Dear Emma I feel it’s more appropriate for me to thank you for sharing your honesty with me. Because of you, I have learned how to EPP. I am 77yrs old and recently widowed. Your calm sweet voice and gentle hand movements are such a blessing to me. May The Lord bless you richly in all that you do.
Thank you for such a lovely comment Carmen, it really means a lot to me. I am so so sorry to hear you were recently widowed. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care
Oh Emma you have definitely made me emotional, My husband passed away Aug2018 after a majacal marriage of 40 years. He was the flower presser and his flower press was his Bible. So on Sundays at Church he transfer his flowers leaves and things to mine He had a green thumb to. I must say after I watched your video here I went out and cleaned his little 4by4spechel garden in our tiny Tiny yard . First time I put my hands in the dirt. . Thank you for your inspiration. Living by myself is so difficult to do. After my love is not here for me to touch . But must keep my head up because that’s where he is. . Thank you for sharing your amazing work with me . Going out side to take my pansies off and place them in his Bible. I m going to use it as my press now. Thanks to you Emma I’m new to your channel and please stay safe and God bless you and yours.
I am so so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. I hope that by pressing the flowers in his Bible it helps you feel close to him. Thank you for watching and for sharing your story with me
Sweet Emma, You inspire me every time I watch a video. You are so creative and talented. You just get better with each project. Listening to you is so calming and the music you play is perfect. I love how you are so encouraging. Seeing you on the beach with your little boy was very special. Thank you for all your thoughts, teaching and sharing. Much love.
Oh what an incredibly kind and sweet comment Sherrie, thank you. I’ve had a crisis of confidence today so your lovely words are helping me. Thank you sweet friend 🌸
So lovely! Thank you, Emma. Just hearing your voice at the beginning, is such a balm for our souls today! Thank you for being you, and for sharing your peacefulness & sweetness with all of us. 💗
Hello Emma, I'm watching all the past videos, I'm so hooked on your quilting and darling projects. You are a tremendous inspiration for me. I've started doing Hexagons. I was never very interested in them until I saw what you were doing and learning how to make them right. I've been hand quilting since I was around 8 or 9, my grandmother started me making doll blankets and then clothes. At 75, it's nice to start a new project that I haven't really tackled before. This is so relaxing and I can put my feet up and watch my nature videos.
I really enjoyed your walk through nature. I would have been happy to stand with you and watch the rabbits hopping about. You did an excellent job on the larger blue motif. Framing it among the fragile pressed flowers makes it so much more a treasure indeed. Thanks for sharing. You are always so genuine, transparent and believable.
You are the whole package Emma......brilliant tutorials ....encouraging words and the peaceful way that you speak throughout ministers to a tense soul. Keep it up....you make a huge difference to this mad mad world. Thank you x
Oh Maureen, I can’t tell you what your words mean to me. I’ve definitely had a crisis of confidence but your kindness and encouragement is helping me. Thank you x
Apologies my husband is logged on...Thank you so much for your inspiring video. I love your Creative Floral Art. I lost my creative mojo as well...I love sewing. I like making hexagons/patchwork and yo yo's. x Blessings x Mariana UK xx
What a clever idea. Your are very creative and I love your choice of fabric and you can never go wrong with Hexies. I live in the state of Ohio US. I'm only a few miles from Lake Erie. Retired now, I'm looking for small projects to keep busy and since I was a quilter I love working with fabrics. Stay safe and keep stitching.
Emma that wall hanging is absolutely gorgeous!!! You have a great way with fabric!! I'm so glad I found your channel, and his video made me smile 😊 just absolutely gorgeous!! Thank you for sharing!!xx
Gracias Emma, su trabajo es también un estilo de vida, transparente, cálido y muy valioso. Genial la transformación de los siempre fantásticos hexágonos al estilo inglés..
Dear Emma, what a beautiful video. You are full of beautiful ideas. You have inspired me to do some flower pressing. I have one that you put in the microwave. I don't use it very often as I never know what to do with the flowers when they're ready. But now you have given me some wonderful ideas. Please keep your videos coming, they are a tonic to me. Take care xxx
Thankyou. Emma for this video. I too have been struggling to know what to do. This has given me ideas. I loved going to the beach with my 2.boys,they are 28 and 30 now, Ask so many question when they are small brought back happy memories.
You give so many ideas. I'm doing my first hexi quilt, and am getting so many ideas from your vids. Your such an amazing person with encouraging inspiration.
Oh...Emma mainly thankyou for the inspiring environment and also the project. Don't know what you are prepare to drink because l am from the beautiful Island called Sri Lanka a tea country. One of the most tastiest tea producers in the world. When l hear your carm voice l feel like so relaxing and comfortable. Thankyou once again dear for the lovely and different types of experiences that you are giving us. Please stay safe.
Oh yes, it is very important for us to "loose" our mojo every now and then. Actually it is a very valuable time indeed! Just like when people or especially children can get "bored". It is the same thing really. In these moments, we actually make space for brand new beginnings. The tabula rasa, the fresh new fertile ground for new ideas is being layed out. When I get this feeling nowadays, I tell myself: "Ah, it is time to just do nothing, relax and be in the moment. Drink some tea, sit in the sun, take a walk outside in nature, take a relaxing bath or hot shower." And it never takes long, until a new idea starts blooming. I think, in these moments, we allow ourselves to let go and connect with our inner wisdom, with spirit, which is our never ending stream, our never ending sorce of creative ideas. Infinite wisdom and love is always there, but we tend to shut of the connection and get consumed and tangled up in our earthly lifes. Very lovely Podcast/videos Emma. You do have a very soothing voice. It feels so good to listen to you. And the ideas are devine as well. :-) Huggs from Rose-Cottage, Schurwald Forest, Germany
What a lovely comment and beautiful explanation, thank you ever so much for taking the time to watch my video and to write this lovely message. Have a great day 😊
Emma as usual you have inspired me to pick up my hexes again! This video was so relaxing to watch. I too love to press flowers. My husband made me a huge flower press out of a beautiful piece of wood. Now I need to go back and see the beautiful flowers that I pressed. I look forward to your next video. Thank you so much! Hugs and kisses from Los Angels California.
What a lovely video You are so talented I love the frames Do you mind if I ask where I could buy some please Look forward to the next one Your family look lovely you are so blessed Take care xx💙💚💛💜
Thank you so much Paula, such kind words. I wish I could tell you where they are from but I bought them so long ago. The small one with a hook was a present. I think they are called kiko frames and if you search it I’m sure you’ll find them . Sorry I can’t be more helpful
Thanks Emma I'm always looking for different things to put cross stitch or patchwork in I've been crafting many years I'm into patchwork and crochet at the moment but I've crafted since I was 7 But you inspire me so much Take care xx💙💚💛💜
This is a really good video Emma and the things you've made are beautiful. I like to press flowers too but have not used them along with my sewing. I'm going to try this and see how I get on with it. We have a large garden so plenty of flowers to pick and press. Thank you.v
I really do love your videos. Your such a calming person. Can't wait for the next one. I love epp, and you have inspired me to pick it up again. Thank you!
How beautiful they look Emma I’m so glad I found you what a inspiration you are I love to crochet but it is so nice to have something different to do so thank you
So lovely to see your flower press! I have a Spear's weaving loom that my father gave me when I was a child. That was well over 40 years ago now, and it recently moved to the UK with me with the very few precious possessions that I went to the effort of shipping (my sewing machine was another - priorities!). I used the loom recently to make a small wall hanging with my first ever yarn spun on a drop spindle. The memories evoked were so special. Thank you for a lovely and inspirational video.
Oh how lovely that you kept your loom too. It’s nice to treasure special things like that from childhood isn’t it, and so nice to continue to use them as adults. I think one of the reasons I still love making things is because I received gifts like that as a child which meant I grew up always creating. Thanks so much for watching Denise, lovely to hear about your story 🌸
Another wonderfully peaceful video and so inspiring and enjoyable to watch. I love what you made using the frames...so beautiful 🌸 I have some pressed flowers inside one of my heavy knitting books and I wasn’t really sure what to do with them and your video has given me an idea ☺️
What a really lovely video this was Emma. Like how you compose your videos. Absolutely love your creative glass pieces using EPP and pressed flowers. I love pressing flowers and using on greeting g cards. Thank you again for another wonderful video. I have all that I need to start EPP it’s just finding the time x
Emma Jones Vintage Sewing Box No I know. I will just need to make a point of starting rather than doing my crochet etc. you’re most welcome, I’m so glad I found you on TH-cam and Instagram. So relaxing to watch x
Emma, there's a very easy way to remove the papers. I use a paper punch to punch a tiny hole in my papers. When I want to remove them, I just insert a little pointy thing and poke it under the paper and pop it out. I don't know if this will work with your glue technique on the seams though. I don't use glue, I baste my seams down instead (not through the paper, just through the fabric). Just thought I'd pass this on about the hole punched into the center of the papers. I've found it so easy. Love this video. I am awed by how TINY your hexies are!
thank you Diane, that is a great tip and would work with glue. I use hexiform for these small shapes though, instead of paper. It's designed to be left in so you can skip this step altogether. Thanks ever so much for watching
Emma, you have certainly inspired me to try something different 😀 Thank you so much for your videos, I am learning a lot from them and I look forward to your next one!
Thank you so much for your lovely videos. I know those breaks in creativity very well. At the time being there are a lot of projects I would love to start with - but one of my dogs has got a bad health diagnose and I am not able to focus on anything else. But your videos always help to keep me going. So thanks a lot.
@@emmajonesvintagesewingbox thank you so much for your compassion. You are an amazing young woman. I love to watch your videos. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings with us.
Really nice video Emma, the frames are beautiful. I like to make things for the process but it's so satisfying when you can incorporate into something for your home or a gift. I had a flower press as a child, I wish I still had it, there would be some treasures I'm sure. ☺ Where would you get frames like that?
Hi Laura, I definitely agree, it’s nice to make some smaller, decorative pieces. I got the frames so long ago. I think the large one was from m and s and the smaller one from a garden centre. Not very helpful! But they are called kiko frames and I’m sure if you google it you will find them. Someone here said you can get them on amazon too. Thanks for watching, have a lovely day 🌸
Emmai love your tutorial those glass frames are FABULOUS the dried flowers look lovely and your tiny hexagons,, I cant find them anywhere could you please tell where i could buy them i love making them hexagons
Ahh thank you Dolores! I have the hexagons for sale on my website www.vintagesewingbox.co.uk or you can also get them at www.ashmeaddesigns.com I hope that helps 😊🌸
Hi Jane, thanks so much for watching. I sell some of the hexiform shapes on my website. They are made by www.ashmeaddesigns.com and they sell the full range of them there. 😊
When I feel like working on something, anything... but I walk into my studio, take one look around and walk out, this is what I do: I pick a UFO. I open it up to figure out the next step (hopefully I left a note for my future self). ... Take my current project for example: slip covers for my kitchen chair cushions. Buy the fabric, ✔️. Wash the fabric, ✔️. Cut out the pattern... Wait! I have to make the pattern... Wait! I need paper to make the pattern, ✔️. Iron the paper and the fabric. ... So it turns out that my next step wasn't cut the fabric, the next step was find a big enough piece of paper. My next step is to take out the ironing board. Yes, that only takes a minute, but when my patience is thin, a minute is more than I have today, but finding that's big piece of packing paper felt good and I'm looking forward to getting out that ironing board after I make dinner, clean the kitchen and get the kids to bed. In the morning, in between flipping bacon, I'll have two minutes to get that paper ironed. Before I know it, I'm back in the groove... Making the smallest progress on a stalled project is all I need to get my hands back in the other 3 projects I have going (applique, quilting and crochet pot scrubbers.) And that's how I get my mojo back. 💖🌞🌵😷
That is so pretty. My thread seems to knot a fair bit, do you do anything to your thread to keep it from knotting and when I use fine thread it always seems to slip out of the eye of the needle. Also, what length of thread to you prefer?
I will do a video very soon with some tips about this, I think it will be easier to show rather than explain in words. but I keep the thread relatively short and I grip it with my fingers to stop it slipping out. Also I unwind it off the spool in a way that stops it from tangling. So if the thread is wound onto the spool in a criss cross way, unwind it horizontally. If it is wound onto the spool in a straight way, unwind it vertically. I hope that makes sense but if not, I will show and explain it better soon
I didn’t for this but you could do, if you watch my tiny patchwork flowers video it will show you how. I don’t know where the frames are from Im afraid, this was a few years ago and one was a gift and the others I bought in shops. But if you do an internet search I’m sure you’ll find them 🌸
@emmajonesvintagesewingbox thank you I just found you. I going to make you wall organizer. And several others you have. Going in to get your pattern for large hexi case and your table. I travel in RV and this will be great Thank you. I will be watching all your tutorials to catch up. God Bless and hugs
Thank you Fleur. They are called Kiko frames and I got mine from a garden centre and one from m and s many years ago but somebody here said they are available on Amazon
Found this video as I’m resting and recovering from surgery. I’m drawing inspiration from this and wish we could all join you for a proper tea party in the garden. ❤💐🫖

Thank you so much for your lovely videos. I know those breaks in creativity very well. At the time being there are a lot of projects I would love to start with - but one of my dogs has got a bad health diagnose and I am not able to focus on anything else. But your videos always help to keep me going. So thanks a lot.

Really nice video Emma, the frames are beautiful. I like to make things for the process but it's so satisfying when you can incorporate into something for your home or a gift.
I had a flower press as a child, I wish I still had it, there would be some treasures I'm sure. ☺
Where would you get frames like that?
Hi Laura, I definitely agree, it’s nice to make some smaller, decorative pieces. I got the frames so long ago. I think the large one was from m and s and the smaller one from a garden centre. Not very helpful! But they are called kiko frames and I’m sure if you google it you will find them. Someone here said you can get them on amazon too. Thanks for watching, have a lovely day 🌸
Beautiful.
thank you so much

That’s a great tip! Thank you so much for sharing 😊
❤ ❤❤ do you put a back on your hexi flower. Where can we find the frames, etc
I didn’t for this but you could do, if you watch my tiny patchwork flowers video it will show you how. I don’t know where the frames are from Im afraid, this was a few years ago and one was a gift and the others I bought in shops. But if you do an internet search I’m sure you’ll find them 🌸
@emmajonesvintagesewingbox thank you
I just found you. I going to make you wall organizer.
And several others you have. Going in to get your pattern for large hexi case and your table. I travel in RV and this will be great
Thank you.
