This is Part 1 from my Meghalaya series where I reached Shillong on the day 1 of the trip along with my friend Ankit Bhatia.

Shillong is a hill station in northeast India and capital of the state of Meghalaya. It’s known for the manicured gardens at Lady Hydari Park. Nearby, Ward’s Lake is surrounded by walking trails. North, the Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures features displays on the region’s native people. Waterfalls include the Elephant Falls to the southwest. East of here, forested Shillong Peak offers city views.

The city I love the most in this big world is Shillong , I am Mizo but I like and miss Shillong a thousand times better than Aizawl, I love it even more than my homeplace . Khasi , Garo and Jaintia people are like my brother not just a friend , I love them more than I can say . Their hospitality and goodness during the three years I stayed there will be remembered and treasured the rest of my life .

@@sumayyausf5458 Avoid Monsoons. July and August are heavy rainfall period. Best is winters or summers till May. But this year, again it's lockdown in Meghalaya with strict Covid protocols.

Shillong is truely bless with the perfect weather. It's neither cold nor hot, it's surely not humid. It's just a chef's kiss of perfection. Especially when it's sunny and gentle wind blowing as you walk the streets of this beautiful city. I will never forget how it feels🥰

I studied in Shillong for just 1 year (was supposed to study for 3 years tho). It's been a year I've left Shillong and I'm still not over it. No matter how long you live in Shillong it takes so so so long for you to come over the place. The people of Meghalaya, the weather, everything is so perfect there. ❤

I absolutely loved your 5 part series of Meghalaya. I'm from Shillong too and due to this pandemic we are unable to travel or visit any of these places. My heart longs to travel to all these places again. It makes me realise just how lucky we are and how we take so many things for granted. That's the stereo typical thinking that people outside of Northeast believe but it's not like that actually people from Northeast are really welcoming and yes there are rural areas but not entirely we have developed places aswell

Shillong is the best hill station in North east I visited Police bazar whenever I visit Ward ''S lake but couldn't visit Cherrapunji. Barapani is awesome. Seeing the scenery sitting on a higher place mind is refreshed. Camelia is grown abundantly which is one of favourite flower. Bara bazar was visited 3/4 times. Golf field also so Butiful took photos at the field. Houses r so cute so clean city good climate. good people.
