I stumbled upon this while updating my Video drivers. I didn't know they made a remake again, Thanks for doing this. I remember my sister and I playing this on her 3DO... long ago. Looks gorgeous . I remember having papers all over the place with clues written down. lol. Took us forever. Thanks for doing this. Def going to grab it. I do agree,I miss the actors ( Rand and Robyn Miller)

I was excited to play this game now that I have it on Xbox. I haven't played this game since 1993.
Such a great series, there's none like it! Great choice to play this. I wouldn't be surprised if someday God has us shaping other worlds like Atrus...

I still wish they would make a definitive 3D version that just looks 99.9% like the original, expect 3D.
The original 2D Myst had this very surrealistic quality because the water looked more like a metallic liquid and everything was more metallic and uncanny looking.

2:10:24 Remember, D'ni lifespans are longer than ours. Atrus is is half human, half D'ni. Atrus and his sons could have built a lot. Also Atrus and Catherine could write 'minor' things into and Age.
I played this in its entirety yesterday. I was blown away by the improved graphics. I remember playing the original 1993 game when I was younger, and following that, I played every Myst game and read all the books. The only thing I didn't like were the character animations. I liked that you could change out the new animations with the original FMV, but I found it distracting that Atrus at the end was completely 3D even though I used the classic FMV version of the game. I didn't feel that they looked as good as the landscapes and structures did. Perhaps if the character models were more textured and moved more realistically, I wouldn't have disliked them so much. As they were, they stood out like an eyesore to me. Luckily, the vast majority of the time you're alone.

Someone should throw those 3d models of Atrus and his sons in the prison age! I can't believe Cyan Worlds was ok with that. They should have kept all the original audio, hire an actor so you can get 3d shots, and deepfake Rand Miller's face on top for the finished product for him and his sons, he did play the original characters anyway.
especially in this age where metahuman exists in Unreal Engine which basically looks photorealistic
I never actually figured out the underground tram puzzle... I just got lucky out of brute force. Say, do you remember that time agent game? Going for puzzles in different eras? That was good too.
Talking about The Journeyman Project series? I actually played the first one and started the second one on my own not long ago... perhaps I'll stream them at some point...

Nice! Yeah, I remember playing a demo of the third one as a kid and having no way to get a hold of the whole thing! Looking forward to eventually actually playing it in the context of the whole trilogy now that I found them on GOG.

Aha. You probably entered too much power and need to reset it. If you follow the wires outside, you'll find how to do that. You need to enter just the right amount without going over or it trips the fuse.
LOVE this one but I don't think it will play on my PC as I only have a 730 series video card..ALSO read the put the old video people back in due to complaints...lol
Two things: (1) In every single video about Myst from dozens of aficionados the audio level for the presenter has always been normal and the audio level of the game barely audible; (2) The picture on Mechanical 21:51 is a famous picture in the Louvre of Paris of Napoleon in a fancy coat holding a sceptre except this one has the face of Achenar. However, you did know this from your Art Appreciation class in high school days, right?

Downloaded on an Apple Mac. How does one go backwards? I know that “W” is to go forward. Is it possible to just use the mouse to go forwards and backwards? Thanks!!
I don't know that this new version has total mouse control. But forward, backwards, left, and right are controlled with WASD, so S is backward.
The simulater- it won't let me move the left knob up or down to rotate to N,E,S, or West. And when I press the button to make the stairs go down . The knob down there won't move either . They appear to work fine on your video.
But I am on Xbox one, I don't what else I would be missing. "And yes I've exhausted every button on the controller but the knob simply won't move 🤷"
I've watched some people live stream with console, and it seems some of the buttons etc. are a bit glitchy for them. Hopefully it gets patched soon 😬
Hold RT and move the left analog stick.
Some of the levers slide so it’s like you hold the lever and slide it versus pressing the lever.
They got rid off that iconic sound in the fireplace panel?!

I loved the day/night cycle. Gave you a new perspective on things in the night. I hate thy animated the characters. They look awful. I wish they had kept the original pictures/actors.
There was almost immediately a fan made mod that added the original videos back. It's been officially added as an option now.

Selenetic was hard to do without original puzzle (not randomized), bad walkthrough to use randomized puzzles.
You mean the sound dishes or the ship? I found the puzzle to be pretty much the same outside of the sound order at the end... and I think the ship was the same as classic.

Yeah, the game was also a little quieter than I'd hoped as well. It's tough with a live stream, which is why I titled it as one. With an upload, I wouldn't have needed to answer questions or comments coming in while playing.
My God.....The new Cartoons and voices for Sirrus and Achenar and Atrus are HORRIFYING. What an unacceptable way to completely destroy the experience. How could u call it "cool". You gotta be kidding me. Thank God I watched your video, I was about to purchase this abomination. The new color palette is totally colorless and unMystlike as well. I feel like my childhood has been raped.
