I love my SMKW exclusive Crossroads. Its the first SMKW Case exclusive I've been able to get my hands EVER! And I love the new nail-nick on this case sod buster. In fact, I prefer it to the regular one. Its VERY EASY to pull out the blade with the new nail nick.
Need to get the Crossroads Soddy. Also like that Winterbottom on the Queens. An Spyderco Roadie XL is also a Keeper. Heck! So many knives, I can't comment on all of them. Not a bad knife in the bunch!
I got my crossroads sod buster jr today! I was able to center the blade using the T6 hardware. Of course no 2 Case knives are exacty the same, but this one won't be taking the place of my jigged bone soddys anytime soon. The traditional style just has more character. 🤷
No school like the old school but you gotta carry this one to to get that, "what is that? I never seen that! That one is cool" Reactions from friends and family lol
Accidentally bought the case CX sod buster in orange liners 😂 the one I wanted sold out immediately. Oh well gotta get another case when it shows back up
Be warned that the blade quality is not as good as it once was. My buddy bought one and the blade had burrs all the way up and down. I bought both of the smoky Mountain Christmas exclusive trappers by Case and both had burrs the whole way up and down. One of them I barely could even open It had so much junk and gunk inside the pivot.
@@BubbasEDC I never owned a case before, bought this knive, and you are exactly right, it does have burrs, going to strop the *** out of it to see if it helps
@@ratherbyexploring4898 olde case knives are the way to go. Yes some are more expensive. But the quality is astronomically better. Pawn shops, antique stores, flea markets and estate sales are the way to go.
Thought we did but in case we didn't Hey everybody the Spyderco Military 2 Carbon Fiber CPM S90V has a compression lock and it is one of our favorite lock types!
My m398 mule was ran at 60.2, I would assume that they are running them with the same protocol and targeting 60. If they are running the same protocol on the M398 mule as they are the roadie you can expect really good performance. I have some custom done m398 from triangle tools that tested a tick over 62 and in day to day use I can't tell them apart but in fixed media cut testing the triangle tools m398 out cuts the mule by about 20%. It's a damn fine performing steel, I like it nearly as much as s90v and I really love s90v. It's a little fussy when sharpening but not to bad, just takes a little more finesse and with the right touch it sharpens up beautifully. I wish they was targeting 62 as there is a decent performance advantage at that hardness during cut testing. I don't think most people would be able to tell a difference during day to day use where you are cutting different medias throughout the day so it's not much of a difference but it is there. The place where I find the biggest difference at would be in strop responsiveness, the m398 at 62 strops back way more times in between sharpenings than the m398 at 60. Ide say you get close to twice as many strop backs in between sharpenings with the m398 ran at 62. The mule strops back nicely but will start to get that sharp but slickish edge feel after maybe 8 to 10 strop backs as where the harder m398 will strop back a huge amount of times while keeping some bite and not slicking off. It's a really good steel if you have never played with it, just keep it on the courser side of 600 grit (like 240 to 320 grit) and don't over strop it and you will be happy with the performance.
Hate to say ,I normally would have purchased most of the knives in this lineup but price for what you get is way off balance. It's not just or only you but the whole industry and soon others will think like me , I like what I have so I will work on my sharpening. Sorry guys.
Don't like the hole in the blade or the etched tang. Will never buy etched tanged knives. Bear and son us the worst choice to make Queen knives. They have soft snap and Queen was the king of snap. Syderco roadie is ugly.
Lol what?!? "nobody does a 90 degree spine like LT Wright does".. Im pretty sure 90 is 90. If a 90 degree spine isnt as good as other 0- degree spines, welp, then theyre 89 degrees or maybe 91?

Are there going to be anymore of the Kizer SMKW fantasy/comic exclusives?
There are more things in the works but the bosses never tell the media department secrets. Like we would go and tell the whole interwebs or something

The Spyderco military in s90 v and carbon handle , will remain only a looker.
M390 and m398 are NOT very similar in composition nor properties. They are very very different steels.
