- I was browsing through some DCI videos today and I figured I would share my top 10 favorite moments with you guys! The videos will range from 2003-2013.. 10 years of amazing DCI shows!

Phantom's Juliet was profound. A brilliant and stirring rendition of a girl contemplating suicide over the loss of her love. The staging was transcendant. The dramatic action crystal clear. It's an example of breathtaking DCI staging at its finest.

Phantom regiments “Juliet” was just so beautiful. It is my favorite show ever. I can’t stop watching it.
Juliet has my favorite closer of all time. “Elsas Procession to the Cathedral” is perfect for DCI, and Phantom nailed it
The first one had me on the brink of crying.
Same I had chills for the whole thing just watching it on a video!

Definitely one of my favorites as well!
The final song for #10 was Elsa’s precession right. It was god damn beautiful to hear it in DCI.

As Mr.Leyda stated, this is HIS top 10. The shows that he chose were chosen not because they won first that year, but simpy because those are the shows and moments that has made an effect on him. The story of the show, the music with the drill and visuals, whatever made him choose his 10. It is HIS top 10, not anyone else's.
Jorge A this man just badly needs to look to the history of this activity, I feel it could really be an enjoyable experience for him.

2003 Phantom still gives me chills
Major props for including Harmonic Journey. That's the very show that inspired my obsession with DCI and eventually inspired me to learn mello and march with Boston in 2010

The Phantomettes make Elsa's just magical. Once of my single favorite moments in history.
I will never not like seeing 2003 Phantom at anytime, and that you finished with it just makes this video practically perfect. If I have one complaint, its that "I AM SPARTICUS" wasn't included, but I'll be OK.

PR 03 still my favorite closer of all time. The writers of the horn book that year nailed it. Glad you saved it for last!
You are getting a lot of hate mail for this list. I enjoyed Juliet, Harmonic Journey, Angels and Demons, E=MC2, and 15 Minutes of Fame. Also For The Common Good. Those are probably some of the best shows I've seen. Don't listen to anyone commenting. This is your personal opinion. Let others have theirs.

The Phantom Regiment Harmonic Journey closer was actually the same one used in my closer for my MB show of this year.

No corps that doesn't bring such stunning visuals as these with such emotionally charged music should be seeing the highest scores no matter how well they execute what they do. The best is the best, and only the best should be rewarded as the best.
Execution is everything in Drum Corps. Doesn't matter how emotionally driven the music is or how cool the drill is if it's not executed to perfection it won't score as high. That's why blue devils score so high every year. As the BD percussion tech states, "Work smarter not harder"

The blue devils make me so mad bc they win everything! Like honestly they deserve every win they get because they work so hard and all but come on in 2014 Bluecoats should've won we all know that.
The bluecoats derserved second place, definitely not first.
+The awe$ome TACO The finals run of Tilt was a good run, but it was dirty in some very key points in the brass. There was several times lines were not quite clear, and then the poor screamer... Personally, I feel like Tilt, while an amazing show, should have been placed a bit lower, but I'm definitely satisfied that it got second. It was a great show.
+The awe$ome TACO tbh those last three runs of felliniesque were so close to a perfect score that even though i did not like the show that much, got a well deserved 99.65. Bluecoats are an amazing corps and got what they deserved as well, an outstanding 2nd place finish... but BD deserved the win
In my opinion, not including SCV '04 is a serious crime. Scheherazade is I think the best show since Phantom of the Opera in 1989, also SCV. Besides that, I would've included 007 from '04 and maybe 1930 from '09, but good lost anyways!
SCV has had a lot better shows than ‘89 since then..

My co band director played in the Carolina crowns until 2012, while my band director played in the blue coats during the 90s and now they teach our marching band

It becomes clearer that the Cavaliers 15 Minutes of Fame breaks a primary rule of drum corps show design. Don't have the entire guard represent a loathesome character with a dark moral flaw. The audience simply can't clap for the antagonist in a twelve minute medium. It's not in the audience's DNA. See: Madison's 2016 Judas (13th place). Same problem here. 8th place.

Pretty good list but i feel like Test Drive from RISE was one of the Greatest moments EVER in DCI history and im not one to like the Boston Crusaders

RepubliqueHelvetique Thanks, I’ll look into it. I did my share of field shows that had flags & rifles flying over me, but moving sideways as fast as they are in close quarters is exposing many embouchures to having some nasty impacts with one misstep.
Obviously not a fan of the Blue Devils. How you could not include 2009 or 2010, especially 2009 1930's BD show, which had so many wonderful moments is puzzling, but then again this is a subjective activity and you like what you like. I did enjoy all the moments you did share.

State my assumption: Harmonic Journey turned you on to drum corps (for good reason) where you then started following the most current seasons of the activity but never bothered to look backwards into the treasure trove of great shows from years past.
I can think of probably 5 or 6 shows from 1995-2005 that are as good as Harmonic Journey or better. And a few more from before '95 (I think some of the old dogs would say "more than a few").
north star 89, scouts 88, any of the old blue devils shows, any old scv, and any anaheim kingsmen are all phenomenal

This list is more like top 9 moments from 2011-2013 ... and Phantom Harmonic Journey just because. Also, this list is super whack. There is some infinitely better stuff throughout 2003-2013.

Idk, some of these were fantastic moments. Just goes to show you how music and visual affect each of us individually. I loved the visual of 2006 Cavies but not much of the music. And it’s a great show. 🤷🏽♂️
Anyone else think Crown ruined that show by making the DM a circus performer at the end? Totally ruined a brilliant show for me. Totally A BOA moment when I was expecting elevation beyond basic concepts.
you're missing so much like seriously come on man. 2012 cavaliers? Really?!?! and 2013 phantom regiment and Bluecoats, especially the Bluecoats there wasn't anything that would really get your blood flowing that year, even though that year wasn't very exciting for any drum corp to begin with. 2013 Cavaliers EASILY beats 2012 Cavaliers and you missed probably THE BEST DCI show of all time 2008 Phantom Regiment Spartacus
Like the video states this is MY top 10 moments. This is what I'VE found interested and have enjoyed the most. Feel free to make your own video stated your favorite moments.
