  • Hi friends!
Thank you for joining me for another video. Today, I am making Osmanthus fragrans flowers using 0.5mm wide paper strips. As I am still getting accustomed to working with these thin strips, I thought I'd share some of the mistakes and challenges I encounter while shaping the petals.
This variety of Osmanthus fragrans with orange blossoms is native to Japan, known locally as kinmokusei. Part of the Oleaceae family, it's also called Sweet Osmanthus or Fragrant Olive.
The unique scent of these blooms make them very popular in the perfume industry. Osmanthus flowers are also versatile in the kitchen, whether infused with green or black tea leaves, or used to create jams, dumplings, soups, and cakes.

Oh my goodness Manuela this is just so gorgeous, and it’s actually heartening to see that even you struggle with coils that unravel sometimes!! And I noticed at the end there that the two halves of the scissor handles come together to make a dragonfly, how beautiful is that?! Again though these osmanthus are so realistic they could have been picked straight from the garden, just extraordinary. And the way you arrange the leaves and flowers to make the perfect spray. You are so talented. Thank you for sharing ❤😘.

Thank you so much for your wonderful comment, Orla! This is a new pair of scissors I am currently testing. You are always noticing and appreciating the little details. 😊 Where would the fun be without the unraveling coils? 😂 All part of the creative process. ❤😘
