One of our favourite riverside walks. Avoid Dovedale on a sunny weekend, sometimes there’s a queue for the stepping stones. We went 8.30am mid week just a few people about.

It’s definitely a place to visit, we would recommend it. It does get very very busy - there is a large car park but we would recommend getting there early in the morning to avoid the crowds. There can even be queues to cross the stepping stones which are near the start of the walk (video) ! We hope you get to enjoy this place as much as we did. Thanks again for your comment.
It does look very beautiful here, it is on my list to visit at some point. Lovely listening to the sound of water and the birds. You did get a lovely weather day for it.
A bit of sunshine always helps doesn’t it Yasmin. We actually followed the river Dove over 3 days with circular walks. There’s lots of things to see along the way for example you will probably want to climb Thorpe Cloud, have a look in the caves and take photos of Dippers. 🤞

We know and love this stretch...you definitely beat the tourist crowds, our sort of walk, lovely!
It is a real honeypot. But we went mid week and set off early. So much better without the crowds, especially at the stepping stones. 🙂
