I want to ask a question.
Is it alright to look at people (which includes non-mahram men and women) for the intention of safety? Like just taking a look around you just in case you need to identify someone who has caused a crime to you or to other people. Same question also applies to looking around you if someone is acting suspicious -> potential threats?
And can a officer look at non-mahram men and women too? Just to distinguish the body language and facial expressions? Brings up the question - can a body language expert look at a non-mahram with the intention of studying them, as thats their job? And is it permissible for someone who's speaking to also look at the audience (non-mahrams) to gauge what the audience is feeling so that they can tailor their presentation to them? What about for interviews? They say good eye contact = confidence -> with confidence people are more likely to be persuaded.
I for one do not like looking at people in the eye but, I've grown accustomed to direct eye contact ONLY when people speak to me and ONLY when I need to listen to what they say as growing up, a lot of us have been told that not looking people directly in the eye when they speak to you is disrespectful. Even then, I try lower my gaze when non mahrams speak to me (trying to break out of the habit). I also wouldn't mind though, explaining to them why I lower my gaze but, would that be a weird conversation to have with a non-mahram? Or is that a good thing because that gets them curious in islam?
A lot of questions - but I'd really like to break out of this habit.

Hold on, i am not wearing loose clothing to help someone lower their gaze,my uniform is a command from Allah not so i can help a weak man supress his nafs. ,Allah commanded both men and women to lower gaze , are those men going to stop wearing tight shirts ,to help sisters lower their gaze?, the sheikh went south, obey Allah and you wont need someone to help you not sin, and lets not forget that women are not the only one with hijabs, men also have their own hijabs(dress code),how many of them know this or follow it?,or encourage it?,i have to lower my gaze as a woman and then help a man lower his too, while Allah commanded both of us to lower our gaze , are women babysitting men on their deen now?

That what is meant by the hadeeth, from a 1000 muslims only one will enter Jannah. You do you, without looking at others, and Allah swt will remember that... I miss the 90s, baggy hiphop clothes that fit the Sunnah... you're absolutely right sister, both sexes need to help each other...

      Assalam-u-Alaikum,
It just helps and he only meant that. And me as a man is also telling you the same.
It is because men have more sex desire than women, and as a woman that can be a bit hard to understand but it's true.
So in that sense, yes a woman helps men by wearing loose.
However, that is absolutely true that loose or not men should lower their gaze. It is just an added measure.
      Hope this helps.

@@muzamiljavid1552men don't have more sex desires than women,, a woman's sex desires are just not put in the full front, like the desire of men or not cared of ,like the way it's been cared of,for men ,it's been like that for a very long time,I don't care if you are a man or a tree saying this, that's your responsibility to lower your gaze ,not mine,i am not your keeper, you are supposed to be leaders but you need help from sisters ,,to help you lower your gaze? Maybe you need to start leading your nafs first

@@muzamiljavid1552 men don't have more sex desires that women, your sex desires are cared for ,the sex desires of women are not, there's no tradition in this world that cuts of the sex desires of men,but there's one,for women like FGM, do men go through that? No, so it's not like your sex desires are to the ruff and so I need to help you lower your gaze, Allah (SWA) created us both ,with sexual desires, and told us to lower our gaze

A trend of background sounds has become common. Physiologically one cannot fully concentrate as to what is being said. Extremely annoying. And the words of Quran&Hadith&Deen e Islam are enough for one to be spiritually emotional. There is no need for the extra background sound!!!! Actually it is absurd!!!
