Indeed, Very well said!!!! I just want to share my own understanding. Pluto is a planet but nothing like the 8 Planets we know. Pluto is known as a dwarf Planet. Why is it not considered as a planet in the Solar System? The Solar System has 8 planets and is divided into 2 groups, Terrestrial Planets which compose of the first four Planet, Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars; and, Jovian Planets. Jovian Planets is then again divided into two, which is the Gas Giants- Jupiter and Saturn, and Ice Giants- Uranus and Neptune. The reason why it is not included as the planet in the Solar is because, it belong in the Icy Kupeir Belt. To give a more vast explanation, lets go back to the Terrestrial Planets. In the Terrestrial Planets, there is a belt which orbits around it called Asteroid Belt- a flat disc of rocky objects, full of remnants from the Solar System formation. So from that, from the microscopic dust particles, to the largest know objects, to the Dwarf Planet also known as "Ceres". In the Jovian Planets, orbiting around it is called the "Icy Kupeir Belt". The Kupeir Belt is also known to be the home of "dwarf planet/s" such as Pluto, and it is the Birthplace of many comets.

well according to alan stern (lead new horizon) planet can never be completely clear its orbital zone because gravitational and radioactive forces continually perturb the orbits of asteroids and comets into planet-crossing orbits therefore if you imagine all planet is considered is a dwarf because it flunks the last criteria or there is no planet because no planet can clears it neighborhood.
