For what it's worth, notifications didn't work, but if you use the same sim trick to get to the lock screen and notifcation, swipe left or right to access the notification icons, select settings. I had to do a random combo of buttons and repeatadly turning the notification for the Setup screen on and off several times before samsung pay swipe showed up. Then I swiped up, logged in, opened the swipe menu in samsung pay, clicked the account icon, then 3 dots, about samsung account, then update which takes you to the galaxy store which allows you to do the rest.
