- Walking tour in the village of Le Ressouvenir, East Coast, Guyana which is located on the East Coast of Demerara about 12 km from the capital city of Georgetown, Guyana. Le Ressouvenir is situated nearby to Felicity, and close to Success.
Guyana, a country on South America’s North Atlantic coast, is defined by its dense rainforest. English-speaking, with cricket and calypso music, it's culturally connected to the Caribbean region. Its capital, Georgetown, is known for British colonial architecture, including tall, painted-timber St. George’s Anglican Cathedral. A large clock marks the facade of Stabroek Market, a source of local produce.

Le ReSouvenir used to have houses n populated as a smaller section. That was to the South of the public road only. Going south.and only upto half way of that village land space. The back Half was open pasture. That was upto the end of the 80's. All through the years of the PNC Govt
Our father worked for PWD, before immigrating to the USA. On one of his earliest trips back home, when he was considering returning for partial retirement and also being of service to the country, he found that the politics and mindsets of natives had not changed sufficiently to encourage him making the change.
Unfortunately, Guyanese need to change their mindsets, set aside their lofty ideas and pitch in to share in the changes needed for their country to grow. It's going to take a lot of "elbow grease," "getting down and dirty"and enjoying the "fruits of their labour",and not waiting for strangers to come in and do it for them.
Guyana is a beautiful country. It still has many resources left in it to develop. It needs to have Guyanese who have left home to COME BACK HOME, with the experience they've gained from wherever they migrated to, and build back their homes!!!
