I remember Populous (I) from my cousin's Amiga 500 game collection. The format which I would later associate with Warcraft with regards to the perspective and strategy game system it has. I did have a try at it, but never really had enough time to dwelve too deeply into it. My cousin lived in another town and I only met with him one or two times a year, during my preteen years. The consept however did intrigue me, as someone who was always very much into religions and mythologies of the ancient cultures. Of course all that was more than a quarter of a century ago, so my memory is fading to say the least.

Almost getting metal marines flashbacks from this, but I'm guessing you don't get nuke shooting battle bots in this game.

oh god. that game was amazing. i played the everloving everything out of populous 1 on the amiga 500 and populous 2 was just more godlike in every way
