Hey there! New viewer here. I thought this was a really great review; a fair assessment of the figure's strengths vs. its flaws, some great shots and lighting at the end, overall just a pleasant and entertaining experience. I got this figure a few days ago and I absolutely LOVE it! The tailoring's maybe not up to snuff with some of Mezco's other offerings, as you said, but on mine most of it looks damn fine (I got lucky and the stitching around the neck isn't quite as prominent on the version I got, but I've seen some photos where it varies pretty wildly) and I actually like the smiling head. It looks kind of awkward and goofy, but so did Christopher Reeve's actual smile. It seems to be based on the scene at the end where he's flying in space and grinning, and if you go back and watch the scene they've almost matched it perfectly IMO. Still not my favourite head, probably not the one I'll be displaying most of the time, but I don't think it's quite as far off the mark as everyone says it is, lol. Nice to finally see someone address that you CAN make the cape lay flush with a bit of effort! It seems like every other reviewer just says "it looks like pyjamas and the cape doesn't fit" and never makes any attempt to actually flatten it for their shots. Some people just live to hate I guess, who knows? Anyway, I'm rambling, but I enjoyed this review and you've earned yourself a new subscriber. Looking forward to more!
Very much appreciate your comment, i will deffo admit i pre judged the fig too quickly after seeing those first in hand pics. Even after i filmed this, i enjoyed him even more while taking the pics. Yh Chris Reeve did have a goofy smile so the head is accurate. Display base is lovely, really happy with this fig, despite the tailoring, i can look past it and enjoy it.
@@ProjectPiperCustoms Yeah, after the first in-hand photos started surfacing on Instagram I got nervous, but I remember there were some pretty unflattering pics of the Mezco John Wick at first as well, and while that figure had issues it wasn't nearly as bad as they made it out to be. So I tried to stay cautiously optimistic and I'm glad I did, because I think the final product turned out great. I ADORE the Fortress of Solitude display base, that's most definitely a lovely accessory/accent piece which compliments this figure beautifully.
I think the wide smiling face is pretty good and does capture the likeness well. The costume is a bit wrinkly and saggy in certain areas. Overall it's a decent figure.
It’s good. However, Christopher Reeve and his license deserves nothing but great. I’m getting it but can’t help to feel disappointed on another miss from a somewhat high end company. I’m keeping my fingers crossed the SSC will give Reeve the statue he deserves this time around after that awful one they did a couple years ago. So far Hot toys has been the ONLY ONE to get his portrait right, too bad I didn’t get that one but honestly I prefer statues anyway. With that being said, I can only wish that a real high end company that does things right like XM or Prime Studios gets the license and makes a real out this world 1/2 to 1/3 scale statue of this wonderful Superman played by Christopher Reeve, he really deserves it. Thanks for the review it was well done! 🖖 & 🤘 Max Power

That rotating view/pose with the light up base was outstanding. Really looking forward to mine showing up.

A nice figure, but I'm not sure if I want it. I'm waiting for my Mafex Jim Lee Superman to arrive. Nice video, bro.

My pre-order hasn't arrived yet. Great review. Dam the outfit looks too loose!
Yep! Does look like PJ’s but the accessories look great.
