You have to love this guy's work ethic. He mows lawns, fixes cars, goes to car auctions and makes videos all at the same time.

Love the SSR, make it right and maintain this beauty. They don't these anymore, so seeing one with a caretaker like you is wonderful!

This is just an excellent series on this yellow car. It is such an odd ball. In hind sight such a beautiful design. Especially underneath you can see it is made for racing.

I've bought cars with the entire accessory drive bad from sitting with 89.k on the clock. Alt, power steering, water pump & idlers. No worries Randy, U got this 🎬🚘🔥👍

Water pump is obviously shot and tensioner/idler are relatively cheap parts, and making enough noise that I personally would do all 3. Surprised the dealer didn't figure it out. Their loss your gain.

Just do the everything on the SSR. You know that water pump is gonna fail. Surprised it hasn't already. BTW, John Ross has the Escalade you're looking for. DOD mechanically deleted engine. He's finishing it up... You know he won't keep it.

ACV, good for aquiring cars to flip at live auctions, it's amazing how many dealers haven't caught on to that yet.

I'd love to see you make it down to Evansville, IN for the Frog Follies, largest gathering of pre 1949 vehicles with the 40. Would also be a great place to sell it! It's only about 1.5-2 hours down highway 41 from Terre Haute.

  • @Larommi

Water pump...when you spun it, there was a clean and rusty spot on the pully so it was definitely bent or off center...probably slapped the belt or made the belt slap

Good call on replacing all of the accessory pullies. Thought my dad's safari (astro) had a bad AC compressor (refrigerant leaked out ages ago), but one of the pullies was so shot it sounded like an empty power steering pump! Got both the tensioner and idler pullies at O'Reilly for not much $.
As for the plug wires, bet they're easy to get at once you pull the engine cover- assuming the coils are on the valve covers.

Bring your street rod to the Frog Follies in Evansville, IN. It’s the last weekend in August. About 3,000 cars show up for this event along with a ton of vendors. There is also a big meet in Louisville, KY at the fair grounds in mid august. That meet pulls in over 5,000 cars.

Personally, if I had to keep a car for a year for power tour, I'd keep the 40 Chevy. But I get it, $30,000 can fund at least 3 other car builds/flips.

Hey Randy, I just watched your video for this morning on your access are the yellow one I think it’s the idler pulley too, but you might as well change all all of it except for the motor and I know it’s expensive thing to do but I think you need to change as much as you can on it see what happens I really enjoy your videos like I said before keep the videos coming I watch them every time you have one out no matter if it’s this kind of video or Cole Park, video or any of the other videos that you have a even watch the the electric bakery office that you have out, so you do an awesome job. I watch you every day even though I haven’t met you in person I think of you is a part of my family. I’ll talk to you later man.
