We 've stayed many times in this wonderful place, both in The Castle and the Lodge. Full marks to "Sammy" for the restoration. It is an unique residence totally unlike any of the other so called pretentious Irish castle hotels. The genuine article RIP Jack Leslie.

It's an amazing place. Genuine friendship and personal service. Did some horseriding there and coming back through the lake was thrilling. ❤

The only problem with lovely tree s are the roots sup up all the moisture from the ground the earth becomes very dry this is when cracks appear on the walls of your property then the foundations get weak it happened to me and I do not live in a massive home

Decay. Rot. Death. Isolation. These houses were fun (for the lords.) when the lords had an army of desperate slaves to wait on them, hand and foot.

Agree most landlords if not all were tyrannical contemptuous of the Irish people history proves it cold hard facts

Those horses at the beginning have probably been castrated so that the girls can ride them easily. So, it's not such an idyllic scene.. 'Little people fishing & poaching', that shows what they really thing of everyone but themselves. & Will that young sprog become another great general - nope.

You are displaying a great deal of ignorance with your comment, and not just about horses.

@@bcgraham3512 Top result on the Web: 'The majority of male horses are castrated, and for very good reason - very few people have the facilities, the time, or the inclination to manage an entire stallion. The old adage had it absolutely right - “You can tell a gelding, you can ask a mare, but you discuss the matter with a stallion”.' Which seems to deal with the horses..
