    Awesome build. I learned so much modifying my KLR, they're so easy to work on. Been all around Australia on that thumper!

    Maybe the best looking Gen 1 KLR I have seen. The black rims against the green paint with the black graphics really make the whole thing work.
    That top box looks like it weighs a ton though. I would be a bit concerned, especially once loaded, with all that weight up high & towards the back.

    That bike is sick!! I have a 01. I want black rims on mine

      +Robskie13 Those rims were a major reason I chose this bike. At the time, I was looking at another KLR with more options, but had regular wheels on it. I just couldn't pass on the black! Thanks for watching!

    I was wondering what kind of fender do you have on your green KlR. Thanks. Richard

    You may end up cutting off some of that screen. Unless you figure a way to support it better. You know there’s not much support for on the klr. But looks like you’re really good at making things work. You seem to be very sharp with tools and building.

    It is looking good. Are you planning a custom paint job for this one or leaving it stock?

      +Elihu Spitz I am planning on doing something in phase 2 which will focus on the looks rather than function. I was originally thinking that I would do a carbon fiber hydrodip on everything that is green, and high-vis yellow on the tank. I am taking suggestions!

    As someone who is in the planning stages of a scrambler build, should I use thread lock? Im a bit confused, as I didn't see you apply any...maybe you did off camera.

      Btw, excellent vid.

      +Christopher Cabading During the building stages I tend to take things on and off multiple times before final assembly. This is bike is still a bit of a work in progress and I haven't thread locked much yet. KLR's vibrate a lot so I have to go through every couple of thousand miles to re torque anyway. Once I decide on a final setup, I will use blue loctite on almost everything. On my s40 bobber series, you will see a lot of thread lock being used.

    Are you planning a trip on the KLR?

    • @ObsessiveCycleDisorderMeridian
      @ObsessiveCycleDisorderMeridian  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +GRUMPY I was planning on taking it on a trip to the California coast, but it is getting a little late in the year so I think it might need to wait until spring. Thanks for watching!

    Where does the wind hit you from the windshield.

    • @ObsessiveCycleDisorderMeridian
      @ObsessiveCycleDisorderMeridian  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm 5'9" with a long back the wind hits the helmet with no buffeting. It blocks the wind from your yet body very well. However, I'm offering a free adjustable windshield for my first customers. It puts the wind over your head (depending on how tall you are).

      Oh ok I have the same windshield and haven’t had a chance to try it out. I’m 5’10.

      I'm sorry. I didn't pay attention to which video it was. But the answer is the same. I also make an aftermarket fairing for the klr.

      I didn't even know what it was when I bought it. It was listed as a KLR. I had to look it up when I got home.
