Like the first time hearing van Halen, you never forget, I will never forget first time hearing this song, it by far my favorite, my band played it, kiss ass
WOW! That was awesome. I was a senior in high school when On Through The Night came out and was immediately hooked! This old Rock & Roll Metal Head LOVES hearing the early tunes played live! Keep 'em come'n!!! 🤘🤘
F’n LOVE it when they play their deep classics….now if they can only include “Me and My Wine” in their setlist for their stadium tour this year, my life would be complete ☺️
When you think how long they have been around, Def Leppard, still, is in very good shape live. Hat´s off ! Yes, I tend to listen their first three records only, because I like them, not the stuff after that, but for those three, Def Leppard will always be one of THE bands that get me into heavy music in the 80´s. Legends !
Loving everything about @defleppard ‘s sweet performance from #joeelliott’s #cool raspy voice to #ricksavage ‘s bass riffs to #viviancambell and #philcollen #beautiful guitar riffs to #rickallen awesome drums. @defleppard is phenomenal!!!! 💜💝♥️💖
Used to cover this when the first album came out when Steve and Pete were on guitar. Cool that they played this in their set. Raise a pint to these beloved old geezers still up and at it! God on ya!
@@dennisbrown7138 i saw him with 2 arms back in 1982 with Krokus opening for them. They rocked. He played stuff like he's never played since. He rocked that drum set like he's never done since.
"The skinny blonde always late" was the lyrical, musical and live genius of this band. Strapped low, his truly epic creme LP Custom, triple humbuckers + Kahler dazzled live - their gig in Denver Colorado arguably DL at their peak. As great as Viv is, and he 'is' a genuine great who imo plays Collen off a short break - Phil's 'shredding'I just loathe, but even Vivian has openly, humble said "90% of what we play Steve left us - I still cannot play GoW". Steven Maynard "The Riffmaster" Clark gifted Leppard an epic catalogue - along with Van Halen the only 2 bands to have 2 different records RIAC certified 'Diamond'. And the influence of Robert 'Mutt' Lange is incalculable -but it was "Steamin" who had it all.
Thank God l'm not the only one,who thinks Phil's playing has "always" been over the top. No need for it,he's a good player but he always comes over as being over the top. I've been a fan since H'n'D,saw Phil in "Girl"supporting ,UFO,78. Seems he likes the limelight??
@@CorpseGrinder1967 As I posted Steve was the lyrical and musical genius of the band and since he passed Leppard's music has had arguably only a few decent songs. Steve was the person who threatened to quit if "we don't get out of this bloody spoon factory". On all the records to 'Adrenalize' Steve's writing and musical brilliance was incalculable. Steve Brown of 'Trixter' filled sin for Collen a few times and he said the following about Steve's guitar creativity - "Steve's guitar parts are impossible to replicate - they were like small boxes of creativity". The iconic Ross Halfin, who was good friends with Steve and has taken 'the most' pictures of Steve live/set shots said that he knew Steve was a genuine rock star who oozed cool the moment he saw him around 1978/9. Phil was picked by Elliot - his 'shredding' is imo just so unnecessary - but Joe Satriani loves Collen's guitar style for some reason and Collen joined Vai/Satriani for a few appearances, so Satriani is no slouch, but I'd bet most DL fans loathe his 'shredding'. The other critical fact is since Viv has returned to his original love in Les Paul, he has no tremolo - so the entire set list has been altered sound wise. Take the iconic song "Photograph" - Steve always did the opening and ride out solo but Collen's done it now for years. Viv's so under-utilised imo. He cannot replicate Steve's loose hand and brilliance and Viv has said, humbly so he just still cannot nail several of Steve's songs - and to me Viv plays Collen off a short break. Look, Viv's been with Leppard longer than Steve, he 'was' arguably the best pick, Leppard are big on UK bands and NEVER would have got an LA/US guitarist - Viv, coming from the UK/Ireland was what Elliot was looking for, and I mean Viv in DIO was simply a beast.
Southern River Band from Australia playing at this venue in several weeks, go and see them if ur in vicinity, they ll leave u speechless and rocked out!
This is the Def Leppard we need back. They don't look uncomfortable playing this. Play more from the first two albums, please. Enough of the suburban rock mom set list.

So so much better at this kind of rock. It's how they started it's what got them noticed and I'm a massive fan of everything up to Adrenalize after that they completely lost it, Slang was average but just not Leppard. Euphoria was terrible literally not one good song. And X was the final nail in the coffin. No guitar solos and a complete pop album, I remember hearing X for the first time I nearly cried thinking how can they think this is progressive? It was awful. Thankfully they redeemed themselves with the last two albums, there not classic Leppard but they rock and have catchy foot tappers on there. But we'll always have the first two albums to rock out to.
@@Anonymous27376Youre wrong Pete had a band or two and has a successful real estate business. Doesnt matter who wrote the song, DL was a better band when they were a rock band with Pete in it.
I am in the United states. Im a huge fan of def leppard. You guys came into my life when adrenalize came out and slang. It changed my life forever! Love u guys!
Listen to Def Lep’s first two albums and Iron Maiden’s first two albums; very similar. Maiden brings in Bruce, Def Lep fires Pete Willis and brings in Phil Collen and those two bands took very different paths. Maiden went on to kick serious ass and Def Lep went basically pop-rock. Campbell’s talent is being wasted, no pun intended, in Def Lep.
I wish Def Leppard could write songs like this again.
They probably do. They just don't get on the record. Besides, they know what the general audience wants: "More sugar please...."
Ohhh man me too,
Hysteria was the last good album from them
testosterone too low, disposable income too high
Since Steve Clark (main songwriter) has been dead since 91 that is not going to happen.
Love the old stuff, High n dry my favorite album 🎧
