Thrifting is my all time favorite thing to do, I have been teaching my grandchildren and they are loving it!
I just started going to thrift/antique stores within the last couple years. I'm super nostalgic so it started with me finding treasures that reminded me of my grandma. Then I found the fun in watching some super talented DIY influencers and antique resellers that sparked some interest to look for and reperpose cool pieces. I don't have much space, so I can't do all the things, but it's fun to look. I love that bronze vase and the pottery vases you found. One thing I noticed is that the Goodwill and thrift stores in other places are way better than the ones I've experienced. Guess I need to travel more. 😊

Ah i'm so glad you went to Rusty's Resale Boutique! Also Rusty's Angels Sanctuary is a dog rescue that takes in senior dogs, they live there the rest of their lives.

I love thrifting and have been going ever since I was little. Then found that I even enjoy going to vintage stores allot more. I usually go alone since I know I am going to take awhile.

That was fun! You found some nice things. Those espadrilles were nice! $5 bucks!😱Can’t beat that deal! They looked new! The vases were nice as well. They will definitely look nice in your home. My favorite was that wooden bowl with handle! You could use that for all sorts of things! I take my son thrifting because he likes to go for graphic tees! He finds some neat stuff! He has a good eye like yourself for stuff! I go straight to the books…🤭like I really need another book!

Love thrifting! Started in 2010 in fl. We bought a home, we gutted and rebuilt. As this was our winter home, we thrifted quite abit. Love buying clothes too!

Cannot believe how grown up Luke has become!!
Aaahhh I remember when my sons were that age and how much fun we had just running errands. I was a single Mom so we didn't have much money which didn't matter bc we always had fun...something about Moms and sons is so very special. When we're together now we talk about those days and they thank me all the time for being there for them. As a matter of fact my younger son married a woman just like me. Thanks Amanda for the sweetest memories a Mom could have 💜💙💚💛🧡

My favorite thing about thrifting would have to be the clothes. You can find name-brand clothes for half or affordable prices. It's funny how most of the time when we go in our car we see alot of stuff we would love to get but we have no room in the car. But when we go in our truck we don't really found anything that we are interested in. As a family we just found that funny. My kids get happy when we go because they can get toys ❤.
Haha always how it works!! And yes! Our kids always love finding fun things there!

I love to find curtains when Im thrifting. If I get bored I givit to my mom or to goodwill again.
I love thrifting. My more recent trips have had me finding the Maurices brand shirts. I had never been in the actual store but knew it to be expensive and every shirt I was finding thrift was $5 or under. But as far as clothing I love snagging mall or like you said Target, Khols brands. I found my 9 y/o daughter Abercrombie jeans that fit her amazingly - I mean clothes are the main thing I buy. Love a good find!!

I feel like Goodwill’s prices have gone up so so much! I live in the East Valley AZ and I love Deseret Industries and their prices are much better then most thrift stores.

Amanda, looks like you had a nice time with your son. I like to go looking for treasures. When I first moved out many years ago, I stocked my house by going to yard sales and hand me downs. I haven't been in a while because I am trying to declutter.

Amanda, TFS a thrifting vlog. It was one of my suggestions for future videos. It was very sweet to see Luke thrifing with you. There were a few furniture pieces at goodwill that could be worth going to, to flip or like you said if your sister would want. You purchased some great finds for so cheap. I love the metal like vase. When you flagged it in the store, I said she has to buy it and you did for the same reason I would. It's perfect as is and the bronzey color is what makes it. I don't thrift a ton but there's a place called Savers that's about 30 minutes away. I've donated here and found great books and shoes that have tags or like new for cheap. The thrift hunt is just as good as finding items you didn't expect to find at a steal👍🏽😊🛍
Oh I’ve shopped at savers when we lived in SD & UT! And yes!! It was so fun to go with Luke & spend the day together. I love that our boys have learned to love thrifting like me!
@KyleandAmandaVlogs I see that Savers has stores all over the US. Isnt it a great store? I don't think to go as much as I would a Target or department store. Thifting is worth checking out. Savor those moments with your boys!
Luke has grown so much! I remember him being so little when I first started watching your videos years ago back in Utah. The same goes with Liam and Noah!

Those 2 vases you got really look kinda natural to me. I love them. I usually use thrift stores for picture frames and baskets. You have me looking at vases every time I go. Look for texture and color. I am glad to see the boys hanging out with you. Have a great weekend.😊

Hi Amanda, So 1st of all…can’t get over how much Luke has transitioned from a boy to a handsome young man and he seems so calm and polite! He will (if not already) be breaking hearts. To answer your question about thrifting, where I live there is only one thrift store and I have never gone but since I've noticed your hauls, I decided to give it a try and of course the day I went they were closed but I think I will try this out again soon - I don't want to get hooked since I live in an appartment and don't want to fill it up. I'm not a minamalist but still have really cut down on knick knacks so as to shorten my cleaning time down to have more « living » time.

I'm a sucker for china. USA china of my parents generation and European...England, Irish, German, Dutch etc. My cousin scored a delft pitcher on our last thrift and I'm still trying not to be jealous ❤

Those last two vases would look nice staged at the base of your new tree in the living room. It has a massive base that just needs "something" in my opinion. Thank you for advocating for thrift stores!

I volunteered in a small thriftshop with clothing. Another lady told us about an incident years ago. Alady came in ad she tried on a suit (skirt+ jacket), she tried it on and after trying it on she handed the suit to my friend and wanted to try on a one size smaller. my baffled friend answered: but it's our only one. The lady became SO offended and stormed out of the shop.

Handsome boy! Luke is getting so tall! I don't thrift much in my city because the prices are not much lower. I have two 1930s china cabinets I thrifted, but they were not cheap. The closest Goodwill went bankrupt and was shut down. (Almost impossible to imagine, but there was corporate trouble.)

@@KyleandAmandaVlogs you can use it in watering the plants with a pail and dipper. In our country, we use it in showering instead of using the shower to conserve water. Before the bidet, we use it to wash ourselves instead of using a toilet paper. 😉😊

I love thrift stores here in Tennessee. We have several, but my favorite is city thrift that we have here in Tennessee can find all kinds of things there.
Things have gotten expensive at thrift stores because people keep buying up things just to flip it for a higher cost. :/ It sucks for those of us who may need/want things economically or sustainably. I love thrifting and prefer to buy as much as possible secondhand. ❤

I rarely go t thrift stores but I sure frequently donate to them.
I love to go thrifting. I like to go look for old retro games or records. I also love to look at the different blankets or shirts or whatever to make quilts out of or for my daughter to just cut. We also like to get all kinds of pots and glasses or jars to plant things in. Right now I have some cuttings from house plants from jars I found. My daughter decorated them and she’s going to sell the starts. There are so many things you can find

I love to thrift… I’ve gotten some great furniture pieces that I refinished, an amazing deal on a brand new Carhartt jacket with the tags still on it, and some interesting decor. It’s addicting so I only go once a week or so, and try to get rid of something before I buy something else. 😂

I also love the wooden bowl with the handle that you got. In Rusty's I instantly fell in love with the Amber glass storage jars with the metal lids that I spied on the table. They were gorgeous! Unfortunately I live in the UK so zero chance of owning them 😢. I'm a sucker for Amber glass & brown glass

Girl!!!! You nabbed the items that caught my eye. I loved the wood bowl with the handle and I am a collector of copper items. Copper is one of the things that AZ is known for....Cotton, Copper, Cactus, Climate....there's one other "C" that goes on that list but I can' think of it. I'm moving from Prescott to Surprise next week, so I will be closer to Rusty's Boutique and Ill definitely be checking that out.
