂
I don't know anything about "Hazbin Hotel" but I've heard several covers of this song and the message seems to me to be "we've all messed up; you're not the only one; accept it and get on with it." Enjoyed your reaction, Dave, especially when you cracked up at the end 😆
Of the covers I've heard my favourite has to be Caleb Hyles with Jonathan Young. (Caleb has labelled it a metal version but I disagree with that label!) They've adapted the wording somewhat as Caleb is a bit reticent, shall we say, about the use of certain swear words on his channel, even though he doesn't have a problem with it on other people's. Having now heard this original I think Jon's deep, bluesy/jazzy tone is perfect as Husk and Caleb's higher tenor suits Angel. Would be good to see you react to that. ☺
This was the song that proved to me that Husker was one cool cat. 😎
THANK YOU FOR REACTING TO THIS ONE ITS ONE OF MY FAVORITES 😁😁
My favorite song
Yeah! Hopefully the reactions don’t get copyright striked
They do. But Amazon has been nice and kind enough to remove them when I appeal them. 💪🏽
@@whatitdodave that’s good to hear, can’t wait for the rest of the reactions. Keep up the awesome work!!
Pls do "stayed gone" or "hells greatest dad" next
Best song in the show no diff
I will admit this was not my favorite song when I first heard it, I just didn't get the hype, but after a couple times this definitely became on of my favorites.
Im still waiting the last episode of Helluva Boss and if youve seen this series already, i hope you made reactions to all of them :c
if you replace Husker with Spawn, this song seems unnatural (Keith voices them both)
Always good bro keep it up
❤
Your reactions are great, but it kinda hard to hear your voice when the video you're reacting to is louder then you
finally im second
"THEY'RE FUCKING SINGING!!!"
I also had to listen to it a couple of times before i started to like the song, but now i love it.
