I got these in the 2 pack pouch. I would have got the 4 pack (all sold out now) had I known they were going to be so comfortable to wear. I love this formula.
Thank you for presenting this new lipsticks. I bought two: délicate and lumineuse. So beautiful! Easy to glide on my dry winter lips. Hydrating. I love the formula. Not smudging. Decent shine.
For me, this is the worst lipstick I’ve tried in a very long time - my advice is to just get one shade to see if you like the formula before getting more. They highlight lines and dryness a LOT. The lighter shades are so pale, zero pigment. They feel silicony almost greasy, they last maybe an hour but if you top up you get a crusty mess. So disappointed
Same here! I am so frustrated and disappointed. After 2 hours of wear my lips were chapped and I developed little bumps on my lips. I have shades delicate and lumineuse. Angela from French for a day commented she had the same experience. She mentioned the red shade was good and the browns felt drying. I wonder if some batches are just bad.
Wonderful review and swatching. My SA sent me a photo of the cute little case as she was unpacking her shipment. I didn’t even ask what was in it. I just said “I’ll take it!”😂. I was absolutely delighted with both of the colors and the formula. I did not notice any lines showing through and I’m 60. 💄
Thank you for the dedication comparisons and swatches! I def want the hot pink one! I always use a lip balm before applying lipstick so I think I’ll be ok with the formula
I purchased the Les Perles Pouch so it came with two lipsticks the mauve and a red. I didn’t find them drying but I do apply lip balm prior while doing my makeup. I just think they are ok. The shades are dark not what I usually wear. I don’t think I need to purchase anymore I really just wanted the pouch 😆. Thank you for the many swatches & your review! I hope you & your family are feeling better! 😊🌺
Thank you for the great review! I bought the pouch with two lipsticks❤ . The colors are perfect for me . They also make a beautiful color when layered . I find them very comfortable not at all drying on my lips . After watching you swatch them I might have to pick up one more color!
Wow, these swatches are so accurate!! I’ve bought 458, 459 and 449 from this launch. On my lips, they are very moisturizing, although for reference, Rouge Coco Balms feel waxy and drying on my lips. I agree that 459 Lumineuse is the best in terms of shades… It’s such a lovely, absolutely not boring mauve nude, but they are ALL very flattering. That was surpsing to me, I’m a fair olive NC10 and it’s usually a bit of a pain to buy a new lipstick😆 Unless you layer them intensively, they are rather sheer, and yes, they are pretty silicone-y, but I've found that they also provide a nice protection from winter wind. On my lips, the pigment disperses evenly, but I do prep with a lip balm and then wipe it. For longevity, I’ve noticed that 449 Sophistique is the most long lasting, and it also wears off nicely, although they all do... This 449 shade is so versatile - very appropriate for day wear, but if you layer it, it’s a gorgeous muted deep red for a night out.
I saw that you mentioned you are Light with an Olive undertone. I know exactly what you mean about buying new lipstick colors. There are so many colors that look lovely and are supposed to be universally flattering but look terrible on me. Most brights look really bad. Finding flattering lipstick and blush shades is really a challenge.
@@DeborahCarlston Thank you, Deborah - I feel so heard!! Yes, those so called universally flattering shades are challenging... When everyone is raving about them, I'm usually just wondering what is wrong with me😄 I never had luck with universal blush or lipstick, ever! And yes, almost all brights are usually a pain too!
@@mashkin85 We are clearly in the minority in the makeup world. I wondered what was wrong with me for years because I had trouble with shade ranges for everything, including skin tints and foundations. I think Lisa Eldridge was the first and only person I heard mention light skin tones with olive undertones and a light bulb went off. Still her olive undertone shades are too deep for me. I stick to sheer neutrals in the foundation area. But we fair, olive toned women need to stick together. I have high hopes for Lumineuse. If I like the formula I'll come back for more. At least you've listed two more shades that look pretty on you and could work for the rest of us. Thanks.
How does this formula compare to the black and white “party hour” lipsticks from last year? That formula was so thin and dry and non existent on my lips. I remember the old rouge allure velvets as being thicker and grippier? Anyway, hated last years 😅
Lexi, you do such great comparison swatches. I have really dry lips, and I’m waiting for my next delivery of The Adults are Talking Lip Balm. I’ve been wearing TF Casablanca on top. If I purchase anything, it’ll be Elegance. Beautiful. Thanks for this extensive video! Hope everyone in the family is feeling better! ❤
Ki Lexi, I was able to pickup the Les Perles Pouch with the shades 458 & 459. Lunineuse is my favorite. I love the pouch. I don't love that Chanel made the pouch in very limited quantities. I wish I could have picked up more colors. If they are still available in February I might pick another one up. Thank you for the review!
These shades are pretty! I really like Sophistiquee and Lumineuse. (I love 3:00 from the white case time series. I wish I’d gotten 6:00 too, but now with Lumineuse I have a chance at something similar-ish)
Hi Lexi! Thank you for showing casing these. I had jumped the gun and bought these before seeing any reviews and ordered all the deep shades, the red and the pink nude one. I had to return the deepest shade since it was gathering and not spreading very well at all whereas the slightly lighter ones were fine. Glad to hear it wasn’t just on me 👍🏻 I love the formula though, very easy to wear! Beautiful colors ❤
Just starting to watch now! Was holding off buying these bcoz I heard some other reviews saying they were extremely drying (specially the "brown" colors, which is what I was leaning towards)
Thanks for watching! If you are able to try them out before buying, definitely check that out. I think the dryness will depend on individual lip chemistry. They are not drying on me but that is something that definitely can vary from person to person.
Every time you swatch Sugar Glider, I feel your pain. I never knew about that lipstick until you started talking about it. It's the mauve of my dreams. That said, Lumineuse is very pretty. I like Sophistique too. I have 4:00 and 6:00 and I love the colors, but the Perles look a bit more every day wearable. That said, it seems the Perles grab onto dry spots on your lips the same way the Nuit Blanche ones do. And I rarely wear them for that reason. These mattes are a bit drying, so you add a problem on top of a problem. They don't migrate though. I think I'll try Lumineuse first, and go from there. It's a great every day color. I just need to remember to use Cerave Ointment as a lip masque every night, and it should be fine. Thanks for the video!💚
I keep hoping they bring sugar glider out or someone makes a similar shade. Mine's getting low so I try not to wear it too much. Thanks for watching Deborah!
@@LexiJong Lexi, even if I didn't like you personally, which I do, I would watch your videos. You review every brand that interests me, and you are the best with comparisons. Plus your lighting really showcases how each shade looks IRL. You are simply a fabulous resource.
Chanel just sent me a complimentary gift a white blanket with gold metallic logo embroidered on. It’s 100% cotton. It was a smart idea because I’m now wanting to make a purchase to say thank you. I was thinking lipstick. Not sure what to get.
That is so nice! Enjoy!! Keep in mind there will be plenty of things to buy this year so if these aren't calling your name, just wait or go with something in the permanent line.
By the way 👀are you getting the Suqqu spring release? I've seen a couple people do a review and it looks very pretty! Nothing revolutionary but I thought all the colour choices looked much nicer than in the promo
I plan on it! They are sending me a blush, eyeshadow, and lipstick but I don't believe it has shipped yet. I also placed an order for a bunch of the lipsticks.
I hope you and your family are feeling better.❤ About these lipsticks - they are THE WORST formula that I have ever tried! I never expected such a fail from Chanel. They feel so drying, emphasize lip lines. Horrible formula.
Not easy to understand the texture 🤔but it sounds very similar to a lot of Korean lipstick formulas. Probably not an accident. They have a number of sheer matte lipstick formulas due to people really liking the many liquid lip tints which are usually sheered out or blotted. These kind of lipsticks give you the same look and finish. I like the colours!!!
I have three shades and they are worst formula in my opinion. 30 min after wearing and I can see all of my lip lines. So unflattering. I will try to return mine. Try before you buy. They are nothing like the Korean formula in my opinion.
I bought "naturelle" its pretty in my opinion...not my fave formula as you need to build up.. Box also states nothing of "les perles " just allure velvet so i thought at first i got a wrong one..wont order more
I have several older Velvet lipsticks, but I don't like them so much now. Like others have said, I noticed the silicone more and more over time, it kinda grosses me out. Both the Chanel Velvets and the Lisa Eldridge Velvets, I have gone off these silicone lippies. I want oils and plant waxes lipstick.
