As others pointed out. Opponent didn't discard a card on either GGG use. So he was actually going plus one in hand each time he used it. He woulda been at zero cards when he countered big in that late game turn

9:37 . You could have countered out the attack on to luffy and gotten 10 cost buggy out on your 10 don turn (without bottom decking) by placing down a random 5 cost. Maybe could've been good?
Around minute 13 he did Luffy ability twice. He had used it to ramp to 10 don and play 10c Gear 5 Luffy, then ramped again at 0 Don, all without passing turn.
I’m glad you pointed this out, I want to play R/P Luffy in the future and need to learn these things myself. Thank you 🙏🏽 Also my opponent took a break from OP and just started playing again I think it was nerves from being on camera and just not being 100% familiar with his whole deck

Also the beginning of his turn on 10 drop Luffy he activated leader. To gain a Don then activated it again same turn. Then did whole turn skip thing.
